“Talk to me with respect and not like an errand boy or your maids and even maids deserve their respect.”

Father was stunned. He opened his mouth to speak and closed it. He stomps off leaving the door wide ajar.

Ariel walks out leaving mother and me. I turn to her so she takes the cue to leave or yell or do whatever she thinks she can to support her dearest husband.

Arielle slips to the bed sitting closely. “For the first time you stood up to him. For the very first time you didn't care about his fake praises. Yes I know the man I married, ambitious, stubborn and family oriented. I can't blame him, his childhood was a mess. It inflicted scars and as an adult he's still sulking.”

“Hmmn not the word I was expecting.” I say relaxing my head back into the pillow to relax.

“Son, we need to talk about a matter boggling my heart and there can't be a better time than now.”

I nod. “Go on ma'am.”
