Lilith's eyes flashed with anger at my words, her lips curling into a snarl. "You dare to mock me? You think you can outwit me with your pathetic attempts at humour?"

"I'm not mocking you, Lilith; I'm just stating the obvious." I retorted boldly, maintaining eye contact with her.

"I remember warning you clearly the last time, didn't I? But here you stand before me, still thinking you can control my fate. Your level of delusion is amazing." There was a hint of amusement in my voice as I challenged her.

Her nostrils flared with rage, but she quickly composed herself, a smirk playing at the corners of her lips. "Ruby, I don't need to control your fate because you're already doomed to repeat your mistakes. And this time, I would make sure that there would be no escaping the consequences."
