"Well, pick it up already!" Josey yelled almost splitting my hair in her excitement.

"What do you want now?" I answered angrily putting the on speaker to satisfy Josey.

"Oh sweetie, that's no way to talk to your brother-in-law. Hope you're ready?" Rossi's voice came through.

I looked at Josey through the mirror. Her once lit up face had turned into visible disgust.

She looked at me and mouthed,

"Is that Rossi?"

I nodded back in response.

"Are you ready?" Rossi roared, causing me to flinch.

"You said you'll pick me up by ten, right?" I asked, trying to muster courage so he doesn't sense that something was amiss.

"No sweetie. I'll be too busy decorating my cute face and body. My boys will come pick you up. And don't you worry, no one will touch you before I do." He said the last sentence like it was a threat.

"We'll see at ten then. Bye!" I said and quickly hung up.

I didn't want to act too scared or too confident and give myself away.
