Rowan's POV

"You chose the wrong fight!!" he said, blood dripping from his mouth too. "You're to meet your end!!"

He pushed me back again, making sure that I laid on the bare earth, exhausted. Raising his paws up to the sky, he brought it down with a sudden might.

Then we both heard a voice cry out. "Enough Zane, enough!!"

It sounded familiar, yet distant.

Zane heard the voice and paused only seconds away from ending my life. "He crossed the line, and he deserves to die!!"

"Of course he deserves to die, and he'll surely get it," the voice replied, coming closer. "But if you kill him now then my powers go down with him!!"

I recognized the voice at that point, surely I did.

Selena took steps towards us. "The powers are more important than his worthless life."
