Renata broke down after hearing everything from Michelangelo. She didn’t even think about if he was telling her the truth. She knew she was not allowed outside. And that was only possible if she really was a slave. But why would her friends accept those terms?

When she met Narciso he was a sweet man, yet she distinctly remembered how he barged into her house, how he broke the door, how he pulled her hair and injected her with something. Why can’t she remember anything after that? How did Michelangelo buy her? How did she end up in his house?
