I awake in the hospital in a room dark and alone I reach for my stomach and stiffen immediately when I no longer feel the presence of my baby girl. My mind begins to race as I take in my surroundings turning on the light above my bed. On the board in front of me, it reads baby child's which means I have delivered her.
Sighing I look for the bassinet but it's not in view. I open a mind link and close it back. Sitting back on the bed I recall the look in Alpha Zeke's eyes as he confronted me about stopping the fight.
The lost look he held as if he has been deceived, the hurt that flared up in my chest at that moment was enough to cause this early delivery. Was I wrong I mean I know Anthony needed to be taught a lesson but death wasn't the answer I don't wish him dead and if the moon goddess is right we will need him in our future?
