I was turning 20 in a few days, and this wasn't what I had planned for my 20th year. I was being suspended from school, having an obsessed ex, being followed around by bodyguards, and not having my privacy outside the house. I sat in my room and thought about how things had changed drastically in a short while and how my life could have been different if certain things hadn't happened to me. Being at home and spending so much time alone had made me realize how lonely and empty I'd felt for an extended period; I was so busy with school and other activities that I didn't even get to notice.
