When Dawn arrived at their home, Isidora was already there.
She greeted them as soon as she entered.
“Go and change your clothes. Dinner will be ready soon.” Estela told her.
Dawn nodded and went inside her room, placing her backpack on her desk. She then changed into a shirt and shorts.
As she was about to leave her room, she glanced at her backpack. She went to open it, taking out all the exam papers she received.
‘She would be asking me about this so might as well bring it.’
Right on cue, as soon as she exited her room, she
“1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8…..” Dawn kept counting as she pushed herself up from the ground and back. She didn’t stop until Eugenio Ladera told them to.When he did, she stood up with a little difficulty but not as much as the next person who slumped on the ground. They were all gathered by Eugenio Ladera as part of their cadet training. He went around and corrected the student’s posture and stance. He reprimanded those who couldn’t help but chat with the next person.Dawn, Valerie and Aria however only stood straight facing forward. She was drenched in sweat but sh
Days came by in a flash. The campus was now busy with various activities. This month was their National Nutrition Month where a set of activities were geared towards giving importance to health through food.Students were encouraged to join cooking contests which are by year level and set up food stalls as well. The whole campus smelled of different kinds of dishes that one would instantly become hungry just by walking around.Their class was divided into groups of eleven. It was just right that counting Dawn and her friends, they were a total of 11.While the other groups made Filipino dishes such as pancit with different vegetables, chicken strips and shr
The smell of various spices and aroma wafted throughout the whole campus. The students, teachers and nannies were already buying from the ones who had finished cooking and were already evaluated by the judges.Meanwhile, the Junior students of the High School department had just started cooking. The tables nearby were already busy with peeling, chopping and started mixing it together in the pot or pan.“Umm.. do you think this is enough?” Gillian asked her teammates.“Umm.. I think it needs more salt..” Immanuel said.
Music played from the gym. High School students were gathered inside. They were seated according to their year level.“Welcome to this school year’s culmination of Nutrition Month.” Bridget Concepcion and Stephan Javier were the hosts for the program. They began it with a prayer, the singing of a national anthem, and a short speech by the principal.“Let’s bring in the first year students for their presentation..” Bridget announced.Soon, there were students who walked to the middle of the gym. They stood forming one line.As the music started, their hands moved in the opposite direction as to the one in front of them. So
This time Freya finally got eliminated. When she looked at Dawn to check where she would go, Dawn was still looking confused as to which one she’ll choose. Until eventually, the time was almost up, just in time for Dawn to reach the correct answer. On the side, Keenan was beginning to see the ruse Dawn had cooked up.An amused smile graced his lips.“Eh? Is there something funny?” Blake asked him. They were both facilitating the game. “Our classmates are already eliminated.”“Heh. They should have studied when we told them..”
It was almost noontime when Dawn waited by the bus stop, declining every multicab, jeepney and bus that passed by.[Aria: On the way..][Me: Okay. I’m at the bus stop..][Aria: Okay!]“Dawn? Are you going somewhere?” Giancarlo noticed the basket she was carrying. Dawn was wearing baby blue short, white shorts that showed her now slender legs. She was also wearing havaianas flip-flop sandals.“Yeah..” She nodded.“Let me guess. You’r
The smell of the salty sea air brought back memories of her time in Maldives on one of her trips with her husband, Asier. They had saved up for a long time, taking overtime work so they could go on vacation. At that time, Dawn had just changed jobs. From working at a restaurant to being a Phlebotomist to being an Author. She was at a point where she realized that she couldn’t keep still. She had plenty of interests and could not focus on one for a long time. She was lucky enough to have a husband who continued to support her even if there were times when she was too much. There were days when she would feel down all of a sudden, questioning her worth. But Asier would always bring her out of this deep hole that she had dug herself. He would always help her see the light
“Sure!” Blake didn’t even try to act shy about it and quickly took a taco, and was about to add salsa. “Which one is spicy?”“Both are spicy. The red one is spicier since we used habaneros on that one. The other got jalapeños.” Aria answered.“Oh.. habaneros then..” He then took a bite and seconds later, he panted. “Oof! That’s so good but so spicy.. Oh the heat is gone now.. Yum!!! You guys are awesome for making this!!! Keenan, you were right! It is really good.”&nb
