LOGAN'S POV

“Since you love crossing lines. Do you want me to show you what happens when you take a step too far?” I snapped.

She quickly dropped the book, her hands trembling as she faked a smile. “I brought your water,” she informed me. For some reason, her voice irritated me even more.

As I glided toward her, she moved back, but I didn’t stop walking closer. She finally stopped moving when her back hit the bookshelf. Covering the space between us, I stared at her, my eyes filled with nothing but hatred and anger. She couldn't look me in the eyes—her gaze was fixed on the ground.

How could she enter my library? Have I been too soft on her? Where did she get the audacity from? My mind swirled with questions as I stared at her.

“I asked Nova to bring my water, not you,” I muttered, my voice low but terrifying.

I expected her to quiver more, but instead, she raised her head. Our gazes locked.

“I insisted on serving you the water. She has nothing to do with this,” she defended.

I smirked. Finally, I found someone I could use to threaten her—Nova. I never knew she cared so much about a maid. She’s the kind of type.

Without another word, I moved away from her and settled on the couch. “Leave,” I ordered.

She disappeared from the library, my anger subsiding as she left. Thank goodness I was fast enough to enter. The book contained three of her father's personal pictures—one of him walking to his car, another of him in his suit, and the third, a picture of him with Amaya at the beach.

My informant had trailed them and gotten those pictures. If she saw them, she would start suspecting my quest for revenge. She would eventually find out, but not now. After I ruined her, she’d know then.

As I rested my head against the couch, my eyes closed, my mind raced with the best way to punish Amaya. She must be punished for disobeying me and invading my privacy.

THE NEXT DAY

My eyes flickered open. Slowly, I sat up on the couch. I had slept in my library last night, too engrossed in planning Amaya’s punishment. Thankfully, I found one. The kind that would make her tear up.

I stood, steadying myself as I glided out of the library. As soon as I reached the living room, my gaze met Nova; she was mopping the floor. She quickly bowed when she saw me. “Good morning, sir.”

“Stop cleaning,” I ordered.

Nova quickly packed the mop and bucket and took them to the store. She returned to me. “What would you like to have for breakfast?” she asked.

I didn’t reply. Instead, I gazed at the neatly arranged living room. Then, snapping my attention back to Nova, I barked, “I didn’t ask you to clean. Put everything back the way it was.”

Nova hesitated for a moment before starting to disarrange the pillows on the couch.

“You are suspended for giving Amaya my water yesterday,” I added. “Leave when you’re done. Wait till I call you back.”

As I ascended the stairs, I glanced back at Nova. Sadness was etched on her face. Should I just let her be? I thought, but my inner mind responded with a big NO. Amaya wouldn't know the kind of devil she was dealing with. I needed to threaten her with everything she held dear. That way, she would adhere to instructions.

I chuckled at my ultimate decision. I didn’t think I was the devilish one—my mind was the bad one.

After entering my room, I took a cold shower and dressed in a black shirt and white trousers. I put on my flip-flops and grabbed my phone, messaging Camilla to handle my schedule with my personal assistant. I wouldn’t be going to work.

I knew how shocked my employees would be. This was the first time I would miss a day at work. Even when I was sick, I still worked. Well, they shouldn't be too surprised—revenge is so crazy that it'd make you do things you vowed not to do.

After successfully sending the message, I returned to the living room, smirking at how Nova had disarranged it. Seemed like she took her anger out on the poor room. I checked the kitchen—she wasn’t there. She had probably left. Finally, there was no one to witness Amaya’s suffering.

I slumped onto the couch, crossing my legs as I watched TV. My bride was such a sleepyhead. Why the heck wasn’t she awake yet?

The clinking sound from the stairs forced my gaze away from the television. My eyes landed on Amaya, and my jaw dropped as I stared blankly at her.

Does she have a mission to seduce me?

My gaze moved over her—her hair was neatly packed in a ponytail, and the mini red short gown stopped just below her ass. The V-neck design made her boobs pop out so perfectly. Her shoulders, neck, chest, and thighs… everything looked so delicious.

I was lost for words. She seemed to notice my piercing stare and sudden silence.

Why was I so intrigued by this?

I had seen many women who looked even sexier, and I had ignored them. Why did she have such an effect on me?

My inner mind warned me not to move closer to her, but it fell on deaf ears.

Taking a few steps closer, I grasped her waist. Only a few inches separated us as we stared at each other. Her lips were parted, as if in surprise.

Why was she so shocked?

I was the victim here; she seduced me!

Gazing at her lips, I couldn’t resist the urge to taste them again. Slowly, my head lowered, my eyes set with determination to claim her lips.

Suddenly, my phone's ringtone filled the air.

I raised my head, startled by the abrupt sound that snapped me back to my senses.

What was I trying to do?

Kiss her?

Hell no.

I moved away from her, my once admiring gaze shifting to one of disdain.

“Why are you dressed like this?” I asked, glaring hard at her. I couldn’t shake the thought that she had just controlled me with her sinful body.

“I… I…”

I grabbed my phone from the couch.

“Clean everywhere before I return,” I ordered.

Without sparing her another glance, I walked out of the mansion, inwardly thanking Maxon for calling at that moment.

If he hadn’t called, I would have kissed Alfred’s daughter.

Hell no!

If he had, maybe things would’ve been different. But no, Erica—my crazy friend—keeps offering advice that only leads me into more trouble.I sighed, gazing at the disheveled living room. What happened here? An earthquake?Wasn’t there supposed to be a maid in this house? Why is it such a mess?“Madam Nova!” I called as I made my way to the kitchen, but she was nowhere to be found. Maybe she went out? I paused, thinking about Logan’s words. He had clearly told me to clean up before he came back.“He must have made Nova do this,” I muttered as realization hit me.Was I a murderer in a past life? Maybe God is punishing me for my previous life’s crime by making me cross paths with Logan. LOGAN'S POV“Why did you hate me?”The question sounded unbelievable in my ears. Did Amaya really ask me that? She must be out of her mind.“You hurt your finger, not your brain,” I snapped. “Stop asking dumb questions.”I rolled my eyes, trying to calm my anger. How could she ask me that? After everything her father had done to my family, she still dared to ask why I hated her. Even though she was innocent of her father's crimes, she should still know her place. I was currently fighting the urge to kill her.Returning my gaze to the television, my attention was broken by Maxon, who started laughing awkwardly—obviously trying to make Amaya feel better.People often wondered how Maxon and I became friends. We were complete opposites. Maxon was cheerful, caring, and understanding. However, all his attributes contrasted with mine. I wasn't surprised by his caregiving attitude toward Amaya.“This is so funny, isn't it?” Maxon laughed, and I smirked, amused by his stupid, witty words in su

AMAYA'S POVAs my gaze locked with Logan, I couldn't think about anything other than his unique features. I knew he was handsome, but looking up closer, he was even more handsome. What am I even doing? He wronged me hours ago—why did I forget about his hurtful words and actions? Why do I care about his handsomeness?“The light is back,” he muttered, snapping me out of my reverie. I flinched, moving away from him, calmly expecting the consequences of my foolishness. I keep on doing things to annoy him.I stood in front of him, awaiting his response.“Go and sleep in your room,” he muttered, and left. Just like that! He didn’t say anything more. What’s happening? This is unlike the man I married; he would have flared up and threaten to punish me.Why did he leave? Did Maxon advise him to stop being mean to me? Thoughts swirled in my mind, and I couldn’t give answers to any of them. I concluded that the man I was married to was not someone I could understand. As I always did, I listene

LOGAN'S POV “Lick it off with your tongue.” I ordered, staring directly at her. I get what I wanted from her, a depressed look with a pang of fear in her eyes. I need to put her back in her place. She must have thought highly of herself from the day I almost kissed her. The mistake will not repeat itself; she is Amaya, a daughter to my family's greatest enemy. I am sure my father would be so proud to watch Alfred's daughter suffer in the hands of his son. “Are... you saying I should... lick this off?” She asked, her trembling voice giving the words another pronunciation entirely. “You heard me right.” I replied, a hint of amusement in my voice as I watched my wife quivering. “I think you make a mistake__You wanted to tell me to clean it. There is no way I could lick coffee off the ground.” Amaya expressed, her tone slow and steady. “Your corrections are wrong. I am saying you should lick the coffee on the ground.” I smirked, my voice dripping with authority. Amaya slowly sho

AMAYA'S POV My smile deepened, but it wasn’t real. It was forced—something I did out of fear, not happiness. Logan’s taunting words still echoed in my head, a reminder that my life is crumbling. He was winning. Even my own father barely acknowledged me, like I didn’t matter. Can I even call the man who visited my father my father? He was hardly the same person who raised me. My real father would never wave at me, would never ignore me. The man who visited today was Mr. Alfred, not my real father.Logan pulled me to a couch, positioning us opposite my father. We all wore smiles, and I knew they were nothing but a façade. As I settled beside Logan, I couldn’t stop myself from staring at my father. What happened to him? The father I had grown up with seemed to have disappeared. How could he forget me so easily?“You are both adorable. LOGAN'S POV“Let’s have breakfast,” I uttered, staring at Amaya, who also stared back. Why is she looking at me like that? Is she doubting my generosity?“It’s not a choice, it’s an order. You must have breakfast.” I muttered, snapping her out of her thoughts. She slowly sat on the bed, unable to stop gazing at me. I didn’t find it uncomfortable—I knew exactly how shocked she must have felt. The same person who made her lick spilled coffee is now calling her for breakfast.Yeah, it happens. I have a master’s degree in confusion. I graduated as the best student. Confusion is something I can cause freely.“Did you make breakfast?” Amaya asked in her usual soft, timid voice.“Who else would make it? Nova isn’t at home. Come downstairs,” I replied, shutting the door before walking back to the dining room. I sat on the chair, impatiently waiting for Amaya. After a few minutes, she appeared, her movements deliberate as she sat far away from me. I chuckled. Did I become a devil overnight? I

AMAYA'S POVI stared at my laptop screen; I pressed my lips together, preventing myself from laughing. I clicked on input to finish the design on my latest masterpiece—Logan in a pink bunny costume. It was absurd, completely ridiculous. I couldn't help but laugh; maybe it was the oversized ears or the tiny carrot he held like some kind of CEO-approved weapon. Either way, the sight of it makes me release a chuckle. A mocking one.If Logan ever saw this, he’d probably throw me out of the window. Not that I cared. He already forced me to have breakfast this morning. My smile faded as I leaned back against the pillow, my arms crossed. Did he really think I’d just eat whatever he served me? After everything he had done? After making me lick coffee off the floor like a slave? No way.I ate the food, pretended to enjoy it, and then ran straight to my room to vomit it all out. Trusting Logan was like trusting a lion to be vegan—it just wasn’t happening.Still, even if I didn’t trust him and

The picture of me that she was designing was hilarious, but it represents talent.Although I did not appreciate whatever talent she is claiming to have. Instead of appreciating her, I want to crush her self-esteem and make her doubt herself in what she is doing. I smirked at my own devilish thoughts. As I pulled off my jacket, my phone rang, piercing the silence in the room. It was Maxon; I knew what he wanted to say. He wants to ask me why I wasn’t at work; he must have found it confusing since I am not the type of man to put work aside, even if it’s the weekend.Picking up the call, Maxon’s voice rang through the room. “Where the heck are you? Are you not feeling well?” He asked, his tone devoid of genuine concern.I took off my T-shirt. “I am busy with my wife.” His sarcastic laughter echoed through the speaker. His reaction earned a smirk from me, but I continued getting dressed. “You’re fallin

Not like this.My hands gripped the steering wheel so tightly my knuckles turned white, but it wasn’t enough to still the anxiety clawing at my chest. If I had called the ambulance, it would have taken longer. I'd rather spend less time and drive her myself. In five minutes, I drove into the hospital. I quickly stepped out of my car and carried her inside."An emergency? Here, please," a nurse directed, and I placed Amaya on a bed."Where the heck is the doctor? Are you just going to stay here and watch her die?" LOGAN'S POVI stared at Amaya's back as she walked out of the ward.I smirked, trying to control the tears threatening to burst out. I even sniffed, pretending to cry, but she only paused briefly before continuing to walk away.I don't even know why I wanted to cry. Maybe it’s because Beatrice is in the CPR room, fighting for her life all because I chose Amaya—or maybe it's because Amaya has been acting distant since she woke up. Why can’t I just order her to stop? I was practically begging for her attention with the way I sniffed.I sighed as my mum’s words replayed in my mind. “You are in love with her!”No.I can never be in love with a woman like Amaya. She deserves nothing but my wrath.I was jolted out of my thoughts when Maxon entered.I had called him earlier and explained everything to him. Beatrice’s voice dripped with authority and disdain. She stared at me, waiting, but I had no response. She had always known me as Alfred’s daughter—there was no need for introductions.“I know why you’re around Logan, confusing him, playing the clueless wife because you don’t know why he married you. He maltreated you before, didn’t he?" Beatrice smiled, her tone laced with mockery.Slowly, I lifted my head and met her gaze. Now, I was interested. AMAYA'S POVThe moment those words left my mouth, I realized I had been cursed. There must be a witch out there who hates me and has decided to use me as a vessel for self-destruction.The truth is, I had been thinking about Logan since he kissed me and left this morning, but I never expected myself to say something that crazy out loud.I don’t think I’m the cursed one, though—my mind is. I’ve been rehearsing how I was going to ask him to kiss me again since morning.I was trying to remind myself of the reality of my marriage, but his cruelty isn’t lingering.I guess even the angels want me to suffer.I tilted my head, trying to get a better view of Logan’s expression. He was smirking. That alone proved how doomed I was. At least a man should act surprised for once. I had never seen Logan caught off guard. He was always ready for any words or actions.“I’m sure you didn’t make a mistake. LOGAN'S POV The moment Camilla hugged me, I knew I had made a mistake. I realized Beatrice wasn't just being controlling, she had saved me when she instructed me to come back home. I can't believe Camilla is here, causing a scene over a kiss—over a night that never even happened. I pushed her off slightly and glanced at Amaya. Her expression was unmistakable—hurt and heartbroken—but I wasn’t ready to dwell on her emotions. In a swift motion, I glided closer to Amaya, grabbed her waist, and crushed my lips against hers. She froze. I could see the shock in her eyes. Instead of breaking the kiss, I pulled her even closer, pushing my tongue inside her mouth. But just as she was about to reciprocate… I stopped, stepping away from her. “I’ll see you when I’m back.” I winked. Gliding to the door, I shifted my gaze to Camilla, who was obviously stunned and absentminded. “Meet me in the car,” I ordered before leaving the house. Outside, I slid into my car, and within seconds

AMAYA'S POV“Shut it! I don’t freaking care,” Logan snapped at me before walking back upstairs.I furrowed my brows, confusion colliding with curiosity.Earlier, Maxon had claimed Logan decided not to go to work because of his wife. Does he have another wife somewhere else? Or… is Maxon saying he’s been skipping work because of me?The craziest part was when Logan accused me of letting Maxon treat my wound. The only reason a man would react that way is jealousy. I’ve seen countless actors act like that when they’re jealous someone is close to their lover. But jealousy? That seems impossible. Logan can never be jealous. He isn’t human—he lacks feelings. Just like the way he’s tormented me for months."He saved you from the hands of a real devil!" my inner voice screamed. The memory of Logan lifting the table from my head and arguing with his mother flashed through my mind.Even in my tough situation, I couldn’t help but smile. He looked so cool.Oh no!What the heck am I doing?Shaking
