Brandon

The next morning I sit here having breakfast with Misty and Brice, thinking about Mykel and his little sister. I frown to myself thinking about their living conditions. They are living amongst a bunch of filthy rogues.

That cabin that they are living in didn't have much. My frown deepens a bit, remembering seeing those two sleeping bags on the floor. Their living conditions aren't good, especially not for a little girl. She reminds me so much of my little sister Brianna.

Mykel seems like a good kid whos only trying to take care of his little sister. Instead of stealing and taking the things he wants as most rogues do, he is working for what he needs.

"Is everything okay, you haven't said much of anything this morning," Misty says looking over at me with a raised brow.

"Everythings fine." I give her a reassuring smile. I've just been lost in my own thoughts thinking Mykel and his little sister, wanting to help them. "I'll need to stop by the factory for a little to take care of something," I say receiving a nod from her. Today is Saturday so Brice has no daycare. I was planning to spend today with my family, but I need to head to the factory to take care of this to get Mykel and his little sister off my mind.

After having breakfast, I get dressed and head downtown to the factory. I tell the manager Kel to get Mykel for me before heading into my office.

I take a seat at the desk and start to write out a check for Mykel.

After all the wrong I've done, apart of me finally feel as if I'm doing right by someone. It's just hard for me to be okay with what I saw when I went to Mykel's home. Over the past two weeks that he has been working here, I've held many conversations with him and I kinda feel as if I've gotten to know him on somewhat of a friend level. And I just don't feel right not helping when it's clear that he could use some help.

A few minutes later Mykel walks into the office.

"You wanted to speak with me bossman?" He asks.

I hold out the check and watch as he walks over, taking it from me. He frowns down at the check, before frowning back over at me.

"What's this for?" He asks.

"I want to help you and your sister," I tell him watching as the frown on his face deepens.

"I don't need your pity money." His jaws clench down holding the check back out towards me.

"It's not pity money, I just w-"

"That's exactly what this is!" He growls out glaring over at me. "I don't need your pity and I don't need you judging who I am!" He growls out again, dropping the check on the desk.

"I'm not judging you." I frown expecting this to go totally different.

"I saw the way you looked at me and our home. What? You think I'm some filthy rogue don't you?!" My frown deepens, not answering him. I don't want to think of him as some filthy rogue, but the pack wolf side of me do because of the rogues he lives amongst, but I can see that Mykel isn't some savage rogue.

"By having those marks I thought that maybe you were different, but even with those marks, you're just like every other pack wolf. Tell me, how many rogues have you killed? How many groups of rogues have you attacked for no reason just because you pack wolves always assume the worst when it comes to rogues like me!? Pack wolves killed my parents just because our group of rogues settled too close to their land so they assumed we were planning to attack them! You pack wolves are no better than the savage rogues you hate!" He glares into my eyes, holding my gaze challenging me. I can feel the power of this young beta male pouring from him.

I feel My wolf push forward accepting his challenge. "You need to relax Mykel." My words come out calm, not wanting this to go any further.

"Don't fucking tell me what to do! You're not my alpha!" A deep growl vibrant his chest as his eyes turn black and elongated teeth and claws come out.

This judging pack wolf side of me has offended him deeply which wasn't my attention. I can see that I've opened up deep emotional wounds for him. Wounds from his parents being killed and he clearly blames all pack wolves for it. I may not be a pack wolf on the outside now, but on the inside, I still have the pack life rooted deep within me.

A growl vibrant my chest as I stand up from the desk. I understand that I may have offended him, but he needs to calm down. I can't have him losing his shit here in a building full of humans.

"You think I'm afraid of you?!" He growls out as he starts to pace back and forth, glaring over at me with black eyes. Growls continue to rip from his chest as his facial bones move underneath his skin slightly shifting in and out of place.

Before he makes a stupid mistake by attacking me, I move to him quickly, pinning him up against the wall by his throat, cutting off his airway.

"Calm down Mykel," I growl out, as he struggles to get out of my hold. I let my power pour from me, hitting him like a moving train, forcing his wolf to retreat.

Once he comes down, I release him before he passes out from the lack of oxygen.

I watch as he cough, taking in deep breaths filling his lungs.

Once he catches his breath he stands up to his full height glaring at me. "Unlike you, I know who I am. I'm not some pathetic rogue who's trying to fit into some pathetic human world." He spits at my feet before leaving out the office, heading towards the exit of the building.

I let out a sigh, not knowing this will go so wrong. All I was trying to do was help him, but he felt as if I was pitying and judging who he is.
