#Chapter108

I kept running as fast as my legs would take me, my lungs were burning, and the air was depleting from me. Finally, I stopped, needing to catch my breath. I looked around me and saw no one and heard nothing. Thinking I was safe for a few moments, I inspected my body, looking for cuts, bruises or anything. I had some bruising throughout my whole body, some cuts and scrapes here and there. But as my hands roamed my body, I felt two puncture marks on the lower part of my neck. It was hard to determine as I couldn’t see, but they felt like bite marks. Fuck! What the hell is going on. I stopped my inspection as I heard a branch snap to my right, then my left, I could hear shuffling within the trees, but I couldn’t see anything.

“Who’s out there?” I shouted into the forest.

No response, but whoever was there was getting closer to me.

“I’m warning you! You are picking a fight with the wrong person.” My heart was thumping in my chest now.

Still no response. However, I saw tho

#Chapter109I laughed, maybe a bit too much, causing him to scowl at me, which made me laugh even more. “Sorry, I don’t mean to laugh. Ok, maybe I did. But I think you’ve had too much to drink.”Cain wagged his finger at me. “No, I haven’t had enough to drink. You’ve had too much to drink.” His words were slurred, and his cheeks were flushed now. I pursed my lips and shook my head at him. “Yea, ok there, buddy, you keep telling yourself that. Maybe we should get back to bed.” I suggested. He pouted, “But I don’t want to.” Cain said in a child-like manner. I stood from my chair and walked towards him, taking his drink. “Well, too bad, you big baby. It’s time for night, nights.” Cain rolled his eyes. “Fine! Party pooper.” He said as he stuck his tongue out at me. I raised an eyebrow. “Really? You are so childish,” I said while shaking my head at the large man-baby before me. I had never seen this side of him, and to be honest, I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more than the oth

#Chapter110His hand continued to make its way down my body, all the way to the seam of my pants. Cain traced his fingers along the waistband of my pants, ever so gently, teasing and toying with my hot, sensitive skin. Cain then reached under my pants and glided his fingers along the seam of my underwear, causing me to tremble and squeeze my thighs together. Next, he rubbed my hot, soaking core over top of my underwear with his index finger. The friction made everything more intense; my pussy was throbbing, swollen and aching for more. My juices were soaking through my underwear, which made him groan with approval upon feeling the thin fabric that separated his hand from my folds. He continued to rub circles on my clit, which was becoming agonizing now. Still, even through my lust-filled haze, something in the back of my mind was telling me to stop this, as I haven’t entirely accepted Cain as my mate yet, but there was also a voice telling me to continue, to accept my fate with him

#Chapter111I continued to stare when I heard the door creak open. I whipped around to find Calyx standing there.“What are you doing in here?” He questioned in a sharp tone. I shrugged. “I couldn’t sleep. So, I was snooping around and found this beautiful place.” I said, gesturing around the room. His expression turned neutral. “You shouldn’t be snooping around, especially by yourself.” He attempted to assert himself. I waved him off. “Yea, yea. Who are these people?” I pointed towards the portraits above the fireplace. Calyx sighed. “Those are mine and Cain’s parents. My mother Kasdeya, and my father, Langston. They died a few years ago during a battle with another pack.” He stood there for a moment, staring longingly at the painting of his mother; a look of sorrow featured his expression. I glanced between him and the paintings. “Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. What were they like? If you don’t mind me asking.”He gave me a half-smile “My mother; was amazing, radiant, cla

#Chapter112I walked over to the balcony doors and peered out. The sun was shining, and the birds were singing; it was going to be a beautiful day. So I decided to go out onto the balcony and enjoy a bit of fresh air while I waited for Cain. I loved the outdoors; it brought me peace, calmness and serenity, just as it did my wolf, causing her to chuff in approval. I looked around the yard, and in the very far corner, I noticed what looked like a training camp; I’ll have to ask Cain about that. I haven’t trained since coming here, and I want to maintain my physical shape. Hopefully, they have archery. I crave to feel the bow in my hand, the arrow between my fingers and hear the sound of the bowstring being released.I was enjoying the sun when Cain snuck up behind me. “What are you doing out here? You should not be out here alone, especially after what happened.” He scolded me. “I’m fine. I’m a big girl, and I can take care of myself, just as I have, long before you came along.” I

#Chapter113After finishing breakfast, Calyx took me to the archery range; it was much larger than the one we had back home. There were numerous targets ready to be fired at and various bows and arrows. Ok, I take it back; this is my favourite place now, not the bathroom. As I stood there, drooling over everything, Eve approached us. My wolf's hackles raised as she began growling at the venomous woman coming towards us. “Hey Calyx, did you bring her down here to put her out of our misery.” She said, smiling from ear to ear. Calyx let out a low growl “Eve, I’m warning you. One more snarky remark like that, and you will be stripped of your title and placed on toilet duty for a month.” He said with a smirk. She huffed. “Whatever, Calyx. Have fun, bitch.”I shook my head at her stupid words. However, I didn’t retort back; I just considered using her as a target, which may hurt my reputation. Also, I was sure Cain wouldn’t be too happy with me, and I didn’t need any more of his sh

#Chapter114As Cain approached us, Samara bowed her head in respect. “Alpha, pleasure as always.”He nodded. “Samara. Freja, come with me, please.” His tone was clipped and short.  I sighed and turned to face him. “Why?”He scowled at me, “Because I said so.” The expression on his face was daring me to defy him, to disrespect him in front of a pack member and promising if I did, I would pay for it. Not wanting to fight with him, I sighed heavily. “Fine!” I turned back to Samara, smiling. “It was great getting to know you; I had a lot of fun, Samara, thank you. Hopefully, we can do this again.”“I did too, Freja and you as well.” She smiled brightly. I returned the bow and arrows, then walked over to Cain. “Where are we going?” I asked him, annoyance in my tone. He spun on his heels and started walking. “Follow me.”I followed him towards a large clearing, it was empty, and no one else was around. He stopped in the middle of the field and turned to face me. “I thought l

I stood there in awe, my mouth agape. Calyx got out of the car and came around to the passenger side.He chuckled. “Do you like it?”I huffed. “Like it? It’s gorgeous; I didn’t even know such beautiful machines existed.” I admitted with embarrassment.Calyx stared down at the car. “She’s a 1966 Mustang, and she is indeed a beauty.” Calyx opened the door and gestured for me to get in. “Come on; you’ll enjoy it.”“Oh, why thank you, kind sir.” I climbed into the car and found it surprisingly comfortable, but it smelled funny. I scrunched my nose. “What’s that smell?” “Oh, that’s just the fuel. Nothing to worry about.” He chuckled. Calyx revved the engine, and the car rumbled to life, vibrating throughout and causing a tingly sensation between my thighs. The tires screeched as we pulled a

#Chapter116After a long and busy day, I decided to have a nice, relaxing bath, needing to wash the day away. I soaked in the large tub until my fingers started to prune, warning me to get out before I looked like a shrivelled-up piece of fruit. I stepped out of the tub, dried myself and threw on my white nightgown.I entered the bedroom and saw that Cain was back; he was sitting in one of the chairs by the fire. He seemed lost and mesmerized by the flames as he stared into them. I walked over to him. “Everything ok?” I asked, looking down at him. Cain remained still for a moment, and his gaze slowly rose to meet mine. He trapped me in my spot with his eyes, staring at me with lust and a look of longing. Cain wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him. “It is now.” He said quietly, and my wolf purred at the close contact between us. She seemed to be warming up to Cain and loved it when he paid attention to us. He slowly lifted my nightgown, exposing my underwe

I looked up at Cain. “I need to use the washroom,” I said quickly, then spun on my heel, practically running towards the bathroom. I made it to the bathroom and hurled the contents of my stomach into the cold porcelain toilet. Once I was finished, I stood from the floor and leaned over the sink, steadying myself. I closed my eyes and attempted to regulate my breathing and erratic heart rate. As I opened my eyes again, I was no longer in the bathroom but back in the forest of the damned and standing before the willow tree. I glanced around frantically, wondering what the fuck was going on. Helena appeared out of nowhere, scaring the life out of me and causing me to gasp. “Holy shit! You scared me.” I shouted at her. She raised a brow and gave me a deadpan stare. “Watch that tongue of yours.” Helena scolded m

#Chapter170Things had been going well for Cain and me since our ceremony. We couldn’t get enough of each other, taking advantage of every opportunity we had to devour one another. Then, the day after our mating, we had Samara and Eve’s funeral, saying our goodbyes and laying them to rest. It was a beautiful farewell; friends and family had gathered around, saying something about the fallen pack members before Cain put them into the ground. Due to their crimes, Cain and I had decided to do things differently regarding a funeral for Calyx, Adela and Erik. Aside from what they had done, they were family and deserved a proper burial. So we decided to bury the trio on the border of both packs and kept things modest, saying a simple goodbye before coating their bodies in soil.As time went on, I slowly learned how things worked around here and adapted to my duties as Luna. Things were a bit rough for a while, but Cain was supportive and guided me through things, being patient with me as

#Chapter169Violet grabbed my hand before leading me out of the bedroom, through the halls and out the back doors. She abruptly stopped as we exited through the doors. “I need to cover your eyes.” She told me. I furrowed my brows. “Why?” I asked hesitantly. She gave me a warm and comforting smile. “Just trust me.” Violet requested of me, and although I was reluctant, I did trust her. I nodded and allowed her to cover my eyes with her hand, knowing that I would be safe with her. Violet held my hand in hers and guided me through the yard, warning me of any obstacles in my way, so I didn’t trip and make a fool of myself. Not knowing where we were going or what the fuck was going on made me feel quite uneasy. My heart rate increased, my chest rising and falling heavily, as we continued to walk. I huffed in frustration, becoming impatient now. “I don’t like this, you know,” I told Violet honestly, and she chuckled at me. Did she think I was joking? After a few moments, we finally

He laid down on the cool sheets, flat on his back and pulled me into him, wrapping his arm tightly around me as he yanked me closer to him, leaving no space between us. Cain kissed the top of my head, lingering there for a moment. Both of us were comfortable, feeling content in each other's arms as the heavyweight of sleep wrapped around us. This moment almost felt surreal, like everything was a dream. Cain had nearly died, I had almost lost him, and I could’ve died, to be honest, a piece of me did. I got Cain back, but I had lost something that meant just as much to me as he does. I could only hope that she was alright and happy wherever she was. I woke up, and the bed was empty; slight panic stirred within me, as I didn’t

#Chapter167“I think you need to be taught a lesson.” He said in a seductive and husky tone. I squeezed my thighs together as the lust for him grew. “Yes, I do,” I whispered, and Cain released a satisfactory growl before nipping my ear. He reared back, then flipped me over and onto my back. Cain straddled me, careful not to put his full weight on me and then ripped my shirt in half. I wasn’t wearing a bra, and he seemed pleased with this, as a smile spread across those plump lips while he cupped my breasts in his hands and rolled my nipples between his thumb and forefinger. Cain stood from the bed and removed what was left of my shirt. He ripped the torn fabric in half again before flipping me back onto my stomach. Then, straddling me once again, Cain tied my hands together with a piece of the shirt before tying the other end to the bed post. My panties were soaked from my juices, as the desire to have him was stronger than ever. Once he was finished tying me, he rubbed his hand

Once he was gone, I laid down on the bed, letting more tears stream down my face again. I screamed internally at the anger and grief that was consuming my mind and body. I sucked in a deep breath, trying to calm myself and decided to have a shower. I got up from the bed and started walking to the bathroom but stopped, my eyes drifting towards the balcony doors. I walked over to the doors, whipping them open and stepped outside. There was a storm brewing in the sky, and it was now raining. I stood there, the rain soaking my body, and I fell to my knees. As I rubbed my hands down my face, feeling more overwhelmed and distraught by the second, I looked to the sky and asked why? Just as I expected, I got no response, no answers, and I felt more lost than I ever have in my life. I closed my eyes and slowly stood to my f

#Chapter165I peered down at Cain, my eyes taking in his exhausted features. Cain wasn’t wearing a shirt, only a blanket covering him. I slid the blanket down, revealing his once muscular physique and seeing him in such a withering state made my chest ache. My hand glided along his skin, stopping above his heart, and I could feel his weakened heart slowly beat against my palm. I reached down for the powder and opened the bottle before sprinkling the yellow substance onto his chest. Then, just as Helena instructed, I grabbed the moon rock next and placed it on top of the powder, in the center of his chest. I closed my eyes for a beat and sucked in a deep breath, trying to calm my frazzled nerves. Next, I repeated the words she told me. “Death be no more and life come forth,” I said aloud, my voice cracking slightly. I then sat back and watched him curiously. My eyes frantically searched Cain’s statuesque frame for any movement, but there was nothing. His chest began to rise and fal

I closed my eyes and reminded myself of who I was, that I am a fucking warrior. I lifted my arm and elbowed Erik in the stomach, causing him to release me. He stumbled backwards and clutched his stomach, but that only lasted for a second before he stood to his full height again, glaring daggers at me. I looked around the ground and spotted a large, fallen tree branch. I hurriedly picked up the branch and swung it at him furiously. However, Erik found this amusing and started to laugh at my feeble attempt to attack him. I swung at him again, the branch brushing against his chest this time, and his playful expression quickly vanished. Erik leapt forward, coming straight for me, but he didn’t get too far, as suddenly, he was lifted from the ground. Gunnar stood there, black eyes and snarling viciously, as he held Erik by the throat off the g

I dug my hands into the cool earth and backed away from him, but the further I got, the closer he came. Finally, I tried to get up from the ground, and Erik kicked me back down with his boot. I stilled, deciding to stay where I was and instead propped myself up onto my elbows. “What the fuck, Erik?” My tone's anger and the hurt of his betrayal only grew. His upper lip curled into a snarl as he narrowed his eyes. “That cure is coming with me.” He growled out, his tone deep and demanding. I snorted and then gave him a deadpan stare. “Over my dead body.” Even though I was shitting my pants right now, as he had an advantage over me, I refused to let him take what was rightfully mine. I had earned this cure and gave up a piece of myself in the process, just to get it. Erik stepped closer, his feet on either side of my legs now, trapping me in my place, before stopping and sn
