Broken.

There he was, watching as the girl he saw as his best friend walked to her car, humming and with a radiant smile on her face, brighter than he could remember. It was clear from a distance that she was happy, and he understood why. She had skipped classes consistently after the contest, just like he did, which now only fueled his anger. They must have had their secret moments without any problems. He stood by his Cadillac, contemplating whether to approach her or simply not take away that beautiful smile from her. He paced back and forth, debating what the hell to do until he finally let out a sigh and a whistle, deciding what he felt was right. Without hesitation, he called her, and she ran towards him, patting his shoulder.

"What's up, Hazza?" she asked, smiling.

"Why are you so happy?" he inquired.
