Tony put his phone in his pocket and left the dining room. As he passed the new painting on the wall, he made sure not to look at the ugly piece.
If it wasn’t for Venice’s fragile mental health, he would have told her outright that the painting was an abomination that shouldn’t see the light of day.
Nevertheless, the poor girl had managed to get through a three-month stay at a rehab facility without attempting to escape as she did before. It was commendable and this little creation from her was her thoughtful way of thanking him for convincing her to get help for her addiction.
