“What's going on here,” the husky voice came before the door was pushed open. Even though I didn't look in the direction I heard the voice, I knew it was Damian. Why did the scumbag even show up in the first place?

I felt relieved, as Melissa let go of my hair, my breath came in heavy gasps,

“Damian, thank God you are here," Melissa said quickly with emotions clogged in her heart and my eyes quickly turned in the direction I heard her voice just to see Melissa sitting on the floor with her back leaned against the wall.

Her eyes were brimmed with tears and worry etched on her face. She pointed a finger at me, “Damian she almost killed me," then her hand traveled to her mouth as she covered it up sniffling.

“What the…” The words escaped from my mouth which I had no idea I said. I felt my eyes growing round and round in my socket and at the same time my lips parted. After a while, I sighed in frustration and immediately it dawned on me, my mouth widened.
