I stared at the woman for a very long time in shock as though she was a ghost. How? Just how was someone who looked exactly like my late mother standing in front of me?

Did someone conjure her from the dead? Was this some kind of magic? Did my mother have a doppelganger? These were questions that spiraled through my mind as I looked at her.

Her eyes flickered around as though she was being cautious of her environment and didn't want to be seen by anyone.

When they refocused on me, she rolled her shoulders and maintained a grim expression as she said, “I know you must be wondering who I am and why I look just like your mother.”

I kept my gaze on her, too stunned to give her an answer.

When she saw how dumbfounded I was, she sighed, “I am your mother's younger sister, Katherine.”

My brows furrowed in confusion. My mum had told me she had a younger sister, but she also mentioned that she had suddenly disappeared and was believed to be dead by everyone. Before my mum died, she was t
