"Yes, I love him, Mum," I replied with a smile.

"Thank you so much, Mom," I added sincerely.

"Don’t mention it," she said.

"But, Mom, how do you deal with a man who has a big ego?" I inquired.

She laughed, saying, "You mean all men? Yes, my daughter, all men have egos. Manage it, okay?" she laughed. "Love can soften even the largest egos," my mom continued. "It's about finding a balance between expressing your own needs and understanding his perspective. Communication is key; let him know how you feel, and encourage him to share his thoughts too. It's a journey of compromise and growing together."

As her words sank in, I felt a sense of comfort and guidance.

"Okay, Mommy, I appreciate you," I said as she left for her room.

"But I was ready to make things work with Josh, no matter what, and to do that, we had to have open communication."
