Car Wreck

"What do you mean?" He leaned on the dining table.

"You hurt my father. Your approach to things was terrible. There would have been better ways to sort these things out. But the way you went about it..."

"I didn't do anything." Hollis insisted.

"You didn't set my father up?" I asked, biting off the bitter sound of that. What did he mean by he didn't do anything, hearing him say that made me feel insulted. "You mean to say you didn't...."

"What should I have done then? I wanted to see him, to speak to him..... He didn't come for the wedding and it made you sad." He let out in frustration.

"He's not going to listen nor give you an audience just like that. Maybe you should let me go with you some other time. We're a couple now, aren't we?"

I watched him shift a bit, a proof that he wasn't too comfortable with my proposal, yet he wouldn't rule it out. "What do you plan for fun today?"
