Lewis

The day had finally arrived. We were going to drive to the Winter mist pack for two days and then leave our cars somewhere so that we could run there. After checking its location on the map, we discovered that it was behind the blue mountains, east of the dark forest.

It was hidden and if I never met Ariana, I wouldn’t have known there was such a pack. They were not part of the council either. It seems the Alpha really thought he was a king of some sort.

A week had passed since Ariana had her heat and we had spent it training her in her wolf form. She also had to spar with some of the warriors so that she could know how to handle herself in battle. I was surprised at how quick she was to learn. She was a natural at fighting. Ariana said her wolf was a warrior wolf/alpha female so she had the skills and the strength.

“Babe… do you think this is a good idea? I still think you should stay behind. I can go with your warriors.” Ariana walked up to me and looked at me worriedly.

Ariana I rushed to the restrooms after asking Lewis to buy some snacks. My bladder was killing me and yet, I had not drank a lot of fluids to prevent having many stops along the way. Walking into the toilet, an eerily sense of foreboding rushed through me and I shivered. I suddenly felt like I was being watched but when I strained my wolf senses, I couldn’t hear anything. Brushing it off as me being paranoid, I went into one of the cubicles and relieved myself. I was about to head out when my feet felt heavy and I stood stuck in one spot. My surroundings began to fade and I saw a huge mass of fog engulf me. My surroundings suddenly disappeared and panic washed over me when I realized that powerful magic was at play here. I tried to whisper a spell to block whatever was about to happen but I was too late. A powerful force suddenly sucked me in and I felt like I was falling down an endless abyss. It was dark everywhere with no form of life whatsoever. ‘Lewis.’ I called out to h

Kim Jin Woo I groaned, the pain in my limbs intensifying as I tried to move. She was calling for me. The pain in my body wouldn’t stop until I answered her call. But that’s not going to happen today. I was determined not to see her until I achieved my goal. After so many years, I had learnt how to withstand the pain that felt like I was burning from the inside out. This was my fault. I did this to myself. If I wasn’t greedy and overly ambitious, perhaps I wouldn’t be in this position. Not that I regret being in the position of power. I would do what I did all over again if it would guarantee me being an Alpha. But all the sacrifices would make fucking sense if I was actually the one who held the ultimate power. I often revel in the praises from neighboring packs when they call me the most powerful Alpha they know. But deep down, I scoff and laugh at myself mockingly. Powerful? What power? I was a fucking puppet. It was all her plan… My mate. She manipulated me from the

Lewis Rage. Anger. Fury. No words could describe the wrath aroused in me after I realized Ariana had been kidnapped. I wanted to kill someone. My wolf wanted blood. The blood of those who took our mate and replaced her with an imposter. I was going to find them and tear them apart, limb from limb. From the moment I held her in my arms and looked into her eyes, I knew that she wasn’t her. My Ariana. There’s no way I could fail to recognize my mate. It was surprising that they even thought of sending someone to replace her, thinking I wouldn’t notice. There’s only one Ariana in the world. Her scent, her touch, her body… everything about her was unique and she was embedded deep within my soul. If my body couldn’t recognize her, my heart would. I gnashed my teeth while standing outside, trying to reign in my wolf as I waited for the imposter to leave the restroom. It took my all to stop myself from shifting and going on a rampage. Taking my phone out of my pocket, I dialed Aria

Ariana When I was dragged to the dungeon, I wrinkled my nose at the bad smell and state it was in. The place smelled like someone had died and was left there to rot. It seemed they didn’t even bother to clean and maintain it just because it was meant to imprison people. I groaned as I was suddenly thrown into a cell a little roughly and landed on my butt. “You better start talking before they torture you real bad. The Alpha can be ruthless.” The delta who had brought me here said, averting my gaze. He looked like he was being forced to do this. But why did these people just sit around and not do anything when they are being abused? Don’t werewolves have rights or something? “The torture will be futile. I answer to no one.” I said and I saw his eyes flash. “You have no choice. It’s do or die. You don’t want your loved ones to die because of your disobedience, trust me, I’ve been there.” The man in front of me suddenly dropped his eyes and looked sad, spiking my curiosity. Did h

Lewis The imposter widened her eyes, staring at me in shock. She wasn’t expecting me to break out of her spell. “H-how?” I smirked, plunging my hand further into her chest, gripping her heart tightly. “No force in this world can make me cheat on my mate. Besides, you forgot one detail. Ariana and I are marked so I would get some of her abilities and could break out of your spell with ease.” “Please… please… don’t kill me..” Blood spurted from her mouth as she changed to her real face. I was right. She was indeed Keisha. “Why did you do this? Where’s my mate?” “It’s too late for her. She must have submitted to the Alpha already by now. All I wanted was to be mated to a beta who can help me escape that horror of a pack. Please… spare me.” She choked out, her hand gripping my arm tightly. “I’m sorry.” ‘Kill her.’ Wesley hissed in my head and I sighed. She was just a victim in all this. Everyone deserved a second chance until they proved unrepentant like Kim Jin Woo. Unraveling

Lewis “Listen up everybody!” I called the attention of all the warriors who were getting ready to shift into their wolves and they all turned to look at me. “We don’t know what we will find once we enter the Winter mist pack. Some of us may even end up losing our lives there. I just want to take this opportunity to thank all of you in advance for volunteering to help. It’s not an easy task to leave your mates and go on a mission that’s not clearly known. And for that, I say thank you for being brave.” I said out loud, walking back and forth in front of them. I took a moment to look at the several men and women who might end up losing their lives and I felt guilt rise within me. I wish there was a way to stop them from getting hurt in case a fight broke out. “We are happy to help you and your mate, Beta.” One of them said as the rest began to murmur the same. I lowered my gaze, staring at my feet. No amount of words could express how grateful I was. Looking up, I smiled a littl

James “Fuck, cupcake.” I grunted, biting Zoe’s earlobe as I pounded into her from behind. Having a pregnant mate was the real deal. She was horny all the time and guess who was always having a good time? Me. “Jay!” She screamed as I hit a spot. We were standing against the wall with her palms supporting her weight while I fucked her hard and fast just the way she liked it when in this position. I reached my hand forward and squeezed her swollen breast, twisting her nipple. A low groan escaped my lips when she whimpered. Fuck. I had come to love the way she looked when pregnant. Her breasts had become impossibly large and very sensitive to my touch. “Fuck… yes Jay. Harder.” She moaned, throwing her head back onto my shoulder. My other hand reached down and began to make circling movements on her clit as she shuddered in my arms. “Oh Goddess!” “You like that cupcake?” I whispered in her ear but she just kept moaning wantonly. “Answer me.” My voice was low as I twisted her

Ariana I refused to believe it but Lewis was gone. Vanished from this world. Forever. Not even a body was left for me to take back to his pack and give him a befitting burial. My heart was throbbing painfully. It was suffocating. Was this really the end? Reality hit me like a painful stab to the stomach. How did I not see this coming? I was supposed to be the one gifted with the sight of the future. But it was useless… I couldn’t save my mate from his unfair demise. It was my fault. The empty hollow in my heart was a painful reminder of the fact that the other half of my soul had been brutally ripped out. But why did I feel like all my soul had been torn away from me? I clutched my chest where my heart should be, crouching down as a gnawing pain hit my heart repeatedly. Goddess please… tell me this is a nightmare. My mind was awash with thoughts. THREE YEARS LATER Lewis It was funny how time flies. One minute you’re a child and the next, you’re an adult who’s responsible for yourself and other people. In my case, I was a mate, a beta and a brother and a soon-to-be father. That’s right, Ariana and I had our wedding 4 months ago and now she was carrying our pup. A boy. She was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen and on that day, when she said I do, it was one of the best days of my life that I’ll cherish forever. The last three years have been nothing but blissful. Life was great. We would have problems here and there but nothing that was not solvable. After all, this is real life and not everything can be perfect. Alpha James and Zoe left on a honeymoon tour a month ago and left their pups in our care. They were living with us at our mini-mansion that I built for Ariana and I and boy, they were a handful. We had a nanny for all four of them. Matteo, Alpha James’ baby brother thought he was his brother’s son

Ariana I’ve been living in the blackmist pack for three months now and I can attest that it’s much better than the human town. I liked it here. At first, when I learnt that werewolves exist I thought they would be primitive and living like cavemen but they surprised me by being more modern than ordinary humans. The pack was designed like a small town. It had shopping malls, residential homes and a large packhouse where the majority of the wolves stayed. Mostly unmated ones stayed there. Despite the modern setup, the flora and fauna were not tampered with. We were still surrounded by a big forest. On full moon nights, we would go for pack runs which were led by the Alpha and Luna. And then most times, I would go on a love run with Lewis, my mate who had been nothing but lovely ever since I settled here. The only thing I missed from the human town was my aunt Judy. “Can you get me another dress? Where’s the red one I chose earlier? I look good in red.” Zoe asked one of the o

Lewis I ditched the car and ran to the orphanage since it would be faster that way. The Alpha had already begun running back to the pack after I called him to tell him his Luna had gone into labor. Taking off my clothes, I shifted and carried them in my mouth then I began to run as fast as I could. From the way Ariana kept poking into my mind every second, I knew she was freaking out. ‘Dr. Anthony prepare the Luna’s VIP ward she’s in labor.’ I mind-linked the doctor at the pack’s hospital. ‘What? That’s too soon. I’ll work on it right away.’ I continued to rush forward with Wesley in the lead. Being a beta wolf, he wanted to protect his Alpha’s pups. ‘Lewis! Hurry! I can see a head… oh my God! I don’t know what to do!’ Ariana’s shriek echoed in my head. ‘Calm down baby… You will scare Zoe. Take a few deep breaths and guide her… tell her to push as hard as she can. If the baby stays like that it will suffocate.’ ‘But I’ve never done this before.’ She responded, sounding sc

Lewis I felt like I was in paradise. At the break of dawn, I opened my eyes and found Ariana sleeping peacefully in my arms with a smile on her face. We were happy. And I hoped it remained so for the rest of our lives. I stroked her curly hair and leaned down, placing a kiss on her forehead. Ariana stirred, scrunching her eyebrows then inched closer to me, burying her face deeper into my chest. Having her back made me whole once again. I wouldn’t have survived without her and to think she had watched me die and had to experience the agony of the bond breaking filled me with intense guilt. That was not something I wanted her to go through. Ever. She had even gone as far as stabbing her heart to perform a dangerous spell to save me. That was the extent of her love for me. I could see it. I could feel it. A love so pure and true. What more can I ask for? I loved her just as much as she loved me and with each passing day that we are together, our bond grows stronger. Ariana I stared into Lewis’ eyes to check if he was telling the truth. Not that I didn’t believe him. It’s just that with our current situation, even I could come up with any reason that could help us be able to be together. He had just told me about how my mother and his father were childhood friends and that day, he was actually going to save her due to her call for help but unfortunately, he arrived late. “I have proof, baby… I can’t lie to you. You know that.” Lewis said with a pained expression. I cupped his face with my palms and pecked his lips. “I believe you. Even if you made something up I would always believe you.” I said and I meant it. “But I didn’t make it up my love. My father has recordings that you can listen to. I have them on my phone.” He said and took out his phone before I could stop him. We were seated on a two-seater couch in the small sitting room in the cabin after two more rounds of banging each other. I listened to the recording and when I heard

Lewis “Alpha, I’m leaving. I’ll only come back when I find my mate.” Alpha James raised his brow. “Are you sure? You’re going on a wild goose chase man. She could be anywhere.” Anger surged within me and I growled. “Are you saying I should give up on my mate? No way man… she’s mine and I’ll find her.” “How? By running around aimlessly like a headless chicken? Do you even have a clue where she is? If she doesn’t want to be found, do you think you can find her that easily?” I curled my hand, clenching it into a fist. He was right. I couldn’t just go searching without having a clue about Ariana’s whereabouts but what other choice do I have? Wait for her to calm down and come back on her own? What if she never comes back? What then? Being without her would kill me and my wolf. “I have to find her.” I said in a low voice, sounding defeated. “Come on man. We are wolves. We work smart, not harder. What’s the fastest way of finding someone in our supernatural world without using

Ariana I steeled my heart and chanted the teleporting spell while avoiding making eye contact with Lewis. I just couldn’t bring myself to look into his eyes. If I did, I was afraid I would decide to stay with him. But that was out of the question. Not after what I had found out. I had to leave for my parent's sake. I wouldn’t be able to face them knowing I had stayed with the people who took their life. Lewis just stood there, staring at me. And from my peripheral vision, I could see he was crying. My chest constricted seeing him like that. It hurt more that I had to leave him this way. I was punishing him for his father’s mistakes. It didn’t take long for the spell to take effect. As I was slowly getting sucked in, I snuck a look at Lewis. I wanted to see his enchanting face for one last time. I wanted to have it embedded in my mind forever. But the look of despair on his face crushed my heart. Now I would be stuck with his sad expression for the rest of my life. I shouldn’

Lewis I don’t know how long I had been staring at the spot where Ariana had vanished. My heart just couldn’t accept the fact that she was gone. She had left and this time I’m afraid, it’s forever. With the bad blood between us, there’s no way we could be together. For most of my life, I had never regretted any choices I made. Bad or good. Because I believed if you’re hesitant about something, you would still end up regretting whatever decision you make in the end. You would always ask yourself. What if? Could things have been different? I never wanted this type of uncertainty in my life so I was always decisive. But now, looking back, I deeply regretted bringing my mate to the pack. Perhaps I should have stayed with Ariana in the human town. I would be a CEO and she would do the work she loved. We would go back home together after a busy day at work, cook together, make love and do the same the next day just like normal people do. Most times people take advantage of thi
