Chapter 3 : I'm pregnant

Rosette smirked ” Where are you coming from at this time you wretch” she asked

" It's none of your business and if you have too much free time and you don't know what to do with it I suggest you use it to teach your children some manners, ” she said as her lips curled up into a smile and her hands folded to her chest.

Rosette bit her lip while glaring at her “ you insolent child I will teach you some manners first ” she said as she raised her hand to hit Andrea on the face.

Andrea grabbed her hand right on time and she threw it away roughly.

“ You better watch it, you old hag, ” Andrea said and walked upstairs.

Andrea had already promised not to take any chances with her step mom. Her mother had her when she was dating her dad and after her dad found out he dumped her mom instantly.

At the end of the day she landed  with her Aunt,she heard  her mom had started a new life with kids.

Her father had no responsible children; they are always in the headlines with one scandal and the other. So he requested her aunt that he wanted her but there was more to it,that was how she was known as the illegitimate daughter of the Grahams yet the responsible one.

Rosette did not only hate Andrea cause she's the other woman's daughter she was jealous cause she didn't have any child with a good reputation like the way Andrea have been carrying the family's name.

“ Mom, you couldn't even fight back, you just watched her insult you, ” Naomi said to her mother.

“ Just shut up you good for nothing," Rosette spat back at her.

Naomi Graham is the second daughter of rosette. She was well known in all the clubs in Australia. She was the lavish spender of the family and the laziest.

“ Whatever ” she replied as she blew her gum and started walking to the door.

“ And where are you heading to? ” Rosette asked.

Naomi rolled her eyes “ to the club of course ”she said as she twirled the car keys on her finger.

Rosette glared at her disappointedly, she was putting on a red leather mini skirt and a matching red leather jacket with black heels. 

The following morning, Andrea yawned as she climbed down off her bed to prepare herself for work. 

She graduated with a first class degree in one of the top universities in America. 

This was exactly the reason why Mr Graham requested for her to come back to the family. He wanted to use her to take the family's company to greater heights and secure the property for his children's future. 

Andrea was no fool to fall for his tricks; she knew he didn't have any fatherly love for her or even genuinely acknowledge her as his daughter; he only cared about rosette children.

She works for a shimmer company in Australia as the general manager. Shimmer's company is one of the top companies in Australia; they were well-known for making and designing jewelries. They had a lot of branches globally.

Three months Later

She arrived at the company with muddled thoughts. 

She went straight into the office ignoring the employees who were busy gossiping about her as usual.

Back in her office she opened her bag and brought the pregnancy test kit. She stared at it with a frown two days back. It was negative. Why did she suddenly feel nauseous from the smell of soup? 

She took in a sharp breath and decided to test it out again.

She came out after a while with a frown on her face.

She dialled Elena's number.

“ Hey girl, why did you call me during work hours? ” she said.

“ Elena, it's positive this time, ” she said.

“ huh? what are you talking about” Elena asked confusedly.

“ I'm pregnant, Elena ” she announced.

“ what? ” Elena yelled.

“ Yes, this morning I was suddenly feeling nauseous from the smell of soup and I threw up. I decided to give it a try once again and it's positive,”she said.

“ Look, I need to hang up right now ”Andrea said.

She had told Elena everything that happened, months back when she went over to Elena's condominium. It has been three months and she hasn't gotten her monthly period.

She bowed her head on top of her desk.

Should I keep the baby?

Who's the father? Will my child grow up without a father? 

A Lot of thoughts kept coming to her head and she started having migraines.

She closed from work early and returned home, immediately she got to her room and ran into the bathroom to throw up again.

She came out looking pale and weak and lay on her bed tiredly. 

" If this continues then soon enough the whole family will know about her pregnancy" she mumbled.

She lowered her head and placed her hand on her tummy.

" So I'm carrying a child," she thought.

TEXAS'S, AMERICA

Sean sat down in his bedroom working overtime with his laptop. 

Once in a while his hand reaches for his cup of coffee that was kept on the coffee table in front of him.

His phone abruptly started ringing and he picked up immediately.

“ Sir, we have a very important client we need to meet in Australia, ” Drew, his assistant, said over the phone.

His pupils dilated and he remained silent on the phone. He turned to the other end of the bed gazing at the black hoodie.

He remembered wearing this hoodie two months back when he came to Australia and he met that lady he spent the night with.

He shut his eyes trying to recall her face but her image had started fading away from his memory. 

The following morning he woke up. She was holding onto him tightly and she was sleeping quite peacefully with her cherry-like small lips.

He smiled at the thought of her.

“ sir ” Drew said, the other end of the line had been quiet for minutes

Sean  jolted back to reality. “ Alright, when  are we having the meeting? ” he asked in a cold voice.

“ in the next two days sir, ” Drew replied.

“ uh huh ” he said and hung up the call.

He was suddenly looking forward to the trip.

The following morning, Australia 

Westwell Estate

Andrea got up and went into the bathroom to brush her teeth.

Rosette came into the room to see what she was up to, but couldn't find her. She shook her head about to leave when her eyes caught sight of a pregnancy tube.

Her eyes widened as she went forward to check she picked it up and gasp from shock she was no newbie to this.

“ So Andrea is pregnant “ she said like a whisper as she palmed her lips.

Her lips curled up into a smirk. ” Finally I will throw that scum out of the mansion, “ she said and went downstairs with it.

After Andrea freshened up and was already dressed up for work she remembered she wanted to dispose the test tube. 

She went to the bedside table and under the bed  but couldn't find it. She frowned her face and checked  everywhere possible it might have fallen to but to no avail.

She was already running late and decided to continue searching once she got back from work. 

She went downstairs and she met the whole family seated at the dining table eating. She was in no mood for breakfast and decided to go straight to work.

” Andrea! “ she heard her step mom call out to her with a cold voice.

She turned around slowly and the next thing she heard was ” smack! smack! “ 

She was slapped hard twice by her step mother.

A deep frown appeared on her face as she glared at Rosette with daggers.

Before she could speak, Rosette waggled the test tube in front of her.

” Why don't you explain this?“ she said with a smug smirk.

Andrea's heart sank, she gulped down her saliva nervously.

How did she get hold of it? She wondered.

” say something “ her dad roared angrily as he stood up from his seat.

Soon the whole family rose to their feets.

She balled her fists beside her tightly. ” yes I'm pregnant “ she announced.

Naomi gasped in shock and suddenly let out a mirthless laugh.

” the almighty amazing daughter had finally brought shame to the family “ she said in a delightful tone.

Grandma held her chest tightly and suddenly groaned in pain.

” grandma! Grandma! “ they all rushed towards her as she collapsed on the ground.

Andrea was about to touch grandma but Naomi swung her arm away.

” Get out of here, look what you have caused. You are so cursed that's why both of your parents refused to acknowledge you “ she said with a malicious tone.

Tears were welling up in Andrea's eyes. She bit her lip hard trying to hold it from sliding down.

The doctor came  shortly and checked on Granny's condition.

The whole family sat down in the living room waiting for the doctor's feedback.

” If anything happens to my mother I will skin you alive “ Lachlan Graham yelled at Andrea.

” How could you be so senseless? “ the person she least expected said to her, finally making her tears fall.

” Jace, even you, “ Andrea said with a choked voice.

Jace is Naomi's junior brother. He was just 20 years old and a college student. He had only been the one who never spoke bad about Andrea ever since she came back into the Graham's family, he even went against his parents for her.

” Andrea I thought you were a good person and my mother was only troubling you for no reason but now have got to see you for who you truly are “ he said with a loud scoff.

Noami smiled and rubbed his hair. He pushed her hands roughly.

 ” Get your hands away from me, you bitch “ he said.

After waiting for a while the doctor came downstairs.

” she almost suffered a heart attack. Your mother is so lucky but if something of this sort happens again there are high chances that she might end up paralyzed.“ the doctor said.

Lachlan heaved a sigh of relief as he held his chest that had been thumping wildly awhile ago. ” Thank you doctor, can I go and see her now? “ he asked.

” She needs enough rest. She shouldn't be stressed in any way, I will take my leave now  “ he said and headed out.

” You wretched, you heard what the doctor said, right? Pack your things and get out of this house right now “ rosette yelled.

Andrea wept loudly; she didn't mean for all this to happen. 

Lachlan turned over to her direction he said in a very icy voice ” who is the father of the child? “he asked, emphasising on each word.

Even she would like to know.

 She could only stare at him as she remained silent.

” speak you bastard “his voice echoed through the whole living room.

Andrea flinched  by the coldness he was exuding. She's quite surprised by his reaction. It wasn't as if he did care about her. Why was he suddenly angry? ” she thought.

She took in a deep breath “ I also don't know” she said in a low tone as she lowered her gaze.

Naomi burst into laughter “ wow Andrea I didn't know you were this wild how many men have you been intimate with so far or have you lost count ” she said shamelessly.

“ how will she know she's just exactly like her mom. They are all sluts, ” Rosette said.

Andrea couldn't take their insults any longer. 

“ enough! You have been saying what you want just because I didn't say anything doesn't mean you can turn my silence into weakness. Another word from any of you again I will surely make you pay.”

She suddenly tittered “ oh and you think I want to live in this house with despicable horrible people like you all, then you must be kidding ” she said and went upstairs.

She returned shortly with her luggage. “ Have a lovely life, ” she said and pulled her luggage along.

Lachlan chuckled codly “ what a disgrace. Who did I offend? All my children are nothing but waste ” he said angrily.

“ And Andrea she dared walked out on me I will surely make her pay “ Lachlan said and stomped off angrily
