  Jason's POV

"Honestly, Mrs..." I started to say, but the feisty older woman who had my arm in a death grip interrupted me.

"Alice! Everyone calls me Alice. My husband was a deadbeat in life; I refuse to be connected to him in death too." The way she spoke, so matter of factly, had me hiding a smile.

"I bet you she killed him," Archer chuckled, taking a liking to the older woman.

"What gave it away, buddy? Her smile as she said he was dead, or the skip in her step." I laughed, letting the woman turn me around to face her; with a final look, I watched the redhead disappear into the distance with the insolent prick. Archers whining, distracting me from Alice.

Turning my attention back to a waiting Alice, embarrassment crossed my features, noticing the knowing look on her face. Without a word, she looked behind me in the direction her companions had just gone and back at me.

"Like I was saying, I am sorry for my godson Damiens's behaviour today; he can be a little overzealous when interested in a female." When she mentioned the male, the twinkle in her eye was not lost on me. "I will speak with him." She added, nodding respectfully.

"Honestly... Alice... It's fine. I should have controlled my temper better. Don't worry; I hope I haven't scared the girl too much." I fished, looking for information. The look on her face told me I would have to work harder than that if I wanted her to spill anything.

"She looked petrified." Archer groaned dramatically. "She wouldn't even look at us before she left!"

"And whose fault is that, hmm," I stated honestly, not wanting to argue, but he needed to control his temper better and take some responsibility for today. We hadn't even seen my Father yet; he undoubtedly would be pissed with us.

"It's that dick's fault! He started it." Archer countered with a snarl.

"No, you did, buddy. He is allowed to touch her. They are friends, she trusts him." I explained with a sigh.

"He is a dead friend" I couldn't disagree with him. I understood why he was angry. I wasn't thrilled at being challenged in front of my Father either, but I understood that there was a time and a place for things, and in that hall surrounded by people was not the time to teach that cocky shit a lesson.

"Abigail is a big girl, Jason. She is just not used to how things work around here." She grinned, watching me through expert eyes.

"Do you have a phone number for her? I want to put this right, sooner rather than later." I coaxed with a charming smile that usually got me what I wanted!

"Give her time. I am sure this will all be forgotten." With a reassuring pat on my hand, quickly changing the subject to the town's renovations.

"HA! Little rusty in the art of seduction, huh? What's wrong with your charms not working today, Casanova?" Archer said, enjoying himself at my expense.

"Fuck off, Archer. I am trying to fix your mess." I hissed, annoyed at being called out on my failings.

"You just got shut down by an O.A.P. You're an Alpha's son! We have Alpha blood! Use it!" His frustrations were evident in his tone.

"I am not forcing her to give me something she clearly doesn't want to! And that is final! I won't be THAT sort of Alpha! There is such a thing as free will, something you and my Father seem to forget." I snapped angrily. I knew what I was and where my bloodline came from. That didn't mean I wanted to use it as a power over people, even if they were just humans.

"You're weak!" My wolf declared with a growl. "How will you ever run a pack if you can't make tough decisions?"

"Forcing an old lady to give me a number, just so you can fuck your next target is not exactly a priority, is it?" I shot back, feeling just as frustrated as my wolf. We were usually on the same page regarding our principles, so why was he willing to act like a savage beast? Shutting him and his bad mood out of my head, I focused back on Alice, who was still discussing the town's renovation. She was obviously very proud of the town and its plans to 'attract more visitors.'

Feeling my Father's presence beside me, I closed my eyes cautiously. With a firm pat on my back letting me know he would take it from here. Tensing, readying myself for a scolding as soon as he saw Alice off, which he would!

"Not too many visitors, I hope! Blue Moon Creak likes its privacy." He interjected; Alice's hand dropped to her side, releasing me from her iron-tight grasp. I could feel her unease around my father, something most people felt, including me. He was a force to be reckoned with... on a good day!

"Maxwell," She greeted him politely. "Insightful meeting." Her tone was a little curt but still pleasant enough to pass as respectful.

"Well, it was certainly entertaining, if nothing else." His eyes fell on me with a curious smirk that unsettled me. I Prepared myself to face the anger he kept well hidden from mortals, but I knew it would be lurking behind his eyes given my outburst today. However Archer and I were confused when we only saw amusement swirling in his eyes.

"I am sorry for my Godson's behaviour; I was just telling your son here that Damien can be a little excitable at times," Alice repeated with what I thought was a flirtatious smile, obviously switching approach.

"I know someone with a puppy like that, pissing over everyone it met, too. It just needed to learn its place." Closing my eyes, I inwardly sighed; my Father was not known for his subtleness. "I hope your godson learns his place... and soon."

"Hmm" All flirtatious charm gone from her voice, looking between us, she forced a smile onto her wrinkled face.

"Will you excuse me, I must speak to Ronny about the town flower beds." With a curt nod to us both, she walked towards a group of men. I smiled apologetically at her, feeling for her. Conversing with an Alpha was never easy, but my Father was known to be particularly prickly.

"Not like he is wrong, though, is it!" Archer grumbled. "Perhaps we need to cut his balls off; it works for overactive puppies! I heard it calms them right down." He continued with a smirk. “If we cut properly, it could calm him down permanently." He added in all seriousness.

"I am not saying no, buddy, but maybe we try a less murderous approach first." I tried to compromise with a smirk.

"And if it doesn't work?" He asked bluntly, his eyes darkening with each passing thought of Damien.

"We do it your way!" I relented with a sigh, knowing that Archer would only be satisfied once he got a taste of blood—a certain someone's blood in particular.

  "DEAL"

Jason's POV "So, what the fuck was that today then, son?"   "Subtle Pop's!" Shoving my hands into the pockets of my jeans, I looked anywhere but at my Father. Seeing people had slowly branched off and were starting to make their way down to the central part of town, I sighed, happy that we would soon return to pack territory. Clicking my tongue, frustrated at the fact I had embarrassed myself, Sighing deeply, I was meant to be the next Alpha of The Blue Moon pack; I was meant to be respected, feared, and an undisputable force. Yet I had just allowed someone to disrespect me! Disrespect my family and pack! My Father had every right to be annoyed with me. I would be pissed off too. "The girl?" He prodded, arching a brow; his tone was softer than I expected, more curious than pissed off. But still, I knew he was expecting an answer. I could play the role of brooding son, or I could fess up! But honestly, I didn't want to discuss it because I didn't understand Archer's behaviour mys

Abigail's POV Running the key to my new home through my fingers, the cool metal soothing my nerves as I looked up at the 'luxury housing' complex I had just signed myself up for for the next six months of my immortal life. The advert read: 'Centrally located apartments in an up-and-coming area near local amenities. With immediate access to the area's natural beauty spots, this luxury accommodation is unbeatable for its breathtaking views of the surrounding forests. The location places residents among the area's best dining and shopping options, perfect for the modern person.' Chewing the inside of my lip, I let out a soft chuckle letting my eyes roam the beautiful old brick walls covered in luscious shades of green moss. The beauty ending there! Windows sporting dirty nets and curtains that barely fit the frames and looked like they had never seen the inside of a washing machine. The gravelled path leading to the apartment was filled with potholes and scattered rubbish, adding

Abigail's POV Finally, I turned and faced a thin, ill-looking woman who looked like she had not eaten a proper meal in months. With a shrug, the stranger nodded to the door opposite, letting me know that she lived there, and held her hand out for me to shake, which after a moment I did, although inwardly saying a prayer of thanks that I could not get mortal bugs. "Hi, I'm Abigail; I just moved in; this is Damien," I said, nodding to a rather pissed-off-looking Damien. The neighbour's loud scoff filled the room, her dull voice declaring that she would never remember my name. With a shrug of my tiny shoulders, saying nothing, I smiled, seeing a little pair of cute chubby fingers on the side of the mother's jeans. A child! I loved children, although I never wanted any of my own. The prospect of bringing a child into this world, to expect them to live with the issues and struggles I had, too, was out of the question. Nevertheless, I truly adored children finding their innocence and

Abigail's POV "Come on, Red! I don't know what I will catch in there!" Damien protested gingerly. Laughing at him as he stared between me and the bath from where he stood leaning up the bathroom door. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his pettiness. "Scaredy cat!" I teased, pouting my lips; watching his face tense, he was clearly trying to work through some inner thoughts. Letting my eyes scan over his body, I sucked in air softly; he was incredibly handsome! Model handsome! His hair seemed to change colour from dark blonde to light brown. However, the gold shimmers that caught the light never dulled. How he styled it reminded me of a TV series I had seen: Peaky Blinders — with the sides cropped short, he looked both fierce and sexy. Running my teeth over my bottom lip, trying to process how this man made me feel! His eyes shined at me knowingly, making my heart race; He was fully aware that I was drinking him in, and he liked it. Letting out the breath I didn't know I was ho

Damien's POV With Red at my side and the mutt left behind licking his wounds, I had to admit; this day was turning out to be better than I expected! Turning the corner and coming to a halt, the suitcase hit the back of my legs. My eyes studied the building, appalled that this was where she contemplated living; she liked to tease. I knew that much. Maybe this was another one of her jokes. Looking at her nervously, I could see the excitement crossing her face, pride even as she mentioned her Mother having a heart attack at her living here. I wondered if she realised that if she stayed here, there was a good chance that someone was going to harvest her heart and other vital organs! "Mmmhmm, I don't blame her, Red!" I whispered. Noting the shrug of her slender shoulders, I sighed heavily, unsure what to do; I did not want her staying here, but as a stranger to her, I knew she wouldn't listen to me! However, it was no secret that her Mother seemed insanely protective of her! Even if

Jason's POV Even an afternoon training session hadn't satisfied my wolf. Hours I'd gone one to one with Marcus and his son and my best friend Tommy, the pack's two strongest fighters beside my father and me. The frustration I felt building throughout the day had still not settled inside me. Instead, it was like a rabid beast clawing at my insides! Watching that pompous prick flaunt that girl in front of me had set me off more than I would like to admit, and as the day went on, I found myself wallowing in self-pity! Not sure what I hated more, the fact she was not within my reach or the fact I wanted her to be. "Son, I know it's been a difficult day for you and Archer, but can you get your wolf under control?" My father's cautious tone asked across the table. Raising a brow I shovelled a fork full of mashed potatoes into my mouth, my parents looked around at the omegas that had slowly moved to the outskirts of the pack's communal kitchen and dining hall. Only then could I feel the

I winked, heading out the door she held open for me, turning in the hallway to lean up the doorframe; looking at her, I could see the dark circles forming under her eyes. I guess it had been a long few days for her. "Make sure you lock this behind me." I nodded towards the door, keeping my tone gentle, not wanting to scare her, but frankly, I wasn't comfortable leaving her here. "This neighbourhood isn't the best; there are some right crazies that hang around in these parts." "Yeah, one of them is at my door right now!" She teased with a roll of her beautiful emerald eyes. "And one lives just over there." She grinned, lowering her voice. Her girlish giggle had me smiling. She was adorable! "My point exactly!" My lips curled up into a smirk, I didn't want to leave, but she needed rest! "Night Red." Nodding towards the door, I stepped back from the doorframe. "Lock it! Ok!" "Yes, sir, right now, sir." She laughed,

  • The Alphas' Angel   CHAPTER 16 I Can Smell Her

Jason's POV Running the pack borders with the wolves on patrol seemed to do Archer good; he had always bonded with Rafe Tommy's wolf, the pair constantly pushing the other to do better.   We had been out here for hours, and I could feel him calming down with each mile we covered. I had been so preoccupied with Kayla. Lately, I hadn't let Archer stretch his legs and have some freedom; perhaps that's why he is acting so strangely today. He must have been feeling claustrophobic hulled up in my head. We had run this route hundreds of times; the thick moss-covered trees felt like they touched the skies, the trickling stream that ran through the forest to the right, to the left, the wild ivy covered most of the fallen trees and ranches, hiding the natural wildlife that nestled within. I knew the land surrounding Blue Moon Creak like the back of my hand, yet running this particular part of the trail had never felt like it did tonight. Something had changed in the air.   Those on duty

Damien's POV Cracking my neck from side to side, I stretched across the bed, searching for my ruby rose; a groan slipped from my lips, finding the sheets cold and empty. Flopping over onto my back, I could smell Red, so I knew she was here somewhere.   "Get your ass back in bed!" I grumbled, hearing running water somewhere in the background. She had apparently gotten up to have a shower after last night... Pausing, I tried to recall the night before, our dinner with my father? But there was nothing. No memories, no recalculation of Red and I! The last thing I could remember was training with my father, and then nothing! No matter how hard I clawed at my memories, whatever had happened last night had been erased from my mind, and there was only one male with enough juice and need to do that to me!   My father! Opening my eyes, my green hues fell on the pristine white ceiling, with no mould, no dirt or no peeling paint. This wasn't Abigail's room; it was mine. Sitting up in the b

Abigail's POV Nothingness, an empty black void! That was all I could see, but I could smell the same stench I had smelt for hours: death! Straining my eyes to see further into the cell I was being held captive in, but the darkness was total and unwavering. I was frightened, and that shocked me; the idea of being scared of the dark was alien to me, but I knew my new roommate was lurking, ever present in the cell; I merely couldn't see him; the only thing that let me know he was still here was the occasional flick of a lighter being opened and closed.   My skin still felt tight from where he had run that lighter across my throat, jaw and eyelids. The sick fuck enjoyed watching my flesh scorch and singe, but I think he got off on the smell of charred skin, specifically my burnt skin. I had lived behind a mask of innocence all my life, never wanting to admit that darkness and evil excited me. Yet, this dipshit wore his evil proudly and enjoyed seeing the fear in others' eyes as he cir

Jason's POV   "You know the girl set you up, right?" My Father accused with a side glance; sitting back against the headboard, I stared at him blankly. "Bullshit!" Archer laughed, settling behind my eyes to observe him closely. "If he truly thought that she had anything to do with that beast, she'd still be here." "We don't know if Marcus did take her home." I countered. As hard as it was to accept, we didn't know anything and wouldn't, until we were out of this bed.   "What makes you say that?" I asked my Father casually, pulling the sheet off me and swinging my legs around the bed, for the first time seeing the damage. "The best nearly tore your leg off, not to mention.." My Father's voice trailed off as he nodded to my chest, seeing half-moon gashes slowly healing along my rib cage. "I would say it used you like a chew toy!" My Father scoffed.   "It took me by surprise; I didn't smell anything or see anything beforehand, no warning, no nothing." I admitted tracing my fing

I heard my mother's voice soothed, her fingers stroking lovingly up and down my arm, just like she had when I was a child and had gotten hurt. Opening my eyes, I looked around the sea of faces and winced, seeing Kayla sitting beside me; how had Archer not noticed her presence?   Offering her an apologetic look, I felt guilt eat at my stomach as Kayla gently squeezed my hand and offered me a tight smile. It was forced! She was angry! "Do you blame her?" Archer mumbled groggily in the back of my mind; I could tell he was fragile even if his wit was intact. "You betrayed your mate bond," he mumbled, making me snort loudly, "I recall that was a joint effort; you were not exactly refusing." Silence followed my statement; apparently, he had nothing cocky to say to that.   Looking back at Kayla, I took note of her slumped shoulders, red-rimmed eyes and dishevell

  • The Alphas' Angel   CHAPTER 123 Power Play

Abigail's POV Delusional, Maxwell was utterly delusional. So wrapped up in his need for strength and control he wasn't thinking straight; he was power-hungry, and, ultimately, it would be his downfall.   Why would I lie about something like this? About cheating on my boyfriend, playing loose with my morals and risking everything I have with Damien, not to mention Jason's life if Damien ever finds out about the tryst.   "Check", Maxwell ordered; an expression passed between the delusional Alpha and Chester; the sick male stepped beside me; the smile on his face was one of pure entertainment. Grabbing my right hip in one of his giant hands, his coarse fingers groped my legs on his mission to slide my dress around my waist. Lifting my leg to kick him in the balls, I smiled with satisfaction watching him grunt and bed over. My dress fell back to hide my modesty; I had no underwear on still, and like fuck were either of these males getting a look at what lay between my legs!   "This

Maxwell's POV "How far are you wanting to take this?" Chester, the pack enforcer, asked casually. Looking at the dainty figure of the girl handing in front of me, her head lolled forward; her body relaxed with slumber; I shrugged.   "She will break easily." I muttered, hoping I was right. The metal clanking drew my attention to the table beside her, Chester had been setting up all kinds of tools to use on her, a scare tactic, and he and I knew it. He had always relished his job, and I knew he was asking out of self-preservation, not because of care for the girl; he was looking forward to extracting the information from her pretty lips by any means possible. "What about her attachment with your son?" he coaxed, looking over his shoulder at me as he palmed a well-polished double-edged blade. "I don't want this blowing back on me, given their relationship." He stated firmly.   "There will be no blowback because she won't leave this cell until I am satisfied I can control her." I n

Mia, his Luna and Jason's mother screamed after him, but I could tell by the tension in his wrist that he was no longer listening; he was beyond sense and reason. Yanking me into an office, his hand slamming against a metal panel, a loud beep indicating he had been granted admittance, the wall in front of us opened, and the distinct smell of fear and death assaulted my nostrils.   "What are you doing!" I hissed, pulling his arm to escape, dread licking at my spine.   "Getting the information I need!" He thundered, pulling me forward and down an old stone tunnel, the walls lined with uneven bricks and ageing mortar, the

Abigail's POV He looked up from my flushed body and stared into my eyes. I could sense that he wanted me, but he was determined to be in control: he was used to the woods being his domain and being the king of it! His confidence made me feel weak with desire.   "You have the most amazing cock." I breathed, "Please, fuck me with it", I begged, knowing it was what he wanted to hear; feeling his stiff cock bulging in my hand as I begged, I instantly knew he wanted me and this just as much as I did.   "Good girl." He grinned. Without warning, he pulled from my grasp, making me pout. I was about to ask why seeing him get to his knees, but my mouth fell open, peering at his cock hanging between us. Realising for the first time that he was fully dressed, minus his jeans hung a little low on his hips, whereas I was completely naked, I was truly vulnerable and at his mercy!   And shit, I loved it!   My eyes fell to his cock, taken back by its length, a good 8-9 inches, thick and so very

Jason's POV "You are playing a dangerous game, Princess."  I rasped, trailing my lips over her insanely beautiful body. All concern for Damien vanished. I wanted her touch; I craved it! I would own every inch of her!   The smug smile she wore proudly told me she was well aware of this and didn't care in the slightest. Like a moth to a flame, I couldn't help but take the challenge. With a smirk, I moved, positioning an elbow on either side of her head, hovering my body over hers, dropping my head to tease those plump lips with my tongue, swallowing the moan that escaped her parched lips with my mouth, sucking it into my mine greedily, desperately needing to dominate her.   Coaxing my tongue past her parting lips, it explored her depths, owning her mouth possessively, kissing her with a rekindled passion I thought I had lost. I did not let her up for air until I felt her fingers dig into my neck; with a lusty groan rumbling from my chest, I finally relented, releasing her lips from
