Mr. William was never a man to smile, else he would have worn a smile on his face.

“You've made the right decision Ashley and you're not going to regret this” he replied to the dowdy-looking Ashley and proceeded to get something from the table...

“Your groom has signed the contract,” he said and stretched out the envelope for her to do the same.

she took the envelope from his hands, contracted it, and dropped it back on the table before ascending the stairs.

A few hours later, a couple of cars drove into the mansion waiting to take the bride home.

Ashley ascended the stairs absent-mindedly, although she claims to have accepted this fate, she can't help but feel bad about her boyfriend's actions.

She heaved a couple of greetings to her dad before stepping into the car.

All the guards and maid bowed to her feet while she stepped into the car. They drove out of the house, after which they closed the door.

Ashley placed her head on the mirror as tears threaten to fall from her eyes, she watch the city as it moved in a blur. So this is reality? she inquired within herself.

The ride lasted for an hour as they were moving from this city to the next city.

Driving into a very big mansion the car was parked neatly in the parking lot, all the maids stepped out of the cars while the guards opened the door for Ashley to walk out.

Stepping out of the car, She was met with a house that was second to hers, but her current state of depression didn't give her the ability to admire the house as much as she would have. Even though she left a similar house for this one she still would have complimented it if she had the opportunity to.

A maid volunteers to show her to the room, while the rest were unboxing the cartoon,but Ashley insisted she would sit here for now.

“I hope you know your job here” Mrs. Wilfred muttered repulsively as she walked the stairs and Ashley stood up from the chair wearing a very confused look. Was she here for a job? she inquired within her.

“Good afternoon ma” she greeted the woman, whom she felt was her mother Inlaw.

“Save your greetings, young lady, I'm sure you know your place here?” she repeated and kept scrutinizing Ashley's dangerous.

Ashley stared at the woman looking lost. Of course, she is here because she got married.

“Yes. To serve the duty of a wife” she replied and gulped down nothing those words sounded strange to her but Mrs. Wilfred scoffed sarcastically.

“What wife duties?” she questioned mockingly, and Ashley stared at her looking confused.

“You're married to my son because your father and I are going to become business partners soon” She replied with Sarcasm in her voice and Ashley smiled dryly, as those words resounded in her head. Wait!!! did she hear that right? Was this a joke, she stared at the woman as she arched her brows in dismay, trying too hard to acknowledge those words.

“That's not true”she finally muttered the moment she got her voice back and Mrs. Wilfred laughed Mischievously then suddenly an evil smack got to the right corner of her cheeks.

“What were you expecting?” she questioned with a scoff

“That you were going to come sit here and make babies? no darling you are here to work,”

“But I thought this marriage was meant for......” she questioned trying so well not to lose her mind.

“Love.....” she cut her shot and gave a devilish smile.

“if we wanted to love my son would have gotten a woman of his taste and married her, not someone of your kind” she replied again with an evil aura resounding in her voice.

It was at this point that it dawned on her that she was being used by her father as a tool to settle his goals. Tears burnt the back of her eyes as she held her hand tightly she was trying so hard not to lose it.

She felt her whole world crashing to her feet as those words began to make sense to her

“If we wanted a marriage of love why make it a contract marriage, are you this dumb” she insulted with a devilish grin on her cheek.

Tears rolled down Ashley's cheek, the tears she was trying too hard not to let out, why on earth was her fate like this, she wishes God had just given her a hint of what her life would be, maybe she would have prepared for this day.

Her heart stiffened in pain as she reminisced on everything the woman was saying, it hurts that she could lay down her life for her father but all he ever cared for was to use her just to archive all his goals.

“Even if you cry from now till thy kingdom comes it's not going to change anything, the earlier you accept your fate and live with it the easier it will be for you,” with that she turned to take the stairs.

Mr. William has a modeling company while Mrs. Wilfred had a cosmetic company, they both agreed to partner for the growth of the two companies, but before signing the contract, Mr. Williams insisted that one of her sons should marry Ashley his only daughter to strengthen the family bonds. Although Mrs. Wilfred was quick to accept because she's the CEO of the company

After the whole saga between Ashley and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Wilfred instructed a maid to show Ashley to her room.

Stepping into the room, Ashley ambled into the bed and plucked herself hard on the bed as tears rolled down her cheeks. she wished her mum was alive, probably her life wouldn't have been this messed up.

Her hands trembled as the words of Mrs. Wilfred played simultaneously in her head.

She blamed her boyfriend for everything that happened today. If only he had picked up her call, they probably would have left the country now. Her hands gripped the bedspread as tears streamed down her cheeks, how come she was so dumb not to realize it was a contract marriage, how did she let her emotions get the best part of her?

After so many minutes of Staying alone and crying In the room, she began to imagine her life as a wife. She didn't grow up to meet her mother, so she didn't get to see her mother acting like a wife.

It's been 2 hours since she got here and she is yet to see her husband. Is he always going to leave her in the house and find a place to be always?

She stepped out of her clothes and walked into the bathroom, after a long refreshing shower she stepped out of the bathroom, dried her hair, and wore one of her pajamas.

She held onto her phone and began to watch all the videos she did with her boyfriend and tears welled up in her eyes, how did she ended up in this mess, At the beginning of this relationship, she never for once imagine that she wasn't going to end up with this man.

She laid beneath the duvet with her phone still in her hand and her eyes glued to her phone while tears kept scrolling down her cheeks

The door opened and Ashley tilted her head back but was met with the greatest shock of her life.

She has seen this face before, he was the one she met at the club. What is he doing here?

Kai walked into the room and met, a lady on the bed but his legs halted the moment he saw the face. It was the girl he met at the club the other day. wait! what is she doing here?He quickly locked the door, trying so hard not to call his mothers attention

“Why are you here?”he inquired and Ashley stared confusingly at him, she should be asking him that question.

“Did you follow me here?, if you really enjoyed what we had the other day you should have called me, my card was attached to the money I gave you, you didn't have to follow me here”he blarb and Ashley, arched her brows in bewilderment

“I didn't...” she tries to explain to herself but Kai ignored her and walked angrily out of the room and descended the stairs roughly while he yelled his mum's name and Ashley followed him.

“Mum! Mum!”he yelled while descending the stairs and his mum watched him descend the stairs angrily

“Calm down son you might break the stairs”she sipped from her juice, giving them a very sarcastic look

“Why did you let that whore I to my house?”he inquired with anger resounding in his voice and his mum stared confusingly at him she doubted if he was referring to Ashley but since his hand was pointing up he was definitely referring to her.

“She is not a whore Kai, she is your wife” she replied casually and Kai scoffed.

Turning to take a proper look at Ashley he scoffed again he can't possibly be hearing her right .

“No mum, I can't get married to a prostitute, I can't!” he half yelled with anger resounding in his voice, and she stared at him in amusement, but she didn't want to know about the gist and how he got to know she is a prostitute.

“More reasons you should be happy son, you're not planning on making love to her, we just need her for the deal and nothing else, ”she replied with a shrug and Ashley's eyes teared up. She could feel the blood in her body drying up. In all her life, she has never been this humiliated, and she wishes she never saw this day.
