Still at the Beginning

Hey there, lover girl, I never said I wanted to tell you that, and I don’t think you are supposed to be screaming or crying right now or don’t you think?”

I raised my hand and slapped her hard, she glared at me and smiled back.

“I was about saying it’ll fast up your death which will be in favor of us if only you had allowed me to end my sentence.” She snatched Brandon’s top from me and went to his side, giving it to him.

“What did I ever do wrong to you Brandon, what did I do? I’ve loved and cherished you every single day, even when you wronged me, I just turned blind to it. Your toxic traits, the way you do things, I’ve never.” I cried in immense pain.

Even if someone will betray me, I would have begged it shouldn’t be these two. Kath might be a pain in the ass but I still loved her so much.

She does have a way of getting into me anytime she wronged me and her persistence in always pursuing what she wanted made me love her a lot that I announced to everyone that she was my long lost sister.

“But I just don’t want to believe what I said, it might be a hallucination, it’s too vague to believe.” I ran to Brandon, holding his hand tightly hoping I’ll wake up from this dream. But I wasn’t, my tears were slowly flowing down.

He pushed me off roughly which made me fall down to the ground hurting my knees in the process, “Ouch.” I winced.

“Why will you think of it as a hallucination, like are you that dumb enough to keep losing your mind every second, this is why I chose Kath over you. She’s so smart, beautiful and a damsel.”

“I mean who wouldn’t love a damsel like her.” He pecked her lips saying that she laughed it off, “That’s why I’ve loved and lay low for years while tolerating this bastard who came and destroyed everything.” She rolled her eyes.

“Your presence irritates me a lot, I’ve tried to keep up with it for 3 years, since we had been dating. Since I had no choice but to get married to you, I just have to do it to earn your trust so you’ll sign the company over to my name but you took long enough.”

I don’t see any reason why Brandon will want my company so much, “Why do you even need my company? You are rich enough Brandon so why?”

“Yea, I needed it to give to my love, Kath and will you ignore the fact that my company was running on losses and on the verge of bankruptcy.”

My breathing is rising every minute, with tears clouding my eyes. I couldn’t sort out what I was feeling.

Was it anger, pain, emptiness, anxiety, or betrayal? I just felt null. “When has this been going on?” The question I hoped he wouldn’t respond to, he asked himself.

I shook my head hoping he wouldn’t say anything anymore, he was toying with my brain and emotion.

“Simple. This affair started on the night of your birthday, September 20. Hold on, that should be our first year together as my fiancée.” His laughter was driving me insane, I felt like punching him right in the face.

“I said enough.” I screamed, my tears came flooding out. “I trusted you two, when you knew you loved her instead of me, why didn’t you save me the pain of being hurt by you now after 3 years of nothingness? Why didn’t you seek her hand in marriage instead of proposing to me huh?”

I stood up, feeling dizzy at first, I tried to relax my mind, cleaning my tears while aiding myself with the bedroom door handle.

“You both are terrible and a bad combination, do you think if he could betray me, who was his lover for 3 years for you who had nothing, do you think he wouldn’t hesitate to betray you if he had bigger opportunities. You were just a tool to get what he want. A fool to each other.” I said making my way out to the front door.

“How dare you?” I heard Kath scream from behind, I looked back to see what was wrong but I was pushed which caught me out guard as I slipped, hitting my head on the center table which was on the ground.

I couldn’t feel life within me, my whole body and heart felt numb. Blood was gushing out from my head and I was gasping for breath.

“Please, if anyone can hear me, please save me. Just one more chance.” My voice fainted, I could hear Kath calling my name from a distance.

“I think she’s dead. What should we do now?” Everything sounds distant and low. “Let’s get out of here, if anybody asks, tell them you weren’t around and you had no idea who could have done this.”

“We can easily say she felt dizzy because she had blood cancer.”

I closed my eyes slowly as I fade into darkness.

«October 28, 2022: Wedding reception»

I shut my eyes as the light was too bright at first, what was happening? Am I in heaven already?

I could hear loud claps which made me open my eyes. In front of me were a bunch of people who were looking at me.

“The bride can now come in.” I was confused, staring at the way before me, it looked more like a wedding reception or was it?

I looked beside me and saw a flier. And in it, it was October 28, 2022, I staggered backwards, shocked at the sight before me.

What’s going on? Why am I in the past? And if I’m correct enough, today was my wedding day.

The door opened and Brandon came out looking handsome as usual, he walked towards me and stopped beside me.

He held out his hands for me to take which I could have if I hadn’t seen what he had done, “What are you doing?” He smiled.

“What?”

“We need to walk to the altar.” That was his response.
