Lydia Richmond's POV

I was so shocked as I heard this from Kayla. She sounded sincere but she could be pretending. I didn't know whether to believe or disbelieve what she said.

“How do you know?” I asked her firmly. “How dare you start rumors which are untrue.”

“It is a confirmed fact, my lady,” Kayla told me slowly. “I heard this when Lady Beatrice was talking to one of her maids. From what I heard, she is the one who kidnapped your kids as well. She wants to poison your food.”

I couldn't believe this. I still had to question Kayla more to be sure that I held the fact. I wouldn't want to be fooled by her once more.

“You have to give me evidence…” I told her slowly. “There is no way I would believe you if you don't give me evidence to believe in this case.”

“But, my lady, I only saw them with my eyes and heard them with my ears. I have no other witness…” Kayla told me slowly.

I smiled. I was about to conclude that Kayla was telling a lie.
