#60 It's Always Him

"I will see you at home," Sylvie left in a taxi to do some urgent work after she got an anonymous call. But something told me, Jake had anticipated this. He wasn't too surprised.

Or maybe he was trying to stay indifferent to Sylvie after bringing her here in front of hundreds of wolves as his legitimate girlfriend. This was another topic I would discuss with space, time, and length.

He immediately gripped my hand next to him as soon as we got inside the car, his hold firm yet gentle the entire time. But he won't say anything. And I was dying of embarrassment and confusion. Why would my wolf want me to fail in front of everyone?

When Jake took his usual longer route, my heart raced. After what had happened today, maybe we needed this. But I wasn't sure if this time, instead of making love with me, he would scold me or lecture me on my failure.

Then, just as I expected, he pulled the car to a stop where hardly anyone passed by. My heart skipped a beat, anticipation bubbling inside me.
