#71 Confessions Part 1

“So,” I began, my voice softer than I intended, “You promised me. No more secrets. We are going to talk. About everything.”

There was a palpable tension, a weight of unspoken words, and hidden secrets that were now beginning to mar our relationship. I wrapped my hands around the mug in front of me, the warmth seeping into my skin as I watched him. His face was unreadable, but his fingers tightened around his coffee cup in nervousness. I could feel it in the way his jaw clenched and the way his gaze kept shifting between me and the window.
