Kylian's POV

I enjoyed surprising women with my culinary skills, relishing in their unexpected delight at finding out I was more than meets the eye. "The total package," I quipped to myself as I busied myself in the kitchen. For Yvonne, I had prepared a tantalizing meal of linguine with a rich homemade sauce, complemented by perfectly cooked steaks. The wine I selected was a perfect match for the occasion, adding an extra touch of elegance to the evening. Everything had to be flawless; after all, I needed to impress her, even if I had teased otherwise. This dinner was part of my strategy to win her over to my proposal.

Setting the candlestick on the table, I carefully placed the tall, white candle in its holder and lit it, casting a warm glow across the room. I knew the allure of a homemade candlelight dinner was hard to resist for any woman. Soft music wafted from the speakers in the ceiling, creating an ambiance of intimacy and romance. The lighting was just enough to create a cozy atmosphere without being too dim, and I dressed in a pair of slacks and a crisp white long-sleeved shirt, sleeves casually rolled up to just below my elbows.

I was all set, hoping fervently that she wouldn't stand me up. As soon as the door buzzer announced her arrival, I instructed the doorman to send her up. Waiting in the hallway, I was taken aback by how stunning she looked when the elevator doors opened.

"Hi," I greeted her, taking a step forward.

Her expression seemed to warn me to keep my distance, so I obliged, using the moment to admire her in the elegant black dress she wore. Her hair was artfully arranged in a loose bun, framing her face with delicate tendrils that softened her features.

"I'm here," she muttered, her tone lacking enthusiasm, but I welcomed her presence nonetheless, determined to chip away at her defenses.

"I'll pour you a glass of wine," I offered cheerfully, refusing to let her subdued mood dampen my spirits.

"Thank you," she replied, following me into the kitchen.

I noticed her glancing around at the pots and pans in the sink, and I quickly redirected her attention. "The steaks are ready to go. They've been marinating all day. Have a glass of wine while I fire up the grill," I suggested, eager to impress.

"You cooked this?" she asked, with genuine surprise.

"I must admit," I chuckled, "I did manage to impress you."

Her eyes widened slightly. "I'm impressed," she conceded.

With a playful wink, I teased, "Well, hold on tight, because you haven't seen anything yet, darling."

Glancing at her wine glass, she mused quietly, and I knew I had her intrigued once more.

"We'll have to put that to the test. I've encountered quite a bit in my time. Many promises made, few fulfilled," she murmured in a husky tone.

Her challenge was palpable, and I relished the back-and-forth banter. She brought a refreshing energy to our conversation.

"Why don't you take a seat in the dining room? Dinner will be ready in about six minutes," I suggested.

She shrugged casually. "Or I could stay here and witness your culinary prowess. Watching you in action sounds intriguing."

Turning to face her, I offered a smoldering gaze, enjoying her teasing nature. She had no clue the game she was playing.

"Your company would be most welcome," I replied, returning my attention to the cooking.

Once the steaks were cooked to perfection, I carried them to the dining room. She followed suit, carrying the wine bottle. We settled in and savored the meal before it lost its warmth.

Leaning back in her chair after finishing, she dabbed her mouth with a napkin. The soft candlelight bathed her in a golden glow, accentuating her beauty. My mind wandered, envisioning her in a different light.

I couldn't help but let my imagination run wild; the desire to see her naked, lingered in my thoughts.

"So, about this proposal, I need more specifics," she inquired.

"Specifics? Are you asking for a detailed plan on how I intend to impregnate you with my child?" I teased, noticing her blush.

She shook her head quickly. "No, not that detailed."

Smiling at her reaction, I said, "What kind of specifics are you looking for then?"

"What are your expectations from this fake engagement? Do we have to go as far as getting married?" she questioned.

I shrugged, considering the implications. "It might be necessary. I'm not entirely clear on the terms of the will. I know an heir needs to be produced, but I'm unsure if marriage is a requirement."

"You're so matter-of-fact about it. Are you planning on a clinical approach, like using a turkey baster?" she joked.

Her comment caught me off guard, nearly causing me to spill my wine. "That's not exactly how I envisioned it. I'm not even sure how that would work. But I'm open to exploring some fun aspects if that's what you're suggesting. I'm not opposed to adding excitement in the bedroom."

Her eyes widened in surprise. "No, that's not what I meant at all. I was asking about the logistics. Is this a one-time arrangement?"

I casually lifted a shoulder. "Well, that's up to you now, isn't it?" He questioned, "You have the means. Why not consult a professional?" I wrinkled my nose in response. "My equipment works perfectly fine," I countered.

She scoffed, her tone laden with implications. "I'm sure it gets plenty of use, which is a matter I'd like to discuss." I couldn't help but grin. "I'm healthy and cautious. That's why I haven't fathered a child by now."

"Perhaps I'd like some assurance," she challenged. I met her gaze playfully. "Interested in inspecting the merchandise?"

"You're quite sure of yourself," she noted.

"I know my abilities," I assured her. "Why don't we give it a try? Consider it a test run."

She shook her head, cutting to the chase. "You invited me here for sex, didn't you?"

"Maybe," I replied nonchalantly, pouring more wine. I was enjoying the evening. The sexual chemistry in the room was off the charts. I could practically taste it. No, it was my olfactory sense that was messing with me. I could taste vanilla when there was no vanilla in the food I had made. It was her scent.

"Yvonne, you can't deny there's a certain spark between us. Ever felt something like this before?" I inquired, my tone tinged with excitement.

She shrugged casually, masking her interest. "Yeah, maybe."

"You're breathtaking," I confessed softly, earning a curious yet amused look from her.

"Why the intense stare?" she questioned with a hint of a smirk.

"I'm imagining the ways I want to explore with you," I admitted boldly. "Your beauty is captivating. I can picture savoring every moment, appreciating every inch of you."

Her lips formed a small 'O,' her breathing audibly heavy. "And your lips. Oh, the possibilities," I murmured, my gaze fixated on her pretty, pouting mouth.

She shook her head as if trying to dispel my words. Leaning in closer, my hand ventured from her knee to her smooth thigh. "You're incredibly soft," I whispered, my voice barely above a breath.

"We shouldn't," she replied with a hint of uncertainty.

"Why not?" I challenged, meeting her gaze directly. "I can assure you, the pleasure will be unparalleled. Let me show you the ecstasy you've been missing. It's a no-strings-attached trial, a taste of what could be."

Setting down my glass, I rose from my seat, offering my hand to her, testing her resolve. When she accepted, allowing me to guide her to stand before me, I knew I had piqued her curiosity. Our proximity sparked a charged atmosphere, but I held back. I was the one who was running the show.

She met my gaze, her expression wary. "This feels risky," she admitted, her eyes briefly flicking to my lips.

"I believe you need to embrace a bit of adventure," I encouraged, meeting her eyes with determination.

"What if we're not... compatible?" she voiced her concern.

Smirking, I replied, "I'll prove time and again that we are. Let go, and I'll show you a world of pleasure. Together, we'll be perfect."

Her playful smile teased, "You seem quite sure of yourself."

"I've had my share of positive feedback," I shrugged confidently. "Maybe that's why."

"What if I accept your challenge, and you don't live up to your claims?" she whispered, her tone challenging.

Her challenge ignited a spark in me. "Is that a dare? Are you daring me to make you climax?" I countered, my voice low and confident.

She appeared a bit nervous, a reaction I expected. "It's not exactly a challenge. I just wonder if you truly know how to please a woman. Talk can be cheap," she remarked, her gaze steady.

"I assure you, there's nothing lacking," I asserted, reaching for her hand.

Her gasp indicated surprise as my hand moved between us. "What are you doing?" she exclaimed.

"I'm willing to let you explore," I offered boldly. "I'm not fully aroused yet, but your touch can change that."

She withdrew her hand abruptly. "No," she asserted firmly.

"I know you're curious," I persisted, unfazed. "I have nothing to hide."

There was a moment of hesitation, her resolve wavering. I could sense she was on the brink, just one touch away from being completely swayed. I reached out, lightly tracing her bare arm with my fingertips, gradually lifting her chin to meet my gaze. Despite her heels, she was almost eye-level with me, a proximity I found enticing.

"Do you taste as good as you smell?" I inquired, my breath mingling with hers.

"Only one way to find out." She replied and curled a hand around the back of my head to dip my head towards hers.

Kylian's POV It was Monday, unlike most people, I actually liked Mondays. Mondays were a fresh beginning. It was like New Year’s, fifty-four days of the year. I fired up the laptop and began to scroll through my emails, trying to distract myself from recalling the previous weekend escapades. I couldn't help but bit my lower lip as I recalled how soft Yvonne's lips had been on mine and how she'd given me a taste I'd been craving for so long. “Hey!” Kieran said walking into my office, that Monday without knocking. “What do you want, Kieran?” I grumbled. “You’re grumpy.” “I am not. You barged in without even knocking.” He sat down on my couch, crossed his legs, and stretched his arm over the back of the couch. "Does that even count?" he asked, a grin playing at the corners of his lips. "Yes, it counts. If my door is shut, you knock. Everyone knows that," I retorted sharply. He chuckled softly. "Feels like old times, doesn't it? You scolding me for barging in." "That's becau

Kylian's POV "The conference room is right, this way." One of her workers was telling me as he walked me towards her office. I felt ridiculous to be excited, to finalize the terms that would get me my inheritance, which was supposed to be mine, as the oldest son. I strolled down the hallway to Yvonne's office, looking forward to seeing her. I had her right where I wanted her and knew my presence would make her anxious. “Good morning, Mr. Litt. Everyone’s in the conference room,” the secretary said, pointing across the hall.“Thank you,” I said with my charming smile and headed for the door. When I walked in, although I had already been told everyone waswaiting, I was still a little surprised to see both lawyers and Yvonne already there. She stood to greet me with a friendly smile. I walked to her and gave her a friendly kiss on the cheek. She didn’t flinch at all, which surprised me a little. I noticed the slight blush she was trying to hide. She could pretend all she wanted, but I

I hadn’t been able to slip that into the contract, but I was not about to let her back out on her word.“Kylian,” she started.I shook my head. “Don’t even think about it.” She let out a long sigh. “Fine.”I smiled. “Trust me, it’s only for the legality of it all. I need my inheritance. You need your job. You understood the terms of the deal when you went into it. I’m not trying to pull one over on you.”She nodded. “I did. I think it’s ridiculous and completely scandalous, but what can one expect from a man like you.”I smirked, her veiled insult didn’t bother me a bit. “We don’t necessarily need to be together. If it is a hardship for you to be in the same room as I am, we can keep our distance. I only need your name on paper and for an occasional gathering to prove our engagement. And then there is that other thing.”Her jaw clenched, and she glared at me. “We still need to iron out the deta

Yvonne's POV I strolled through the corridors of my corporate offices, knowing that this was my final week in charge. Soon, everything would officially belong to Kylian, my soon-to-be husband. The realization was bittersweet, as I struggled with relinquishing control. Despite my inner resistance, I had to acknowledge that this transition was inevitable, and I reminded myself of that fact constantly. I greeted my employees with a smile and a wave, although they would soon become Kylian's employees. While I held the position of their direct boss, the ultimate authority would shift to the man I was engaged to, at least on paper. Earlier, I had received an email detailing the upcoming changes, emphasizing that while most aspects would remain unchanged, certain details such as the name on the bottom of the checks would no longer be mine but his. I found myself surprisingly calm despite the occasion. Kylian had arrived earlier, his usual debonair and strikingly handsome self, exuding conf

Yvonne's POVI glared at the man sitting across from me. How dare he question my ability or Kylian’s ability to be reasonable. No one handled me. I’d never heard anything so chauvinistic in my life. I opened my mouth, ready to tell him exactly what I thought about his questions and assumptions. Kylian reached out and put one of his big hands over mine, which was gripping the edge of the table. “I think my business sense speaks for myself. I don’t make decisions about business based on my personal opinions. I won’t explain my decisions. My fiancée will be treated with the utmost respect. Trust me, I can handle my homelife, no matter what happens at the office,” he said firmly. I felt like I was in the seventeenth century, where my status as a woman was just above that of a sheep. It was making my blood boil. I wanted to kick him in the shins something fierce. “What will the media say about you buying the company? Won’t it look odd that a woman’s company is struggling, on the verge of

Kylian's POV This morning, I woke up with a renewed determination to resolve matters with Yvonne. I felt the urge to meet her and had a solid excuse in mind.Yesterday's events left Yvonne displeased, and while I didn't intend to upset her, certain issues needed addressing. It was crucial for investor satisfaction, and I wanted to assert my authority as the decision-maker. Naturally, this would likely anger her, as she was used to being in control. However, the situation was a result of her actions, and I needed to take charge to untangle the mess. After the meeting, she’d avoided saying more than a few words to me and the words were stilted that did come out of her mouth. I had a feeling she was going to back out of our arrangement. She got a good dose of what the future would be like in the company and didn’t like it. I had seen it in her eyes. The idea of holding onto her position was not nearly as enticing as it had been. I could see her second-guessing her decision. I needed to d

Kylian's POVI couldn’t help but laugh by her very unenthusiastic approach to getting a diamond ring. Wasn’t it what every woman wanted? She was acting like I was dragging her in front of the firing squad. I had never met a woman so reluctant to have expensive jewelry bestowed upon her. She was definitely an odd duck. She put on a smile and pretended to actually like me as we walked into the store. We were immediately greeted by several associates eager to sell us something expensive to fatten their own pockets with a healthy commission.“We’d like some time to browse,” I said, slowing their attack.“Of course,” the lead saleswoman said, holding out an arm and stopping the other two.“Go ahead,” I told Yvonne.“What? You seriously want me to pick a ring?” she asked, wrinkling her nose.I shrugged. “I guess I could.”She waved her hand and made her way to the case farthest away from the head of the store where the most expensive jewelry was stored. She was looking at the cheap stuff.“Y

Yvonne's POVWearing an engagement ring had an allure, even if the engagement itself was purely business. As I gazed at the ring during my commute, I couldn't shake off the excitement of being Kylian Litt's fiancée, even if it was only a facade. The idea of it felt like stepping into a Cinderella fantasy, despite my financial stability and the reality of Kylian's less charming traits. While I had my own money, it paled in comparison to Kylian's wealth, and I wasn't accustomed to lavish spending. Yet, the ring held a special place for me. Deep down, I believed that beneath Kylian's tough exterior, there might be a softer, kinder side.Every once in a while, I caught a glimpse of that one side of him he tucked away. I got to see it on Saturday, briefly, but I saw it. Something had made him into the hard soul he was today. The moving truck, along with a fleet of movers, had just brought in the last box. We were sticking with my furniture for now with plans to redo the place with both of our tastes reflected. That would come later.I could hear my beautiful wife and her friend chatting in the room we were making into the nursery. For too long, the room had sat empty. It had been outfitted to be a guest room with a large bed and dresser, but no one had ever slept in the bed. I forgot the room was even there most of the time. The maid dusted in there and put fresh linens on the bed once a week, but I never bothered going into it.Now, it would be my child’s nursery.
