~Marcie~

I stepped into Kingston Enterprise, my heart beating rapidly, racing with excitement. I know this wasn't my first time, but this is my first day of work.

I know if my dad hears about me working here, he's going to freak out. Freeze my account and force me to come back home, but then I'm confident that that man won't know a shit about me working here, and I'm also doing him a favor.

My supervisor was a lady in a corporate red gown and her hair packed in a neat bun. Her lips a shade of red and her body, adorned with a trinket, earrings, and a necklace, walked majestically in my direction.

She greeted me warmly, “Welcome to Kingston Enterprise, Emily.”

Jade, I figured that her name on the tag, led me to where my table was in the office. My eyes blazed proudly when I saw a brand-new computer on my desk and a stunning view of the city.

My hands felt itchy, ready to start working on this beautiful computer, which looked yummy to the eyes.

“This will be your table for the next few months; you'll be handling level one support calls, troubleshooting, and resolving basic issues. If you have any issues, my table isn't far from yours,” she said, and I nod my head eagerly, taking in every word.

“Alright,” I responded, and she smiled. Jade introduced me to my other colleagues; they all acknowledged me nicely, which was cool for a good start.

Just as I was about to land my butt on the chair and start working on my computer, Jade called me.

“I want you to deliver this to the CEO’s office,” she requested, handing me a document.

My eyes widened, “The CEO?” I asked to be sure.

“Yes, he needs this report for an urgent meeting,” she responded.

I never expected to meet the CEO this soon. Yes, I was curious what kind of guy could get my dad so worked up. I wonder who Darren Morgan was. I've only seen him on screen, but there was little about him on the internet; he made me curious though.

“Okay.”

Jade pointed in the hallway. “His office is on the top floor; you can take the elevator,” she directed. I took a deep breath, clutched the documents closer to my chest, and headed to the elevator.

The CEO’s office wasn't hard to find; I walked quickly and knocked on the closed door twice and then opened it. Before I could even access my environment, I was pinned to the wall.

A huge bulky man with beautiful slick platinum blonde hair pinned me to the wall. His eyes were ethereal; they were a darker shade of brown, but yet it was alluring to me. My heart skipped a beat or two while I was afraid of closing my eyes, thinking I would miss a lot of things if I did.

I could hardly breathe as I took in every single detail of his features; his nose was sharp and pointed like an aristocratic British prince; his lips were designed as masterpieces ready to be kissed; and his jaws were sharp and well-structured. I had the urge to check out his other physique, but there was something about his eyes that sparked something within me.

He gazed at me like I'm the only thing in this world; I gulped down nothing. This man is drop-dead gorgeous—no, that's an understatement.

He is like a league on his own; I could call him the god of beauty.

A species that just came down to show us humans what beauty is. Never in my entire life have I ever seen such a creative piece.

God really calmed down to create him.

He leaned close to me and sniffed my neck; the documents I held fell when he said, “Mate!”

My eyes widened, my lips slightly parted, but no sound came out. Heck, words were far away from my mouth; it was as if I was mute.

His voice.

No goddammit, this guy here is—

He stepped back, giving space between us. His once filled with excitement gaze was replaced with anger and annoyance, and that jolted me back to the present.

“What do you want?” he queried in an authoritative tone, and I sent him a questioning look.

Who was he to talk me down like that?

I came here for the CEO, and this good-looking Godforsaken man here just came out of nowhere to talk rudely at me, and that got me annoyed.

Every single light that sparkled within me was replaced with anger.

I pointed at the documents on the floor, “Pick these up and give them to Mr. Darren. This document is urgent; just arrange it and place it on the table,” I snapped at him, sending him a dirty glare.

Forget about his sultry structure and those broad shoulders calling me in to touch—or the abs hidden underneath the white shirt he wore; he is just one thing—a sole loser who thinks he can bewitch people with his look and intimidating aura.

I hate men that are proud and that makes me feel sick.

“Make sure to learn some manners, Mister; you really need it,” I said and stormed out of the office. Immediately, I got out of the office, raced to the elevator, and clicked on button number three.

I held my chest, which was beating so fast that I felt it would burst out soon. The elevator bell rang—good timing. I rushed to the ladies' room and entered the toilet.

I breathed in and out multiple times before I could get my rhythm back. Once I was done, I came out of the toilet and then went to the basin to wash my hands and sanitize it. I looked at my reflection in the mirror, and damn, it feels as if I just came out of a haunted house.

I arranged my hair and clothes and left the ladies' room. A smile curved on my lips as I maintained my posture, using every single thing to forget about the drop-dead gorgeous man I met in Mr. Darren's office.

Marcie's POV I was about to return to my desk and resume work as Mrs. Jade had sent me on an errand earlier. As I touched my neck region, I noticed that I had bruises, and it hurt me a little bit.I rushed back to the bathroom and took a proper look at the mirror. I was injured a little bit. How could someone act as crazy as the man who pinned me to the wall? I can guess that it was his first time seeing me. Aside from his looks and charming structure, he owes me an apology for harassing me and speaking rudely to me.No matter what happens, I must remain coordinated, as it is my first day at work. I need to get my scarf to cover up the bruise on my neck. I would make him pay for his actions and behavior, but first of all have to secure my job.I started going back to my desk so that I could resume duties as other staff were already settled and working."Hi, Marcie," the voice of Mrs. Jade called from behind.I stopped for a while and then turned back to respond to her."Hope y

I guess when she finds out, she will regret her earlier actions. And from the look of things, she desperately needed the job to survive.I made her know that I was the one she was seeking, but reluctantly, she refused to believe me. Carsen's POV This particular staff acts a bit differently. Her character is weird. Since she found out that I was a person she should not offend, she kept acting normal.I do not know the reason why she forgets that I am her CEO, and I have every single right to decide if she stays or not. There is something very interesting about her nonchalant attitude, and I would be the one to handle her issues. This workplace is going to be a living hell for her. First of all, she is going to pay for what Selene did to me.How could she give me a mere human as a mate? Knowing fully well that those creatures are weak and pathetic. Marcie's POV It was already getting late, and I was still outside waiting for the clothes vendor to arrive, even though he had told me he was on his way.I would not blame him for the delays; I would rather blame the person who sent me here to punish me for what he knows he is at fault for.I kept calling the vendor, and he gave me excuses and asked me to be patient. One thing I hated doing was going home late or being seen hanging around at night; besides, the country is not even too safe at night. After waiting for almost two hours, he finally arrived. As he saw the deadly look on my face, he started smiling from afar. All I did at the moment was ask myself who the hell he was smiling with, because I probably knew it was not me.He came up with a lot of excuses and apologies, but that was not my problem. All I needed was the clothes of my wicked boss.Immediately, he handed them over to me; I headed back to the office without saying goodbye to the vendor.I was just thinking of a b

  • The Beta and I   Chapter 10

Carsen's POV After she had brought the clothes that I asked her to bring, I noticed that it had taken her so long, and it was already late. As she acted angry, the only thing that came to my mind was how she would go home at that late hour.It was not new to anyone that the country was not safe at night. It was a general thing around the world because at night people who had the motive to commit crimes carried out their mission successfully without any trace. I asked her to come in so that I could figure out a way to send her home safely. As usual, she acted stubborn and refused to come in. The last thing I would do is force someone into my house because they could turn my good deeds into something else. I ignored her asking her to wait for me while I went in to drop off the clothes she had brought from my vendor and also grab my car key. I knew that she would not work out like that because she desperately needed a job for her survival. As I came out with my keys, s

I was so happy about the new energy, and I hoped it never faded away. I could not let my son go to the human city as he had always wanted to do.I got a call from one of the pack members, telling me that one of us was missing. It did not seem that serious to me.Maybe he was overthinking it, or maybe he was just scared."Are you sure about what you are saying?" I asked him to know exactly what was

I would have loved to bring her to the city, but it was risky, and I did not want her to bear our child outside the pack.I believed that as the alpha of the pack, my kids needed to be part and parcel of the pack. Even their birth should take place in the pack as well.It was giving me a lot of sleepless nights, and I did not know how to go about it. As I was brushing my teeth, I was also singing for the next attack on the werewolves. I can no longer wait to capture them like the animals they are and cage them like dogs. I had to sit up to regain my strength and know exactly what was wrong with me.I saw a piece of paper on the dresser that was close to the bed; I decided to pick it up.There was a write-up on it, and it was from Mr. Carsen. Carsen's POVAs I walked into the grocery store, I was the center of attention there. I was being admired by the ladies there and being complimented by the guys in the store.I wondered why they were so excited seeing me there; maybe it was because that would be my first time going into that particular grocery store.Humans were so funny and unwise that they did not realize that they were in public with a lot of people there.I walked boldly and majestically to where the strollers were and took the one that I would be making use of while shopping.I started going round the store to see what I could pick to make a good, delicious meal for Emily."Look over there; that is the guy everyone was staring at when he came in," a girl picking her groceries said to her friend. They were really funny and unbelievable; I had to pretend as though I had not heard a single word from them and continued with my shopping. How I wished they knew that I had a woman on my bed; they would have to take thei

The water she was in had already attached her clothes to her body, and I could see the size and shape of her breast clearly.I was so tempted to feel them with my hands, but I held myself back.
