Three police cars, a van, an ambulance, and a taxi that carried Dimitri, Aiden, and Caleb stopped right in front of a bad-looking off-white house that looked like it would collapse anytime soon. Quickly the police came out of their respective cars and the head of them gave instructions as to where they would stand and check for her while the paramedics opened the back door as they await a call for them. The trio came out of the taxi and Dimitri walked straight to the building with determined steps but was stopped by the officer conducting the search. “I understand how you feel Mr. Lorenzo but you will have to stand back and let us do our job. I already told you that you couldn’t come but you were stubborn to listen and still came. Just stand back and we will check everywhere to look for her.” Dimitri threw him a hard glare and sized him up then ignored his talk and began to walk past him when the officer pushed him back as he was already losing his patience with him. “I will not a
After they had rescued Audriana and brought her to the hospital, Dimitri informed her parents, his parents, Sofia, Emily, and Max so they came to the hospital to see how she was doing. Thankfully there wasn’t much damage done to her aside from the fact that she was dehydrated, lacked food for some days, and hit on the side of her face. Then they found some traces of drugs in her system which were flushed out, other than that, she is good. The doctor who treated Dimitri was the one attending to her and when he came out of her room he explained all that was found and said they could go see her then advised that they brought fruit for her. Dimitri volunteered to go get her the fruits while they would go in to check on how she was feeling and express their happiness about her being found. On his way outside the hospital, his phone rang and he didn’t bother checking for the caller ID, thinking it was Aiden calling to inform him about the situation there. “Hello man, did you find anyth
When they all left his gaze met with hers and she gasped before looking away so quickly. It made him smile and he walked over to her, still looking at her then placed the fruit bag on her lap before sitting on the chair beside the bed. She looked at him and caught him still looking at her so to distract her mind from all the hazy feeling his looks were giving her she looked into the nylon and flashed him a smile before going for the tangerine which caught her attention at first. “You like tangerine?” he asked and she nod her head. Note taken. “How are you feeling?” he asked and she cleared her throat before answering him. “Much better, how are you?” “I am good and it should be you I should keep asking,” he told her which made her roll her eyes. “It's good to hear your voice and see your pretty face again,” he said and she paused from eating the last of her tangerine then looked up at his watching eyes before a frown graced her face. She said nothing about the compliment and bow
“Don’t tell me you still have some more clothes to pack?” he asked her but she was already rushing to go upstairs quickly. “I wouldn’t be long, I promise” she shouts and he heard a door opening then after some minutes it closes back with her rushing down the stairs quickly. “Be careful and don’t fall” he told her. She didn’t fall and came to stand in front of him with a smile on her face then held her coat she went to fetch minutes ago and her bag. “Aww… you care so much about me,” she said then poked his chest and he scoffed. “I warned you because I wouldn't help you up rather I would laugh at your clumsiness” he shrugged, her mouth dropped open and the smile was replaced with a frown. “You are mean” she walked angrily away from him. “Thanks?” he followed behind her and closed the door when they were outside. “Jerk” she muttered but made sure it was loud enough for him to hear before strolling to the car. “Hold up, hold up” he went to grab her wrist and turned her to look at
They had been here in Madrid, the capital of Spain for the past four days and Audriana didn’t feel like going back home next week as planned. She wanted them to stay longer and enjoy the spirit of holidaying that overcame them these past few days. It had been really enjoyable for not only her but for Dimitri also who enjoyed showing her his hometown, some of the places he had been to with his family while growing up, and some of his and his brother's hideouts. He also pointed out his elementary school and high school before they moved to New York where they all settled for a while. He told her some part of the story though, how he was the rebellious one and Cade was the one who was putting him on track. He said there was a place he and Cade would go to and hide out when they wanted out of the world and to just stay in peace and quiet. When she asked if his parents were aware of their escapades he nodded and said they trusted Cade to watch over him since he was the only one who see
“So, this is like where you guys hang out?” she asked him while looking around the small green-filled garden he brought her to and also taking a bite from the apple she grabbed from the basket. He looked at her with a small frown etched on his face as she ate some part of the apple and then put the rest on a plate when she was done eating it at different sides. Her brown eyes met with his hazel ones and she widened hers as she was not expecting him to be watching her even though he does that knowingly and unknowingly to her. They returned back to their normal size and she looked away from him and then focused her gaze on the small water fountain that was in front of them. When they entered inside, they were met with the water fountain, and to the right was a passageway leading somewhere, and by the left was a small house thing which she was yet to ask him about since all they talked about for the past minutes were things about themselves. Plays they went to while growing up, thing
She really didn’t understand what this was all about… The feelings, her hammering heart that banged against her ribcage as he softly strokes her skin, and how she flushes because she could feel his gaze on top of her head. Not knowing whether to look at him or just stay like that and continue flushing till her cheeks are too hot to flush. ‘The things he does to me’ she said in her mind. “Are you sleeping?” his chest vibrated as he spoke and it made her heart skip. “Er… n-no” she squeaked out and wanted to smack her head for sounding like that. Who could blame her? When she is this close to him and her heart is reacting badly to him more than ever. Maybe it is love, she doesn’t know but she is aware of how much he affected her. His words, his actions, how reacts to things… all of it gets to her and some make her want to kick him in the ass and while others want her to wrap her arms around him and be close to him forever. Will they get the contract over with when all the issues a
He told her about all the escapades he and his brother went on, how many trips they went to, and how Cade would volunteer for some charity events that he would go ahead with because he was really trying his best to be like his brother and wanted to make him and his parents proud of him. How he was a big brother to not just him but Aiden and Caleb, when he left and how he would call him many times to ask him when he would be back home and all those. Then how they received the news of his death and how his remains which were unrecognizable were brought back home for burial. He was cremated and she could hear the sadness in his voice as he spoke about what happened during those times. His parents tried to be strong for him and themselves and how badly he took it by drinking and going back to all those things his brother was against him doing. She felt his pain and would wipe out the tears that fell from his eyes when he told her. “I understand for a fact that your brother played a ma
… Six months later … “Here you go” Sofia handed her a glass of juice and a plate of snacks, she sat on the couch beside her and rubs her really visible bump. “Thank you” she sniffed the snack then scrunch her nose as she looks at Sofia who frowned at what she did. “Did you make this with fish?” she asks. “No?” Audriana’s brow rose and she shrugged “Maybe there was some fish seasoning added but there isn’t much of that inside,” she says. “I am not eating that, I feel disgusted, no offense” Audriana dropped the plate on the table and looks at her friend who was irritated. “Well, for your information lady, my pregnant ass is offended and I am eating them because I am craving them” she took the plate and starts eating from the plate. “I am sorry ma’am, I…” Audriana sighs and placed the glass of juice on the table then turns fully to her friend who gave her full attention “I… I have been so stressed these couple of days” she said. “Oh baby, what’s going on? Still on that Daniella’s c
“Do you feel okay today?” he asked and she nods then lay back on the bed properly while he packed the plate they just finished eating with. It’s been a few days since that incident and they are slowly accepting what happened and wanted to move on. Dimitri had been shuffling between coming to spend time with her, going to work, and helping to find out what caused the blast that took his baby and nearly took his wife’s life. “I feel okay, I guess,” she said to him then moved a bit so that he can sit properly on her bed “I still feel weak though” she chuckled and he took her hand then kissed her knuckles and palm. “No one is expecting you to jump back on your feet so soon, we are still in the beginning stage of our healing so easy does it” he leaned in and pecked her. “We’ll be good, okay?” he whispered then kissed her cheek and leaned back. “Thanks for being here” “You don’t need to thank me, everything will be good” he nods and she nods too. “Do you need anything else?” “No, I am
It was evening already and he was woken by one of the nurses who told him to step out for a while so that they could check Audriana properly. He sat up on the couch and looked past the nurse to his wife who looked a bit pale and had no smile on her face as she responds to whatever she’s been asked by the doctor that was sitting on the stool beside her with a clipboard in his hand. “Is she okay?” he looked back at the nurse “She has no memory loss?” he asked and the nurse shook her head. “She will be fine sir but please step out for a while,” she tells him and he nods then stood up on his feet and looked back at his wife to see that she was already looking at him then she tore her gaze from him and back to the doctor. For that brief moment that their eyes met, he felt his knees go weak and the urge to cry for what she will come to know of made his heart heavy. He blinked several times and walked out of the room with wobbly legs. When he was outside, he saw only Aiden sitting outsid
“Yes, I am Dimitri Lorenzo” he walked closer to him. “Doctor please, how is my wife? Where is she?” he asked looking hopefully at the doctor. “Please be calm Mr. Lorenzo… my name is Chargo Arrivederci, I am the doctor in charge of Mrs. Lorenzo’s case” he introduced himself and held his hand out for a handshake. Reluctantly, Dimitri accepted it and kept asking about his wife. “According to the reports we were told when she was brought in, it was a blast that prompted her to be here, and seeing that she hadn’t been in any way close to where the blast happened, is a good thing” he explained. Dimitri’s face softened and he began to relax from what the doctor was explaining but he still needed to be sure. “So, she’s fine? She’s okay?” “Well, like I said the blast did nothing to her only that when she was brought in, she was bleeding so bad, and when we checked the cause of the bleeding sir… I am so sorry, but we tried our best” he said. Heart sinking… that was exactly how he was feel
“Okay, sure… just give me updates on how it's improving, and one of these days I will come over to see how far you guys have gone with testing,” she said over the phone as she made her way out of the university building and to the car park that was outside the compound where she had parked. “Thank you so much for your help with fishing out who was behind the disruption of the model we thought had failed testing, it means a lot to me and my dad… yeah, I am aware that you are a long-term employee here and I appreciate your honesty so thank you Mr. Hans” she thanked. Finally, they were able to pull out all the bad weeds in their company and employ fresh talents looking to grow in the field… now they are testing another model and hope that this time no one messes with it, especially now that they have heavy security watching the engineers overlooking the project. “Thank you once again and I will call you later,” she said and disconnect the call then walked out of the university’s compou
The past weeks have been really stressful and it’s taking a huge toll on Dimitri. Him following up with his secret investigations to put Daniella Copello behind bars for good this time and him asking himself countless times if he should go get his wife now or not. He has been battling that within him every single day and would sometimes go to Sofia’s apartment building and stay at the angle where her window was to just catch a grasp of her. He had gone there multiple times to the extent that a resident that didn’t recognize him told him that she would report his creepy routine if he came back to creep on the window he looks at every time comes around that area so he stopped going, even a disguise wouldn’t help. So, he got news about her well-being from Aiden frequently and it brought him some sort of peace that she was okay but just trying to cope with their little space as he calls it. It is never a separation, it is just them having space to figure things out. He would be comple
It has been less than twenty-four hours since she left and he was still seated in the same position that he was in from the previous day, only that he was leaning his back on his tie shelf and his long legs were sprawled on the floor. He slept that way and was sure to get an aching back, shoulder, and numb butt if he moves a muscle. How everything just went from smiles and flirting to cries, sadness, and moving out was way beyond him… he caused it this time and he feels ashamed that he couldn’t tell her on time and couldn’t even give her an answer as to whether he loves her or not. He hasn’t fully sorted out Daniella’s feelings yet and coming to a conclusion that he loves her when he hadn’t concluded if he still feels for his ex or not would be too much and would hurt badly. “I’m stupid” he muttered and closed his eyes whilst releasing a sigh. A headache suddenly hit the side of his head and he grimaced at the attack then let out a groan and adjusted his body against the shelf beh
“Are you sure you are okay?” he asked her and she nod her head and wiped the fresh tears that rolled down her cheeks. “I’m fine thank you” she responded with a forced smile and he nods they just looked at her and wished he could see Dimitri so he could land his fist on his face. “Do you need me to walk you in?” “No, it's fine… I can manage from here, you’ve done enough” she sniffed again and he smiled and then gave her hand a comforting squeeze. “I told him not to hurt you and he did exactly that” he let out a sigh and tighten his grip on the steering wheel as he voice out what was on his mind. “I wish I could give him a piece of my mind right now and…” “Philip… It's fine, I am fine and it's just a minor issue between a husband and wife and we will figure things out soon” she squeezed his hand that held her and offered him a smile and it was a genuine one. ‘I hope’ she wanted to add but didn’t want to say anything more about what happened between her and her husband to him or ju
It was a look of intimate familiarity and that was one of the reasons she felt hurt now she is thinking ‘what if she is just putting too much meaning to what she saw?’ He might actually be irritated by her and her doings but with how she was feeling at the moment, she couldn’t see things that way… he felt like he needed that hug from her when she entered and saw them like that. ‘He didn’t hug her back’ her mind told her but she ignored it and proceed to ask her previous question. “Do you still have feelings for her?” she asked one more time and got her answer when he didn’t answer. She bit her bottom lip to stifle a sob then looked at him with the tears pooling out of her eyes and down her cheeks. “So, you still love her,” she said and he didn’t say anything but just looked at her. They stared into each other eyes with hurt written all over their face. “You don’t need to do this,” he said after a while and she shook her head and then closed her eyes as the tears kept coming down
