49: Reminiscing the Past

I stared down on my coffee lips are pursed while looking at the hot liquid with nothing but coldness written on my face.

It's my third winter here in Las Vegas. Yet here I am, nothing could warm the coldness inside me. I have been alone here for two years. I haven't seen Morris in two years. The night he said 'I love you' was also the night he left, the night when we cut our ties. The night when all I did was cry until dawn broke.

Everything has an end. Only that, our relationship was cut shorter than it should be.

And all I can do was to accept it, to move on and live my life without him.

"Coffee is meant to be drank, not to be stared at."

I looked up when I heard that voice. A grin was plastered on his face as he sat across me. He set down coffee and a plate of brownies on the table.

"What are you thinking, huh?"

I sipped on my coffee. "Never mind, Wilson. It's just nonsense things."
