Aubrey's POV
"You actually agreed to let her go?" I asked curiously as Nic shrugged when I knew without a doubt that this was a big deal for him.
"Aww your getting soft Nic, how cute," I coo'ed poking his sides.
He slapped my hands away and narrowed his gaze as I laughed.
"I'm not getting soft. I was being a mature adult. Something you still need to do."
"Pshh I will grow up when I want to grow up. Not when my age tells me to," I said with a scoff.
He shook his head and chuckled. I felt his gaze run down my figure as a smirk fell on his features.
"Age is being amazingly good to you my little mate. So since the boys are at their grandparents why don't we do something of our own," he drawled slowly as he reached me.
He wrapped his arms around me as I rested my hands on his chest, smiling up at him.
"Jason and Olivia are just in their rooms. Just because the twins are gone doesn't mean our other children are gone too."
I raised a brow when Dominic's eyes greyed out before returning to their original shade.
"What's wrong?" I asked noticing how his muscles tensed up.
He looked down at me and forced a smile causing me to glare at him.
"Don't do that fake shit with me Nic. Tell me what's going on."
He sighed heavily and pulled me in for a hug causing me to frown over his shoulder.
"Nic are you..."
"Claire's back."
I froze.
She's back?
I never knew she would even return after she left years ago. And to be quite honest I didn't think she would survive without her mate. It would have taken a toll on the poor girl.
I pulled away as Dominic intertwined our fingers before leading us out.
As soon as we stepped outside I smelt her scent.
I looked towards my sons voice and heard him ordering her to leave.
In his eyes, she was a rogue. If she was anyone else she would have been killed. She must have told him she knew us.
"Claire," I said.
They all stopped yelling at each other only to look in me and Dominic's direction.
They bowed in respect except for Jason who only smiled at me. He was a mommas boy that one.
"Luna Aubrey," she replied. Once again nodding her head in acknowledgment.
She looked good if I'm being honest. Her long blonde locks fell down her shoulders and her figure definitely developed filling out her assets. She was still short but she held herself with more maturity than she did when she left.
Even though we didn't have good history I wanted a fresh start with her. She lost her mate and she had no family, so I can only imagine what the last few years have been for her.
Plus I made a promise to Claudia that no harm will come to her mate from us. Dead or not, I plan to keep my promise to her.
"How are you doing?"
She smiled as she looked off towards the hills before meeting my gaze again.
"To be honest with you I feel great. After two whole years of mourning Claudia, I knew I needed to snap out of it. She wouldn't have wanted me to be drowning myself in my own misery. So I cleaned myself up, got an apartment and have been living among the humans for many years. As good as it was I miss the Pack life. I miss hanging around my own kind. I want to come back Aubrey."
I smiled and before I could even voice my agreement, I was interrupted.
"You would have to go through protocol if you were to stay," Dominic said with out an ounce of emotion in his tone.
I knew he didn't like Claire. In a way he blamed her and her father for the people we lost to the rogues on that haunted day.
She reminded Nic of her father and he hated it.
Nic's hatred for the dead man knew no bounds.
I looked at Nic before meeting Claudia's gaze as she spoke.
"Being initiated into a pack doesn't require protocol. It's swearing my loyalty to you as my Alpha and having an initiation..."
"It's new Claudia. We have just been a little cautious with who we invite into the pack now, considering how things went down before." I said cutting her off when I saw the irritated look on Dominic's face.
She raised a brow before nodding her head in acceptance causing me to sign in relief. I did not have the energy to deal with wolves and their anger management problems.
"Okay sure if you say so. Where do I stay till protocol has been completed?"
"You will stay in the bunker till we deem fit. I don't think staying in the cells will be appropriate for someone wishing to join the pack, isn't that right father," Jason said as he came and stood beside me.
Nic's gaze hardened at Jason before he looked at me. I knew he wanted her in the cells during protocol. I shot him a pleading look to get him to agree which made him release an irritated sign.
"The safety bunker is at your disposal. We will talk tomorrow when we begin protocol. You are not free to roam the pack lands till it has been completed, understood."
"Understood Alpha," she said bowing her head in respect.
Satisfied with her answer Dominic grabbed my hand and told Jason to follow us. I sent a comforting smile Claudia's way before the doors closed behind me and I was dragged to Dominic's office.
As soon as the doors closed Dominic demanded answers from our son.
"Why the bunker Jason. That has supplies we need in emergencies. If she decides to go against us again, do you think there will be anywhere safe that the women and children can go that she doesn't know of."
"I'm sorry dad but your decisions would have been biased. You know the girl, therefore you judge according to her past with the pack. You never know, she might have had an epiphany and changed herself for the greater good."
I smiled proud of my sons words.
Yep, he is most definitely like me. Dominic is way too impulsive kind of like Olivia, I thought with a chuckle.
Where is that girl anyway?
"Whatever," Dominic grumbled under his breath causing me to laugh as I pulled him in for a hug.
He buried his nose in my neck as his arms tightened around me.
I looked over his shoulder and smiled at Jason before gesturing for him to go.
He nodded his head and chuckled at his fathers childish pout before leaving the room.
"Is he gone?"
"Dominic why can't you just agree with our son when he makes decisions. He will be Alpha soon and you disagreeing with every decision he makes is going to confuse the boy. He needs reassurance that he's doing the right thing."
Dominic pulled away and smiled down at me.
"I know he's right. I was just mad at seeing Claire again. Just having her here brings back memories I would rather not revisit."
Before I could say anything our not so quiet daughter burst into the room with a squeal of excitement.
"Oh my god mum is that Claire that I just saw with the guards heading to the bunkers?"
"What makes you think it's Claire? It could be anyone."
She gave me a deadpan look before rolling her eyes.
"The pack talks and plus I know every face and name in this pack by memory and hers is the only one I haven't seen before."
"Fair point," I said with a shrug.
I stared at my daughter as she stared at me with her arms crossed.
"Well..."
She drawled out before gesturing for me to continue talking.
"What?" I asked with a raised brow.
She groaned in annoyance before looking at Nic.
"She's ridiculous," she said face palming herself.
"I think she wants you to give her some information about Claire," Nic said with a chuckle.
I rolled my eyes when Olivia's gaze widened and a grin overtook her features.
"Yes please. Come on mom it's like walking in history. The tales about what happened with the rogues and the near falling of the pack. Even though I am quite curious as to why she wants to come back here when she can go back to her original pack. I'm sure Uncle Asher will let her be initiated back in. But frick I still can't believe she's here! Claire was there, it's like walking with the dinosaurs!" She exclaimed excitedly.
"What the fuck? We're not that old," I said offended running my fingers through my hair.
"I didn't mean it like that," Olivia said sheepishly.
I grumbled under my breath and turned my back on my daughter while crossing my arms. The only annoying thing about giving my daughter my back was that I was now facing Nic's amused gaze.
"What," I said annoyed.
He laughed as he looked at Olivia.
"See now you made your mother upset sweetheart. Tell her she's not as old as dinosaurs," he teased.
"Fuck off," I grumbled as I walked around Nics form to his desk giving them both my back.
"Mom don't be dramatic your still rocking that body of yours."
I rolled my eyes at my daughters teasing tone.
"Sexy can't even compare to what your..."
"Okay okay geez Olivia are you trying to make me puke? Go use those lines on your future mate."
I turned around to face her and laughed when she wiggled her brows at me before winking and leaving the room.
"She's such a dork," I said with a small smile.
"She hangs around Jake too much. His humour is rubbing off on her," Nic said shaking his head.
"I wouldn't want to change her for the world."
I can only hope that she stays so optimistic and happy.
My beautiful daughter.
Olivia Steel P.O.VToday was the day!I packed my gear and shoved them in my bag before lugging it out of my room and down the stairs."What the fuck."I smiled sheepishly when I accidentally shoved my dad aside in my haste."Language dad!" I called out before I threw the front door open and excitedly ran to Jason who was preparing the bags in the car."Woah Liv calm down before you poke someone's eyes out."I shoved my bags in the boot as my brother raised a brow at me."What?""You do realise we're only going for three days.""Yeah, what's your point?"He looked at my bags before meeting my gaze again."You packed as if we're going for two weeks. What did you even pack in those. Seriously you only need one bag Liv," Jason scolded."No I need those bags. And calm down it's only three bags. And they aren't even that big," I said with a shrug before closing the boot.Jus
Olivia Steels POV"Hurry up Liv, dinners ready and I'm fucking starving," Colton groaned as I blow dried my hair."Do you want my hair to be wet or not," I said getting annoyed with his whining."No one cares," he complained."Ugh fine you idiot, I'm coming. You should have just gone without me.""Jason said I can't come down till your ass is with me. Now get going I'm hungry."I rolled my eyes letting my damp hair fall down my back as I stood up and followed Colton out of the room."Geez you act like your've been starved for days, when I'm sure I saw you eating an hour ago.""One doughnut Liv. Now seriously what's that going to do to my stomach? Tickle it?""Your so dramatic," I said with a laugh as Colton opened the doors to the dinning hall.My laugh echoed in the quiet room causing me to cease my laughter immediately. The only sounds heard was the voices of my brother and Alpha Dimitri
"Tell me." "No." "Please?" "No." "Come on just tell me" "No." "fine." "No...wait what? Ow! Dammit Olivia," he groaned. I chuckled when Kade rubbed his side as he scooted further away with his eyes narrowed at me. "Okay fine, I'm sorry. But why cant you just tell me why he can't accept me?" "For the hundreth time Olivia, its not my place to tell." "I will find out eventually you know." "Then when that time comes I hope I'm not around." I frowned as he looked at me in sympathy. "Please Kade I'm begging you," I urged as I scooted closer to him and grabbed his arm in desperation. Something about what he said rubbed me in the wrong way. "I'm sorry Olivia, I can't." "What can't you do?" We both looked towards the voice and saw Jason in the doorway with his eyebrow raised. "Nothing that doesn't concern you," I said quickly. Jason ro
I kept running pushing my legs to go faster. "Olivia stop!" He called after me. His voice only urged me to go faster. I let out a laugh as I ran, my laughter echoing in the forest disturbing the peace. My happiness was short lived when I realised how close Damon was. He literally was on my heels. Hmm...that won't do. I looked ahead of me and spotted a thick tree. As soon as we got close to it I feigned a left turn before changing course immediately. I ran towards it and up the trunk before flipping backwards and changing direction. I heard him curse which caused me to smirk as I continued running. His speed would have prevented him from stopping to change course. As soon as I heard a growl and snapping of jaws I knew he shifted. Did anyone say rodeo? With a grin I knew he was back on my heels. I could literally feel his breath on my legs. I closed my eyes and tilted my head towards the sky basking in the
I squealed when Damon suddenly hoisted me onto his shoulders and started walking. "What the fuck are you...Ow! shit what was that for ?!" I said exasperated as I gripped his back for support. "Keep cussing and I will keep spanking you," he deadpanned. "Damon put me down, I'm perfectly fine with walking on my own. Your embarrassing me," I complained. "If you feel like its perfectly normal to be embarrassed in front of an audience of tree's, then sorry little mate but you need help." "Okay fine but when we get to the clearing put me down because this will look quite odd, don't you think?" "How so?" he said sounding amused. "Well first of all...I'm soaked in blood. If my brother see's me on your shoulder he will think I've been injured." "You have." "What? I'm not hurt in the slightest?" "Your pride is." I frowned and pulled myself up leaning my hands on his back as I tried to turn around to look at
I sighed as my legs hung off the armrest of the couch I was laying in. The room was encased in darkness except for the little rays of moonlight that shone through the gaps in the curtain. Questions wandered through my mind as I sat there alone with my thoughts. I scoffed at the thought of what happened moments ago. I ended up leaving Damon's place and running back to the Pack house. I was beyond irritated with his attitude. Especially when I tried to sneak up that "secret" staircase, I thought with a chuckle. I nearly got there too. "One more day," I whispered to the darkness. One more day till Damon decides our destiny. I hated how he had the power in this decision. It's not like I could put any input in considering I've already accepted him. He just needs to accept me. I got up off the chair and walked towards the double doors that lead out to the balcony. As I opened the doors I shivered as the wind car
I kept running even when it felt like my heart was going to rip out my chest. Damon already had a lover and she was enough of a reason for him to deny me. My breath was coming out in pants as tears freely streamed down my face as I ran. "Olivia Stop!" I growled in annoyance at the sound of his voice, just wanting to be left alone. I pushed myself harder not in the mood to deal with my so called mate. "Olivia wait!""Just stop and listen to me..."I jumped over a fallen gigantic tree without slowing down and landed with an omph. I heard him curse causing me to scoff un-amused. No matter how may times I changed course he remained on my heels. I'm done trying to win you over okay!?"I felt my eyes burn as I panted. Emotion after
Damon's P.O.V Finding my mate was not a topic I spent a lot of time on. To be honest I didn't think I would come in crossroads with her in this life time. Olivia... Just thinking about her brings a fuck load of emotions that I cant begin to comprehend. Seeing her in complete anguish fucking killed me, but I just felt helpless. I felt like I didn't have a right to console her when I was the one causing her pain. Lost in my thoughts I paid no mind to my brother entering my room. "Damon, have you seen Olivia? Jason is starting to lose his cool and no ones seen her. He found her room empty this morning and there is no sign that she occupied the room last night." I shot up from my position on my couch and frowned. "Let's go. I will help find her." I grabbed my jacket that lay on the armrest and went straight for the door. Damons P.O.V. I ran pushing my wolf to his limits as I growled. I was furious with Olivia but I was also mad at myself knowing it was my fault, but was too stubborn to admit it. She allowed someone to take her virginity... That was the only thought currently racing through my mind. "Stop running." I snarled at the sound of my brothers voice in my mind. "Fuck off Dimitri," I snarled. I grunted when I was tackled to the ground as he loomed over me with a sneer. "Shift now," he commanded. "Why cant you fucking leave me alone. I will deal with my own shit," I snapped. "Because your being unreasonable." I stood up pushing him off me and shifting back. "How," I said annoyed as I crossed my arms awaiting his response. He remained in wolf form and sat down staring at me. "You were sleeping with Desiree...so tell me dear brother, how does that work? Being angry at your mate
It has been 3 weeks since I last saw my mate and trust me when I say it hasn't gotten better. I thought if I hung out more with Xavier I would slowly start to get over Damon but boy was I wrong. He was constantly in my mind and now to add to it, I had a whole lot of guilt consume me considering I slept with someone who wasn't my mate. "He also slept with someone else...just saying," my wolf Ava said. I rolled my eyes and stopped running placing my hands on my knees as I took deep breaths. I have been running for atleast an hour around our whole territory. I needed this release from all the constant stress on my mind. "Olivia where are you?" Jason questioned through the link. "East of the boarders." "Running?" "Yep, been slacking in training." "Right. We have guests, come back to the pack house." Before I could ask who he cut the link. I ran a hand through my sweaty hair before looking down at wha
We ended up pulling into the fancy building which where a lot of people live which Im assuming is there pack house. But according to Xavier its called a hotel. We went all the way up to the top floor and it was breathtaking. The views were to die for and the interior design looked like someone took great care in piecing everything together so it went perfectly. "Damn this place is beautiful! Is your family well off?" Xavier chuckled as he walked to the kitchen and poured 2 glasses of wine. "My parents travel for work so they set me up in this place making up for their absence. They feel that if they provide me with the finer things in life, I will be appreciative and not mind that they're barely parents to me. I've gotten used to their abandonment so I don't really care anymore." he said while looking at his glass before meeting my gaze. "Anyway enough about me. Take a seat and make yourself comfortable." I walked to the couch after ad
As soon as we got there we watched from the car as people littered the front lawn and deck. Z squealed in excitement before reaching for something at the back and coming back with a big bottle of Vodka and a six pack of red bull. “Let’s get litty!” she said in excitement before exiting the car. I laughed and followed after her as she ran inside. “Z calm your farm and relax,” I called out in amusement as we approached the house and squeezed pass the flood of sweaty bodies. Zara scrunched her nose in disgust, “I swear humans don’t wash themselves properly. Their odour is out of this world.” I chuckled and followed her to the kitchen before she started raiding the cupboard as if she owned the place. Not long after she managed to locate some plastic cups and began making our drinks. I bobbed my head to the music starting to feel more in the mood to party than I did when we first arrived. I scanned the area noticing so
"So whats wrong?"I looked up at my mother while twirling my spoon around in boredom."What makes you think somethings wrong?"She raised an eyebrow as she placed a hand on her hip."For the last week you have been moping around since coming back from the pack lands you visited with your brother. Don't think I haven't noticed."I sighed and chuckled as I looked at my half empty bowl."Have you ever made a difficult decision that defies everything you have ever known since young? Like...given up on something that was destined to be yours?"I waited silently for her reply, till her tanned hand came in my peripheral and covered my paled one.I looked up when she didn't say anything, she wore a sad expression as she smiled at me."I won't ask you what happened when you were there, but I will say this. If you believe the decision you made was right in your heart. Then it was the right one. Don't stray from your beliefs
