Kevin in front of her was wearing a light blue shirt with a black suit, the suit jacket was unbuttoned, revealing a jewel-encrusted belt buckle, and the shallow crotch suit pants were the most popular non-traditional design of suit pants, overall loose but without losing poise.
But the cold look made Cathy feel very unfamiliar, because Kevin had never shown this kind of expression in front of her, and he had never looked at her with such a cold look!
Cathy was a little disturbed, she was just about to open her mouth to ask him why he was there when Kevin spoke coldly, "Cathy, you're such a disappointment to me, how could you turn out like this? How could you be so cruel?"
"What do you mean Kevin, I don't understand what you mean." Cathy was a little uncertain as she stood up and asked suspiciously.
"I know all about it, you tried to use the money to get Gina to leave me, you even made a weakened Gina get an abortion! That's my baby, Cathy, how could you be so vicious? Why didn't you tell me? Was it my baby you were trying to abort with money? And,"
Kevin looked very angry, and put his arm around Gina and picked up the check on the table, "when did you get so much money? I never remember giving you this much money! Did you steal it?"
Cathy was dumbfounded by what she heard, she was shocked and angry and very sad and embarrassed, she admitted that she really didn't have that kind of money but she had planned to sell all those gifts Kevin had given her, she had never thought of stealing them, she hadn't thought that he would be able to convict her so lightly.
As for letting Gina have an abortion, she admitted that what she did was unfair to the unborn baby, but she didn't see how she had to be merciful to a scoundrel who had destroyed her family.
If it had been someone else who had come to say she was vicious, she probably could have easily ignored it, but it had been Kevin, a man she was in love with and married to.
"Kevin, was I the one who wanted this? You betrayed me, you betrayed our marriage, and now you have a child with the woman who destroyed our family, where do you put me? As your legal wife, don't I have any business sticking my nose into this?" Cathy's heart ached beyond words and her eyes filled with tears.
"Yes, I very much hate people who jump over me to meddle in any of my affairs, and I didn't permit you to be able to do so. As for the betrayal, I'm sorry, but that's all. You go home, the party is about to break up and Mother needs you." Kevin let go of the hand that was comforting Gina and took a step up towards Cathy, staring coldly into her eyes.
With that Kevin turned and carefully wrapped his arms around Gina and led her away, leaving a shocked beyond words Cathy behind. Cathy stood frozen in place, her mind wrapped around Kevin's cold words and expression, especially that look like he was looking at something nasty that made Cathy's heartache for blood.
She didn't understand at all why Kevin's attitude towards her could change so drastically, and she didn't want to believe at all that the man she had just seen was her husband, the one who had sworn before God to love her forever.
Cathy snapped back to her senses all of a sudden, she had to catch up and ask what was going on and why Kevin had become so disgusted with her all of a sudden.
Cathy ran out of the cafe and stopped at the door, looking around anxiously.
Suddenly Cathy's eyes lit up, across the street at the Haji Hotel, Kevin was walking up the steps of the hotel with his arm around Gina.
Cathy thought nothing of running straight over to the hotel and stopped Kevin directly in the lobby. Cathy breathed heavily, her big brown eyes looking straight at Kevin.
"What are you running over here for? Aren't you embarrassed enough for today? I told you to go home, can't you understand what I said?" Kevin and Gina were startled at first, and when they saw that it was Cathy, Kevin frowned straight away and questioned.
"Do you ...... do you not love me anymore? Or, have you, never loved me?" Cathy heard him this unflinching questioning, her heart began to be like a knife twisting again, and her eyes slowly bubbled up with tears, she took a deep breath as if to pump herself up and asked.
Since receiving Gina's text, Cathy had been reminiscing about their three-year marriage, and the more she remembered, the more her heartached, the more the thought of "did he never love me" haunted her, and now all she wanted was an answer.
"Are you serious? Are you sure you want to ask that question here?" Kevin snorted like he'd heard some kind of joke.
"Yes, I just want to know your answer." Cathy said firmly, while the hand hanging down her skirt had quietly clenched into a fist.
"Cathy stop it and get home," Kevin looked around incredulously and said, "it's getting crowded here, we'll discuss this when we get home!" He said and tried to pull Cathy's arm.
"No, I want answers now," Cathy shook off his hand, her eyes fading, "I'm not going to let you leave if you don't answer me."
"Well," Kevin was also enraged by her stubborn attitude and raised his voice regardless, "since you want to know, I'll tell you that yes, I've never loved you, it's always been Gina I've loved, the one who's already pregnant with my child, are you satisfied, you wicked woman? It's a good thing I came in time today, or I wouldn't have known that you were threatening poor Gina because of all this senseless jealousy!"
At that moment, Cathy felt as if the great knife hanging over her heart had dropped at once, cutting her to the bone.
At this point, she couldn't care less about the slurs in this man's words.
"If you never loved me, why did you marry me? Why did you swear before God to love me forever?" She still stubbornly asked.
"Because at that time I needed a wife very badly to take care of my mother and," Kevin moved closer to her, bent down, and whispered, "don't you think you look a little like Gina? If I hadn't met Gina again, I think I could still spend the rest of my life with you,"
After saying that, Kevin straightened up and continued in a raised voice, "You were so innocent back then, nothing like the vicious, jealous you are now."
Cathy couldn't say anything more, and her mind went so blank when she heard Kevin say that she and Gina looked alike that she couldn't even hear the words Kevin suddenly blurted out later at all.
Cathy slowly turned her head to look at the bemused Gina next to her. Cathy then realized that her eyes, mouth, and the contours of her face were similar to Gina's, and she recalled once again how Kevin had complimented her on her eyes and mouth.
At this point, Cathy's world comes crashing down again, and it turns out that all that happiness she remembers is based on the premise that she resembles Gina.
Cathy couldn't think anymore, it was as if she was getting to know the man she loved so much for the first time, she didn't understand why Kevin could be so cruel and she couldn't comprehend it, she felt like she was going crazy.
"I haven't seen you for a long time, Uncle Rynaud." Old Mr. Melville sat on the sofa with a cane, looking at the man in front of him with a gloomy face. Cathy sat sideways next to her grandfather and looked carefully at the man's face. The man named Frank Melville wears a dark blue suit with a beige vest, with a straight waist and back, and looks elegant and stylish from behind. His brown hair is mixed with white hair that can't be ignored, which is slightly messy. His appearance is somewhat similar to Carter's, but his eyes seemed turbid, and the occasional dodged eyes and drooping corners of his eyes revealed his malice. At this time, he was raising the corners of his mouth and naturally greeted Old Mr. Melvillea. He turned his head slightly to look at Cathy and looked surprised with his eyes wide open. "You are my poor niece.I konw you really suffer. Now you are found back, your parents must be at ease..." His words were sincere, and Cathy also found that his eye
"Good morning, Miss Cathy, how have you been? I've heard from Carter that you've recently taken a liking to Yvonne Benedict's fiddle tunes. It just so happens that she's been giving a solo recital lately and sent me two tickets to the premiere, which is tonight. I wonder if you'd be interested in going along to listen?"At eight in the morning, Cathy had just finished washing up and returning to her room from the bathroom when she happened to see a text message pop up on her mobile phone, which she picked up to find it was from Felix.Felix had messaged her almost every day since they had reunited on the day of the banquet, they hadn't talked about anything very important, just small talk about interesting things in life and work. Because Carter said to her after the party that she could be at ease with Felix and could see Felix as another brother, Cathy was also very relaxed with Felix, and she treated Felix as the same being as Carter, Kyle, and Eric. So when she saw the invitation
Felix coughed a little and raised the glass in his hand again to take a sip, Carter looked at him with more and more suspicious eyes, just as Felix wanted to change the subject, he just saw Cathy's figure, she looked around as if looking for something, Cathy turned her head just to meet Felix's eyes, Felix hooked up the corners of his mouth and raised his glass to her, Cathy had a surprised smile on her face and walked towards him. Cathy had a surprised smile on her face and walked quickly towards him. Carter saw Felix's movement and turned round to spot Cathy."Carter, Mr.Langley, finally found you. Let's go find Grandfather." Cathy smiled as she walked up to the two."Is grandfather looking for me? I'll be right over." Carter assumed that Grandfather was looking for him and with a nod he headed straight for the lounge."Did you speak to Old Mr.Melville?" Felix asked as he bent slightly closer to Cathy."No, I thought you said you wanted to say it in person. So I just told Grandfathe
"Cathy, I was just going to look for you. Mr.Langley? Why are you guys ......" Cathy and Felix both walked into the ballroom side by side, Olivia smiled at Cathy as soon as she saw her and walked towards her, but noticed Felix next to her sister and asked in surprise. "Good evening, it's a pleasure to meet you Mrs.Lanyon, and I'd like to congratulate you on getting your sister back." Felix raised a gentle smile and gave her a small nod. "Olivia, I used to spend some time with Mr.Langley at the orphanage, I'll tell you the details when I get home." Cathy took Olivia's arm and explained to her. "Is that so? I didn't know you guys had met so early on." Olivia looked surprised. "Yes, about this, I think I am somewhat responsible and I need to say sorry to everyone in the Melville clan." Felix sounded very sincere. "Mr Langley, we've already discussed this topic, and that's not on you." Cathy looked at Felix somewhat helplessly and disapprovingly. "Consider it for my poor self-este
"Mr. Lewis, I would suggest that it would be better for you to speak after you have understood what is going on, otherwise you will look foolish." Eric's voice was lazy, but his words were unforgiving."What?" It took Kevin a moment to realize that Olivia and Eric were behind Cathy, it also took him a moment to realize that the guests around them were looking at them with strange eyes and whispering. Kevin felt that something wasn't quite right, but really had no idea what was going on, when the old Mrs. Lewis tugged at his sleeve."Cathy is the daughter that the Melville clan lost and she just asked me to apologize.""What?" Kevin was shocked at this, he hadn't expected such a coincidence at all, he subconsciously wondered if something could be wrong, "That's impossible, isn't Cathy just an orphan? Could there be a mistake?" As soon as these words came out, Kevin knew it was over, the opportunity he had begged so hard f
"Cathy, it's about time now, let's go over there with Grandpa." Olivia looked at the clock on the wall and turned her head to say to Cathy who was sitting next to her taking small sips of red wine. At this moment, Cathy and Olivia were resting in the hotel's fixed suite, originally Olivia was going to go and greet the ladies attending the banquet, but because Cathy was too nervous, Olivia was afraid that she would get carried away alone, so she stayed behind and let Carter, Kyle and Eric deal with it. Old Mr.Melville, on the other hand, was resting in his suite first because of his health and would go over there when the banquet officially started. "Okay, I'm ready." Cathy took Olivia's advice and drank a little bit of red wine so that her spirit didn't have to be so tight. It didn't take long for the three to appear in the ballroom. The entire banquet hall was much larger and more lavishly decorated than the one where the banquet was held after attending the auction that day, and
