I watch the silent exchange between Liam and Daniel, observing how they glare at each other with intense hatred. These two must detest each other so much. And what did Liam mean by Daniel tried to kill him? Did he mean that figuratively or...?

Daniel doesn't bother denying the allegation. His lips curl into a bitter smirk and adjusts his suit before fixing his gaze on me. The space between his eyebrows crinkle on seeing me.

“Who's this?” His voice is tinged with something. I can't really tell but it makes my skin crawl.

I don't know why I feel the need to jump in and respond, “Hi, I'm Rayne. I'm Liam's—”
