I hope you enjoyed this chapter. As always, your comments are always appreciated. I always read them.
I looked into the light and saw Selene in a Midnight Blue gown. I smiled, “I love that gown.” She laughed, “Thank you, child. I’m glad you are more comfortable with me than most. It’s nice to be able to have a conversation with someone.” I laughed, “We are far from strangers. I’m glad I’m finally comfortable with you too. So, are we correct on your path for our boys?” Selene nodded, “You are. You’re getting very good at trusting your instincts. I want you to continue to listen to them. Red Moon Pack will be a dominant pack that will expand to the south and Cold Springs pack will continue to expand and it will also become a hub for your grandchildren and generations after that.” I asked, “Hub for what?” She smiled, “You’ll be alive to see it. It will be absolutely wonderful. Just be prepared to cook a lot!” I smiled widely, “Will we have a huge family?” She nodded, “You will be surrounded by family members of all kinds.” That comment made me furrow my brow, “What do you mean?” She chuc
A year after the twins were born, I was pregnant again and due any day. Kenny and Kyle had been growing and developing so fast. Kenny started walking at nine months and Kyle walked only two weeks after. Gabriel and Douglas were right there with them on each new development. I knew Selene was behind it, but I couldn’t be mad about it. They were all very well behaved and starting to talk. They hadn’t started forming complete sentences yet, but they were able to get their points across to us. We had all gone to the mall at Red Moon Pack when the boys were three months old. Honi was so proud of the store her brother opened for the reservation. There was a lot of merchandise that was made by the people on the reservation. There were beautiful beadwork items, paintings, pottery, and clothes. It was beautiful inside that store. I smiled, “Honi, your brother did a great job on this.” Honi smiled, “My nephew, Isaac, is running the store. My niece relieves him for days off. My brother is the on
We spent the night at Red Moon Pack that night and I went to my office first thing the next morning with Andrew. I asked, “How are we doing on cash?” He laughed, “I had to buy another safe. The combination is written with the rest of them.” I nodded in understanding and responded, “I finished all the vetting at the bank. I had to fire the manager and two tellers. Once we replace them with people we can trust, I want you to start a new account and use it. Close out the old one, just in case someone has an automatic payment going through that.” He nodded, “Should I work on hiring people?” I nodded, “Yes, please. I also need four million from one of the safes. We are going to invest some in Cold Springs Pack.” Andrew smiled, “Awesome. I think that’s a great idea.” I sighed, “Matt noticed how much happier the pack members are. He wants to try for that.” He nodded, “Is he going to ask the pack what they want?” I nodded, “He is. I think it would go much better for him if it’s their idea.” H
It had been a week since we got back from Red Moon Pack and we immediately went to work on getting the baby’s nursery ready. We had finished it the day before I went into labor. This time, Aunt Piper had already planned on coming up that day, so she and Uncle Ace were already here when my labor started. I had been crocheting on the couch with Aunt Piper while I was waiting for the pains to get harder and more frequent. I had already started dinner rolls and there was a lamb roast with vegetables in the oven. Crap. I wondered if I could make it until dinner was ready. I was sure I wouldn’t be able to eat, but at least my family would be fed. I leaned over to lay my head on my aunt’s shoulder, “Aunt Piper, can I ask a favor of you?” She answered, “Of course, sweetie. What is that?” I asked, “Would you mind keeping an eye on dinner for me? I’ve been feeling contractions, but they aren’t strong and they are very sporadic. I’m not going to the hospital until the pains are stronger or my wa
After convincing Matthew that we would eventually name a boy after him, I asked, “Where are your boys?” Jessie smiled, “They’re with your Aunt Piper. She invited them to eat with your boys. I smiled, “She and Uncle Ace love being surrogate grandparents to our kids.” Matthew added, “And they are very good at it. They spoil all of the boys equally.” I laughed, “Yes, they do and they love doing it.” Jessie chuckled, “Gabriel calls them maw maw and paw paw.” I gushed, “That’s so sweet. I’m sure they love it. Ours just call them maw and paw.” We were talking when we started hearing one of the boys’ voice, “See bee bee seester?” I laughed, “I wonder which of our boys that is?” Our door opened a little bit and my Uncle Ace stuck his head in, “Hey sweetheart. Kenny is really wanting to see his bee bee seester.” I laughed out loud, “Of course. Come on in.” The door opened and four tiny tornadoes followed by a laughing couple entered the room. Kenny yelled, “Mommy!” I laughed as Joshua shushed
One week later, Alpha Matthew called a mandatory pack meeting for all pack members. Joshua and I had decided to eat dinner in the dining room with our children this evening, so that we could make it to the meeting. We were bombarded with pack members constantly walking up to us and gushing over all of our kids. Joshua waited until no one else was around us and leaned into me, “This is what happens when we don’t eat with the pack regularly.” I sighed, “Okay. I get it. Should we eat down here a couple nights a week?” He replied, “That might not be a bad idea. It may get to be a bit much for you to cook after you work in your office all day. Especially with these three, if you aren’t going to use the daycare.” I sighed, “I want all of our kids to learn by example. They will learn what a co-beta does and what a beta does by watching us. I think that’s really important. I would also like our girls to spend time watching Jessie too. Some of our girls may end up being luna.” Josh laughed, “
Joshua’s back stiffened instantly so I started rubbing comforting circles on his back to help him chill out before he answered. Joshua linked, “Thank you, love. I needed that.” Then he turned to the man and replied, “A gifted wolf of any kind makes a pack much stronger. They are highly sought after by alphas with nefarious intent. An oracle has the ability to see into the future from a very early age. Our daughter will be training at Red Moon Pack with a couple of my mate’s cousins to learn how to deal with the things she sees and what to do with them.” The man lowered his gaze, “I’m so sorry, Beta Joshua. I didn’t mean to sound bitter, but Alpha said he would take questions after the meeting, but with all the other excitement, he probably just forgot. Your secret is safe with me. Co-Beta, thank you for all you are going to do for our pack. I think they are all really good ideas.” I smiled, “You’re very welcome. I want to see our pack happy and flourishing.” Joshua replied, “You’re fin
Two months later, Cold Springs Pack was really starting to transform. The school buildings, the rec center and the Jo-Ann Fabrics store were all being built at the same time. The roads leading to each had been created and parking lots for each had been cleared. I had the franchise agreement signed within a week, because I was able to pay all franchise fees for a term of ten years up-front. When they had that much money offered to them, they couldn’t refuse. Jessica started sleeping all night at one month old and Joshua and I couldn’t have been happier about it. I sometimes wondered if she had already started having visions, because she was waking up so much more than our boys did. There was no way to tell if she was. Joshua and I decided that we needed to go down to Red Moon Pack for a couple of days, just to introduce her and have our pack meeting about her. I know that since we already had two oracles in the pack, it won’t be a big issue for Red Moon to keep her abilities to themsel
