Dangerous game

Rome was calling not too far away when he heard Ophelia scream. He dropped the call and rushed to where the voice came from.

He saw Ophelia holding a box of rings. Crying and shaking all over.

“What happened?” He asked unhurriedly.

“It's Celine” Ophelia murmured pointing towards the pool.

Looking in that direction, he understood what she was saying, he off his jacket urgently and dived into the pool. He carried Celine's body out and she was still bleeding profusely.

Thankfully, she is still breathing and she did not hit her vitals. He was still doing CPR on her when everyone rushed out.

“What happened!?” Old man Sinclair yelled!

“Call an ambulance!” Rome commanded without raising his head.

His father left the scene to call an ambulance.

Mrs. Sinclair was shocked at the whole scenario, she looked at the shaking Ophelia and saw the engagement rings she got for her son and Celine in her hand.

“You Crazy freak!” She exclaimed walking closer to Ophelia she slapped her hard across the face. And collect the box from her. She gave it to a maid to take it upstairs.

How can you push her because you are jealous, who told you Rome is going to marry you? Mrs. Sinclair cried out.

“Mom!” Rome yelled. We can't decide if she pushed Celine yet, after all, no one was here when it happened.

Hot tears fell from Ophelia’s face. She wanted to talk but she couldn't find the right words to say after all, everyone would believe she pushed Celine.

“Why can't we decide?” all evidence is pointing against her Old man Sinclair roared.

We can decide when Celine is awake, we can't say Ophelia is the culprit here. Mr. Sinclair said walking towards Ophelia.

“She will be okay!” he assured.

“The ambulance is here!” a maid said running towards them.

They moved Celine inside the ambulance and both Old Man Sinclair and Mrs. Sinclair followed them.

After being persuaded by his father Rome finally took his car and followed the ambulance.

Mr. Sinclair helped Ophelia inside. He showed her the room and asked her to freshen up.

She thanked him. And settled in the room.

After a while, an Old maid came with food and a new cloth.

“Thanks!” Ophelia said moving from the corner where she was sitting.

“Don’t worry!” Celine has always been a cunning girl. She framed younger master Dave 2yrs ago also turning this household into a mess. The Old woman said trying to console Ophelia.

“You mean Dave?” Ophelia said cleaning her tears.

Yes! That girl is so cunning that she framed Dave 2 years ago and that was the last time he stepped a foot inside this house. He did not even come to Old Man Sinclair's birthday. The Old maid declared sitting beside Ophelia.

Hmm! What’s your name Mrs?. Ophelia asked with a faint smile.

Oh, you can call me sister Lana am the eldest maid in this house and I have been working here before Rome was given birth. The old woman said with a smile.

“Okay!” so sister Lana what can I do to save myself from this mess? Ophelia inquired hoping to find a better solution.

About that, I really can't say young lady. Even the young master was not an exception. But I prayed you are spared since Mr. Sinclair already took a liking to you. The old woman said sincerely.

“Okay!” Sister Lana your word is encouraging, Ophelia replied with a smile.

Don't cry anymore dear I wish you all the best. Sister Lana said before walking out of the room.

Ophelia droll on it for a while and the only person she could think about was Dave after all he had once promised to save her.

She looked at her phone hoping for a miracle but there were no messages. She can't even call him because she doesn't have his contact.

Celine had just finished her treatment and opened her eyes, after being questioned by Old Man Sinclair and Mrs. Sinclair she finally told them all the lies in her mouth.

I was only admiring her, and she asked me who the box am holding was for. I told her it was Rome and my engagement ring but she insisted on snatching it from me.

I tried to protect myself but she strangled me and collect it forcefully. After snatching it completely she pushed me inside the pool spearing no mercy. Celine narrated while crying profusely.

“Don't worry!” my daughter I will surely take revenge for you Mrs. Sinclair assured cleaning her tears for her.

Rome just stood by a side watching the whole scene with folded arms.

After Mrs. Sinclair was sure that Celine was okay she left with Old Man Sinclair.

“You expect me to believe all your nonsense schemes right!?” Ophelia can't even look you in the eyes how the hell can she attempt to kill you? Rome conveyed after he was sure everyone had left.

“You don't have any other options honey” You can only marry me and nobody else. Celine responded with a sarcastic smile.

“You are playing a dangerous game, Celine!” If there is a word about this on the news then trust me I will destroy you with everything you own. “You are just my crazy ex and nothing more”. Rome shouted angrily.

Y…you mean you will reveal the secrets about her? Celine asked already getting scarred.

Rome wanted to say something when his phone rang it was a call from Adrain.

“Hello,” he said after picking it up.

“A problem stirred up in the company and the management team demanded an audience immediately”. Adrain said on the other end.

“Okay will be there in a minute” Rome replied ending the call. Without saying anything more he took his jacket and left.

Celine bites her lips painfully. She took out her phone and dialed a number.

Come to the hospital now, and also a word about what about today should not get on the news. She commanded.

“Yes, ma!” The person on the other end replied with respect before ending the call.

After a while, the maids came back with Ophelia following behind.

“You evil girl!” I will make sure you end up in jail for what you did today. The old man said coldly.

“I did nothing” Ophelia said bodly, sending shivers down everyone's spine.

Everyone was shocked only Mr. Sinclair who was just descending the stairs smiled brightly he was happy because Ophelia could finally summon her courage to talk.

“You rat!” how dare you talk back to me. Old man Sinclair screeched.

You can't keep calling your daughter-in-law vulgar names, after all, she is Rome’s real wife Mr. Sinclair said taking a seat beside his wife.

Ignoring his word, Old Man Sinclair stood up in rage and raised his cane ready to beat Ophelia with it.

Ophelia closed her eyes waiting for the misery to strike her when a body suddenly covered hers.

Looking up she saw those familiar eyes, it was Dave the very person she had been expecting ever since she was sent for.
