Summer’s POV
When I wake up, I'm covered in sweat. Trying to untangle myself from a sheet that is wrapped around me. I only have a few more days left here at the Forest Green Pack. My final exams are coming up, and I need to return to school. I looked over and saw a sleeping, Zane. Do I sneak out again? Of course, I do. I really enjoyed my punishment.
I managed to get showered, dressed, and brush my hair and teeth. He was completely still, not even stirring. He must be exhausted.
It’s like a case of déjà vu as I shower and run downstairs for breakfast. Mary feeds me, again telling me I should slow down.
I laugh. “I will slow down when I get old, like 40 or something.” That earns me a smack around the head. I am guessing because she is over 40. But she is laughing. “I thought the same when I was your age, but I blinked and am nearly 50.”
After training today, I wanted to have a wander over to the hospital. I should hopefully work there in a few months and wanted to introduce myself to the staff and meet the current doctor. I am greeted and made to feel welcome.
I am shown around. Doctor Parry is so happy I will be joining him. He tells me the only reason he has stuck out the job this far is because Alpha Stan has told him that someone is in training to join him. He is tired of his job and eagerly wants to share the responsibility.
As I was leaving the hospital, I saw a fleet of cars passing the training grounds. I also recognize Blake’s car amongst them. There's a reason why he must be home early. Hopefully, the reason is my pleasure, but I doubt it.
He went with Alpha Stan to discuss some alliances around the country. So, he shouldn’t be back. I will have to wait until later to find out, if I find out.
I have a run to go on with the border patrol. It’s after 2pm before I turn up at the pack house for lunch, but the house is alive with excitement. Someone has come back with Blake.
I hate gossip, it’s just people’s opinions really, so until someone officially tells me something, I am going to go about my business as usual. I make my way to the kitchen and people are staring at me. Despite this, I ignore them. I get worried when Mary comes up to me and hugs me in the kitchen. “I just came for the food,” I tell her.
Luna Susan walks into the kitchen and sees me. She had a worried look on her face. I do not know what is going on. But Mary passes me a beef sandwich, which I devour. Luna Susan tells me that while Blake was away, he met his mate. An Alpha’s daughter, from a pack he was visiting. She is from the Blood Moon Pack.
I only know the rumors of the Blood Moon Pack. Their reputation is that of being vengeful and merciless. They are trained to fight fiercely and show no mercy. They do not care who they kill as long as they kill. It made me feel disgusted when my dad told me about the Blood Moon Pack. I felt they were practically rogues. But part of a pack. But they could just be rumors, and I hated rumors.
I nearly choked on my sandwich. Mary handed me a drink. Both her and Luna Susan looked worried. I regained my composure and asked Mary to fetch my belongings from Zane's room without delay. I ran over to the Luna Susan and started jumping around like an idiot. Telling her I was so happy for Blake and Zane, they had finally found their fated mate. I was so excited for the both of them.
The look on her face was priceless. I think she was expecting me to be upset, put up a fight, or make a deceleration of undying love for her sons. I just reminded her that the mate bond is sacred, and I hold that value above anything else. The boys and I were just fooling around, satisfying any impulses we had, but now they had their mate. I am more than happy for them and will stand aside gracefully. Followed by, oh my gosh, she may have grand babies now. I am so happy for them.
Her smile practically lit up the room. She hugged me again, thanking me for being so positive about their future relationship. I just thought about how I could not be. The goddess made her for them. They are so lucky to have found her.
I was still hugging Luna Susan as Mary came back with my stuff. It didn’t take long. There was only one case, after all. “Luna Susan, please let them know I am so happy for them both, for them all.” I grab my case and left. My parent's house was where I spent the next few days training hard and pushing myself to run further. I had more energy compared to my first few days in the pack. I was hoping the boys were using their energy to please their new mate. I smiled because of my dirty thoughts.
Sunday came quickly. I found myself saying goodbye to everyone before going back to school. My final exams aren’t far away and when I return, I will be heading to the ‘Representatives Meeting’ with my brother and sister. It will be like a family trip, without parents. How much trouble could I get into with my siblings around me?
As I returned to school, I started preparing for my last semester. It was going to be my toughest yet. But I can do it. It is my future, and I can’t wait.
Summer’s POV It's been 4 months since I've been home but taking my final exam last week was a relief. I agreed to meet Autumn at the ‘Representative’s Meeting’ as it was on my way home. My brothers can’t attend this year. Rayne has taken up his new post as part of the royal guard. Gale has been told he has to work. He has become one of the new head warrior, and he is needed to train the new warriors. I have sent most of my belongings home already and just have one suitcase left with my essentials in it. Autumn is bringing my evening wear with her as well as anything else I need for the ‘Representative’s Meeting’. Autumn is less than impressed at having to go. She has been working nonstop since taking over all the pack’s accounting. She tells me it’s a mess. “Dad is a better fighter than accountant.” She told me on the phone. The Blue Moon only appears every 2-3 years. Leading up to it, our wolves go dormant, and we are practically human. It’s weird being without Alexis, bu
Summer’s POV I waited for the elevator to go to my room. Once it arrives, there is a crowd of people getting out. They all rush past me and I walk in. I find it strange, though. One man who had just gotten out turned around and walked back in. I noticed that he was sporting a black suit, which struck me as being quite formal for that time of day. He wore it well. Very well. He must be one of the sexiest men I have seen here. In fact, he is probably one of the sexiest men I have ever seen in my life. Around 6 feet 4, tanned, short dark hair, blue eyes. His gaze is fixed on me as he moves towards me. He pushed the ‘door close’ button. Two more steps and he has a clump of my hair in his hand, tilting my head to the side, sniffing my neck. He started to kiss my neck. I wanted to shout or scream at him. I haven’t given him permission to touch me. But his kisses are electric, rough yet soft. My pleasure is so intense that all I can do is moan. I feel weak at the knees as he carr
Summer's POV I wrapped a sheet around myself. I am not ashamed of my body, but I don’t know who is out there. In fact, I don’t know the man in here either! But he is hot as hell and knows his way around my body. He was still sleeping as I walked out of the room. It takes everything in my power not to swat his firm butt. But I do need that drink. I walked to the kitchen area, finding a glass on the side. I rinse it out and pour myself a glass of water as I am taking a big drink. I heard the elevator ping from behind me. I just carried on drinking, I heard footsteps approaching. No one actually knows where I am right now, but I guess that is what happens when you have a random, sudden hook up. I lowered my glass, glancing over my shoulder to see a man staring at me. His jaw is open, and his fists are clenched. I spin all the way around holding onto my sheet. I smiled at him, “Hi” I say. He doesn’t say anything, he just stares at me. I must have taken a long blink, for one secon
Summer’s POV By morning, I felt thoroughly fucked and I may need a vagina transplant, especially as they both fucked me in it at the same time. I had never gone that far before, but it felt right and amazing at the time. I was sticky though, a combination of my sweat, their sweat and both of our juices. But I felt disgusting, for the right reasons though. My body ached, all of it, even my hair ached. This will be a night to remember for a very long time. I look to my left and see a sexy as hell hunky man, with dark hair, tanned skin and muscles everywhere. When I look to my right, I see his twin who is just as sexy, but with a small scar above his eyebrow, probably unnoticeable if I hadn’t of been that close. But I do need to get out of here! I weighed up my options. I can climb over one of them, which will probably wake them up, or I can shimmy down the bed. I should get out quickly and quietly, but that has never been my style. I can be a little dramatic at times. I sit up a
Summer’s POV I pull up to my mom and dad’s house but it’s quiet, the whole street is quiet, it’s like a scene from a horror movie quiet. I read a text from Autumn. ‘We are at the packhouse, GET HERE.’ I drive as fast as I can when I pull up behind a crowd. Something serious is going on. I got out and started pushing my way through the crowd. On the stage is Carly, with Zane and Blake behind her. She is challenging Alpha Stan as to why he won’t hand over the pack to Zane and Blake. Alpha Stan and Luna Susan, look as dignified as always. Telling her that this decision is not hers or the twins to make, it is his. She was throwing a tantrum right there on the stage. If she does and attacks Alpha Stan, it will be an act of attempted murder and her punishment is banishment. I doubt she is that stupid, she knows the law. She is an Alpha’s daughter, maybe she should act like one. She is angry though, yelling that in her old pack things would be done like this and like that, this
Summer’s POV I entered Alpha Stan’s office accompanied by my dad, mom, Autumn and Gale. Luna Susan is with Alpha Stan, trying to calm him down. He must be fuming. He looked at us all as we took a seat on his couch. “Summer, I want you to know that I love you like a daughter. You have grown up to be a beautiful, respectful young woman. You respect your family, your pack and me.” I nodded at him, not knowing where this was going. “I don’t know exactly what Carly’s agenda is, but she has one. Which is why I am refusing to hand the pack over to the boys. I know precisely why you did what you did, and honestly, I wish I could have done it myself. But I won’t risk my relationship with my sons.” I feel proud of myself at this point. But I can’t help but feel something else is coming. “But Carly is the Alpha’s daughter from the Blood Moon Pack. I have spoken to Carly’s father in the past. He is an appalling man who has made several threats in the event of any harm coming to his daugh
Summer’s POV We all went home and discussed what happened today. I protected my honor and everyone agrees it was the right thing to do. We are all in agreement that Alpha Stan has been placed in a difficult position. His decision is based on what's best for his family, not necessarily the pack. If Blake and Zane weren't going to be Alpha's, we think Carly would have immediately rejected them because she wanted someone in a position of power. We all agree that Alpha Stan is doing the wrong thing, but for all the right reasons. I know that is what my family would do as well.Autumn is going to make things especially difficult for Carly. Sadly dad also tells me that limiting contact is necessary. “She can’t know where you have gone baby girl. It’s not worth the risk.” I still don’t see why I have to leave? I am the victim of her jealousy, and I am the one being punished. None of the other girls the twins slept with are being forced to leave, so why me? She sees me as a threat physi
Summer’s POV They invited me to join the Crystal Lake Pack during that meeting. Alpha Stan provided me with an excellent written reference. Alpha Jackson was more than happy for me to work in the pack hospital as a doctor. Especially the women’s clinic. I wanted to see everything that was on offer for me before I agreed to join the pack. Alpha Jackson seems really interested in having me in his pack, so I might be able to negotiate some things I want. He showed me around the hospital. It was huge, much bigger than the one at Forest Green Pack. On the ground floor. They had a huge canteen. Alpha Jackson explained to me it also served meals for the whole community, as well as where they held pack meetings. They staffed it 24 hours a day. It was actually quite clever to have a large enough room instead of having canteens in multiple buildings. On the same level, they had an emergency department equipped with a ten-bedded trolley bay. The first floor was huge. Alpha Jackson tol
Charlie’s POV “What are we going to do, Jacob? How did we end up losing track of so much time? Darcey is going to kill me.” “Don’t worry too much. Darcey will be at home, tucked up in bed. She won’t even notice you were gone.” Is he serious? Darcey will know. We’re trying for a baby, and she is demanding sex every night. Not just a quick session either! The past week she has been hornier than ever, and I have been running on fumes. She will know I’m not there. I knew it was a mistake. Letting our wolves go for a run before the blue moon. But Jacob insisted. He convinced me I had been stressed lately. That I needed to let off some steam. Now I was going to be in a bucket full of crap. Thanks Jacob, I think to myself. Our wolves took over, blocking us out. They only let us have our bodies back because they became dormant. Now here we are standing here bollock naked in the middle of nowhere, miles from home. “It’s going to take ages to get back.” “It’s going to take you ages.
Stephanie’s POV “Steff. How are you feeling?” A voice asked me. “Horrible. My head hurts so much.” Am I speaking to someone in my mind? Whoever it is laughing at me. Did I actually die? I can’t have died. I would be back in the wolf realm. From the smells in this place, I am definitely not there. In fact, one smell is so very good, like delicious. I can’t put my finger on it, but it is mouth watering. “That’s our mate.” The voice says again. “I don’t have a mate. I don’t have a wolf.” “You do now. Selene sent me to you.” I slowly figured out that’s who I was talking to me. “There’s so much you need to know, Steff. Or is it Annie or Stephanie?” “No, no, no.” I’m so confused. “What I need to know is which wolf Selene sent me?” Whoever she is shakes herself and stands proud. She then pounds her feet. How do I know what she is doing? “Selene sent me to you. She said, I am to look after you. Ensure you get life-long happiness and joy. The love you deserve.” “Fine,
Hecate’s POV “An opportunity has risen. You’re the perfect choice for the role.” I tell the couple that have been living an isolated life. They both look at me. “Selene needs to give a wolf less soul, the powers of the blue moon goddess. Only someone who is willing can accept the powers. It would mean you would have to live in the wolf realm. With him forever.” I said, gesturing towards her mate. “I can live here with him forever.” She responds. “You can live there forever and oversee your children and grandchildren. You can be with their wolves for all eternity.” I now have the attention of them both. “Can I visit them?” She asks curiously. “Occasionally,” I tell her. I know Selene will restrict visits, especially after Steff burned through her last body so fast. “I also want to negotiate with Selene about you overseeing any hybrids. They need support and guidance. Given your experience in this field, I thought it would be fitting.” She looks at me, then at the wolf at her side.
Tripp’s POV “You are a goddam idiot. You just walked away from her. I thought you said you wouldn’t be rejecting her, no matter what?” I said snappily to Elliot. Still not quite believing he walked away from our mate. He walked away and shifted. “I won’t be rejecting her. It’s just a lot to take in. I needed to process everything she told me. She has lived so many lives, knows everything about us. Not to mention she is in our mate’s body. That’s just weird.” “You couldn’t have told her that?” I roared at him angrily. I have been Elliot’s wolf for a long time and that by far is the stupidest thing he has ever done. “Steff’s body was dying because of her frequent visits to earth, to save your family. Annie’s soul was gone, her body was dying. Why can’t she have a life? She has helped so many over the years and is a good friend to all of us wolves.” I said now, trying to reason with the fool. “Do you know her?” Elliot asked me. “Yes. She lives in the wolf realm most of the time with
Elliot’s POV After my graduation, Dad decided to stop at Blackwood farm on his way home to the palace. Dad wanted to visit his mom’s grave. During my studies, I visited Blackwood farm many times. It was so quiet and away from the busyness of the school. It was a great place to study and Tripp, my wolf, loved being surrounded by nature. Dad visited whenever he came to see me. But he always got upset. This will be the last time he will visit Blackwood Farm for quite a while. I expect him to be worse today. I drove back in the early hours of the morning. I know Elizabeth and I have agreed I will start on Monday. But I am so excited. She is looking forward to some time off. My great aunt Elizabeth has been a great mentor since I started my training. I know my grandma has been as well, but she doesn’t practice anymore. Even though I am a few days early, she hands me my white coat. It feels so official putting it on. I can’t stop smiling as she gives me the tour o
Stephanie’s POV “Come on Stephanie. We’re going to be late.” Charlie calls out to me. I know he wants to get to work early today. But, of course, on the day I am supposed to be ready early. Everything goes wrong and I am running late. Darcey gave Charlie a chance. I am thrilled she did. Knowing what he overcame puts my heart at rest that they will take care of each other forever. Since then, Charlie has become a valued member of the kingdom. Proving to Darcey and everyone else that he is a worthy mate for her. She made him work for it, though. Part of the agreement between them was that he didn’t join the royal guard. He agreed not only because Darcey asked him not to, but because he knew Addie and Avery would make his life hell. They still hold a grudge because of his actions and the emotional suffering they caused her. Instead, Charlie got a job teaching the kids in the kingdom’s school. He also organizes regular camping trips for older children and aids with a program to
Steff’s POV I look at both of Annie’s parents. They look lost. “Will you keep her name?” “I would prefer to keep my own name.” Her mom looked like she was about to cry again. “How about a compromise? Combine the two. How does Stephanie sound?” She nods her head, composing herself. “Why is Hecate coming?” Annie’s father asks. “Annie’s body will need to be strengthened to house my soul. It won’t hurt Annie. I assure you.” Her father’s body seemed to sag with relief. “After the soul transfer. I will stay for a while. Let you say really say goodbye to her.” I don’t think they know what to say to that. But they will when the time comes. “No one is to know about this. It has never happened in the past.” I told them both. Just before Hecate appeared. Her appearance can be alarming if you’re not used to seeing her. Hecate has dark hair and dark eyes. For supernatural occasions, which this is, Hecate wears dark clothes and a spiked headpiece. She looks like an evi
Darcey’s POV When I woke up, all I wanted to do was find Charlie. The images in the lake still broke my heart. But what I needed more than anything was a drink. Elizabeth had been hydrating my body with some intravenous fluids, but my throat was as dry as a desert. Then people started fussing over me. “Take it easy was Caren’s advice.” Esme assured Caren I would. Then she promised to stay by my side until I made a full recovery. “Ayla, you had better make this a swift recovery.” I told her. Although I love my sister, spending a lot of time with her could be challenging. In fact, I am not sure we would be friends if we weren’t sisters. We are that different. But we are always there for one another. I know Charlie isn’t going anywhere. Nat visited me, telling me she had confined him and Jacob to a suite on the first floor. “You make it sound like he is a prisoner.” Esme says curiously to her. “He saved her life.” “I know,” Nat says sweetly. “When Darcey is feeling bet
Goddess Selene’s POV “You said we had more time.” Annie’s mom questions me. I want to remind her I am a goddess. But I really want Steff to have Annie’s body. “You do. I can now answer your questions.” I explained to Annie’s parents. Steff steps forward. “I am the blue moon goddess. I take care of the wolves in Selene’s realm during the blue moon and the eclipse. Your wolves know me well. The rest of the time, I am Selene’s companion. In my youth, my physical body hurt so badly it died. I now require a host body, a vessel to house my soul. Selene says you are considering letting me use your daughter’s body?” “Yes,” Annie’s father says proudly. “It would be an honor.” “I just want to know she will be cared for.” Her mom cried. “I have taken care of many bodies over my long life. Your daughter will be no different.” Her mom cries again but nods her head, implying her consent. “Steff, will you remain with them until Hecate arrives? I have business elsewh
