Walking aimlessly in the middle of the forest, Paul’s body weakly stumbled around as tears streamed down his face. He needed to get out of there. He couldn’t stay there watching, knowing his grandfather’s fate. It broke his heart. It broke his heart because although his grandfather was known to be this terrible man, he still took them in, and gave them a home, food, and clothes. He couldn’t fully hate his grandfather, but he couldn’t forgive him either.

Now his grandfather was gone and his sister was still missing. Paul felt truly alone. He knew that Giovanni and the others were looking for him, but he didn’t have the strength to face them; he couldn’t handle their looks of pity.

Wiping his face as he looked around, Paul realized that he was in the middle of nowhere until he caught a familiar scent.
