Chapter 29

The next morning started for Alessa with a phone call.

“Hello,” she groggily answered.

“Where are you? I went down to your room and didn’t see you.” Madison’s voice rang on the other end.

“Who’s calling you at 5 five in the morning?” Kyle stirred next to Alessa.

“Is that a guy?” Madison gasped.

“It’s the TV in the PHAT break room.” Alessa lied. Shocked at how fast she came up with a lie. She motioned Kyle to go back to bed. He shrugged but listened, and turned around to go to sleep.

“Oh, I thought—never mind. Come back! I need to catch up with you! Haven’t talked to you in a week.” She said, excitedly.

“Now?”

“Yeah, why not? You're up already.” She chirped.

“Madison, it’s five in the morning! I am going back to bed, you do the same. I’ll see you when I get back to the mansion.”

“John and I got married! Come back.”

“What?” Alessa snapped up, now fully up.

“What happened?” Kyle said, getting up with her. She shushed him.
