CHAPTER 39

There were stares of scrutiny and there were stares of pity. Some people even gave me judgemental stares while others were kind enough to give me stares of encouragement. All the same, the only thing I had gotten from my work colleagues ever since my big reveal were stares, lots and lots of them.

I tried my best to ignore the numerous pairs of eyes that were peeled on me as I bee-lined towards my desk that morning but it was a little bit hard considering the fact that they were also

accompanied by snickers and side comments. This was one of those days when I really could do with a friendly face, but unfortunately, Jason had chosen today of all days to be off. It didn’t help either that I texted him a while ago for moral support and had still not gotten a response.
