"Ava, hurry! H-Harper's been in an accident. She's unconscious," Amelia's voice trembles, choking on her words. My heart races, erratic and wild, as I jump out of bed, fumbling and disoriented. I can't seem to gather my thoughts, moving from one spot to another, unsure what to do next.

Panic rises as I dash back to my room, trying not to wake Mom. I quickly throw on some clothes, my mind racing with fear and questions.

Her car is still in the driveway, so she must have taken a cab, just like I plan to do. How is she? Is she getting the help she needs? I hope she's okay. The thoughts swirl as I rush
