When the morning sun started to move through the forest, we continued our journey. We knew we had to go to one of the human towns to get something to eat. I knew it would take us another five hours to arrive there, otherwise we would have stayed in a motel.

I didn’t know where Ripley was, but Ares and Carson didn’t want to wait for him.

“He will be fine, he will find us,” Carson said, trying to ease my worries.

The entire walk I kept looking around, hoping I would see him. He wouldn’t just leave me, right?

The sounds of children playing in the distance snapped me out of my search.

“We’re here,” Ares said and took my hand, leading me out of the forest.

My stomach started to growl when I saw a family having a picnic in the distance. My hand moved to my small baby bump while a smile formed on my lips, knowing we would have our family soon.

Ares and Carson didn’t waste another second and searched for a diner. I almost tripped over my own feet when I tried to keep up with their big

Ares and Carson were both busy building our home. To make sure everything was flawless. I was working behind the packhouse, trying to create some flower beds when I notice Grayson walking up to me. “Luna, the Alphas request your presence,” Grayson’s said. I narrowed my eyes at him with a small smile on my lips. “I’m not a Luna, Grayson.” He scratched the back of his neck and diverted his gaze. “For me you are,” he mumbled under his breath before leading the way. I didn’t respond but followed after him. I knew this moment would come, I only hoped it would take a little longer. I know it’s better than the omega status I had, but I would be fine if it was just the four of us. Yes, I’m not forgetting about Ripley. We have been here for weeks now and I don’t know why but the pack is expanding. I actually hoped we could leave the pack life behind. However, it seemed to be impossible. It started with us four and the remaining survivors of Smith’s attack. But that we weren’t the only wo

My life felt complete by having Sarah back. I told her everything that had happened over the last weeks while she told me about her life with Matina. I was surprised to hear that she had nothing bad to say about their time together. I couldn’t believe it actually. Maybe she is trying to change? “You should talk to her, she had her reasons.” Liza tried to convince me, as she had tried a couple of times before. “I will,” I mumbled while I caressed my belly. That seemed to get bigger by the day. “When do you have your next ultrasound?” “Don’t know,” I shrugged. We all agreed that we didn’t want to know what the sex of the pups were. I knew it would only be a couple more months before they were here. I can't wait to meet them. Thankfully, a werewolf pregnancy was a lot shorter than for humans. Before Liza answered, we noticed Ripley and Juniper walking our way. “He is cute,” Liza whispered, making a small laugh escape my lips. Even though she whispered, Ripley probably heard

It had been a couple of days since Ares had sent an invitation to Douglas to join us, celebrating our new home and talking business with him. I didn’t know what kind of business, but I think Ares would figure something out. I told them everything, and even though there wasn’t much to tell, I did try to explain the weird feeling she gave me. And with everything that happened, they didn’t hesitate to agree with my plan. I was walking around the pack grounds, enjoying the feeling of freedom. I hadn’t gotten a guard assigned to me and I was grateful Ares and Carson kept their end of the deal. I was so much in my own bubble that I hadn’t even released Ripley walking beside me. “What are you up to, Luna,” he said. I almost jumped out of my own skin when I heard his voice. “Damn, Ripley, could you not scare the shit out of me?” “Maybe you scare easily because you are up to something.” He narrowed his eyes at me, but I still noticed the mischief in his eyes. “I may or may not have

Jamie POV After I slowly woke up, I noticed Carson watching me with a small smile on his lips. He held his finger to his lips while his eyes moved to Ares. Only then did I notice the soft snores coming from behind me. “Douglas is coming,” he whispered. I felt relief move through me but soon I felt the heartbreak again. Carson placed his hand under my chin and gently lifted my chin up, making sure I would meet his eyes again. “Why didn’t you let him finish? He chooses to stay with you, he only knew after he met Celine when we were at the cottage. You’re making yourself crazy.” I narrowed my eyes at him. “Crazy? You think it’s a good idea to call a pregnant she-wolf crazy,” I hissed. He quickly shook his head and I could hear Ares move behind me. “Ssttt, go back to sleep,” Ares mumbled under his breath while he tightened his arms around me. Before I closed my eyes again, I saw Carson’s eyes glaze over for a moment. “Don’t talk about me through the mind link,” I mumbled before

It was only minutes before Douglas would arrive. My heart was almost beating out of my chest. I hated that I was nervous about this. But I knew if he didn’t know Juniper, she was tricking Ripley. Or there was another reason why she was lying about where she came from. However, if she was telling the truth and Douglas can assure us there is nothing wrong with her. That would mean we are truly safe, right? I knew there was a chance that she was part of Douglas' pack but that he didn’t truly know her. Let’s hope he has the answers we seek. Ripley knew what the plan was. Ares, Carson, and I would welcome Douglas and show him around and when we are enjoying dinner, Ripley would show up with Juniper. I knew he was feeling torn. The mate bond was calling for him and it would be only a matter of time before Juniper would go into heat because they hadn’t sealed the bond yet. I hated that we had come to this, that we couldn't trust her. Because we know now that the mate bond could be fa

We were all sitting in the dining hall, enjoying our dinner while Ares and Douglas were engaged in some small talk. “How does it feel to go from king of the wolves to Alpha of some rogue pack?” Douglas asked. Silence filled the room for a moment and confusion moved through me. Are we really a rogue pack now? “You do know if you don’t pledge your loyalty to the new Queen, you will be seen as a rogue pack,” Douglas shrugged. I never thought about it like that. However, I didn’t think we would want to be part of the kingdom again. We want to be free and don’t get sucked into the kingdom’s politics. “It is better this way. And besides, we are too far away anyway. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted us to join them. That would be something I would have done. To eventually overthrow the rogue packs,” Ares said. Douglas's demeanor suddenly changed and he narrowed his eyes at Ares. “You know I will never be part of the kingdom,” Douglas hissed. A small laugh resonated fr

“Come on sleepyhead,” Carson's voice was not much louder than a whisper. His voice was soothing even, only the nudges he gave my shoulder made me want to bite his fingers off. My chest started to vibrate when a growl formed. “Leave me alone,” I mumbled in annoyance. I could hear him sigh before he gently pressed his lips on my forehead. I could hear by the sound of his footsteps that he was leaving the bedroom. I relaxed and snuggled under the blankets. I thought I deserved some sleeping in. However, it seemed the pups had a different idea. They started to move like crazy, kicking my bladder until I had no choice but to get up. My eyes snapped open and I growled in frustration. It was no use going back to bed. Soon my stomach started to grumble. I sighed and got myself ready to head downstairs. The sweet scent of freshly baked bread started to surround me and my stomach only grumbled harder. “Look who decided to come downstairs and join us,” Carson said teasingly. I narr

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 72

Ripley POVWhat was she talking about? I would have known if Juniper was out here. After we left the dining hall yesterday. Juniper broke down. I had never seen her cry before and it broke my heart. I knew I hadn't stopped Jamie from pulling this stunt, but now I regretted it. Why was it so difficult for me to trust my mate? Don’t I have faith in the moon goddess? She wouldn’t set me up with someone that doesn’t deserve to be trusted. However, my mind wouldn’t let me forget what happened to Jamie. Ever since I met Juniper, I have kept my distance, even though the mate bond was pulling me closer and closer. I started second-guessing myself. Why was I putting Jamie above my mate? Maybe I should be grateful for what happened last night, otherwise, Juniper wouldn’t have opened up to me as she did. She always had this mask on, and now she had finally shown me her true self. There was only one comment that kept nagging me. “Why do you let Jamie come between us? Do you have feelings fo

Jamie POV Years had passed in the blink of an eye, and I was happier than ever. All the struggles we went through, were worth it in the end. I was immensely grateful, that Ares choose this life with us, instead of power. That he choose this mortal life, instead of moving back to the god's lands. “Not so fast, you two,” I yelled after Kaitlin and Nathanial, who seemed to be ignoring me while they increased their pace. I softly caressed my bump, enjoying the sight of my rascals. How could you love someone so much that it almost hurts, was more than I could ever wish for. “Happy birthday, love,” Ares whispered, wrapping his arms around me and resting his head on my shoulder, inhaling deeply. “Have I told you how much I love you?” He asked while his lips brushed over his mark, making a pleasurable shiver move through my body, awakening my core. “Hmm, maybe you should remind me,” I murmured. “Knock it off, you two,” Ripley’s voice snapped us out of our moment, and I couldn’t h

With hollowed cheeks, I let Carson gently trust inside my mouth. His pace was slow and deep, making my sexual frustration rise. I glanced up, and I almost came when I saw Caron’s parted lips and flushed cheeks. Fuck, he looks so delicious. I tried to pick up my pace, but the hold he had on me, made it impossible. There was no way I could hold back the orgasm that was crawling at the surface. I whimpered and moaned around Carson’s cock when Ares picked up his pace, attaching my sensitive clit until my body shattered, and my juices spilled out. I was a mess, riding the aftershocks of my orgasm, when Carson’s pulled himself out of me and gently brushed his thumb over my lips. “Perfect,” he said. I took a couple of deep breaths, trying to calm my body, but the moment of peace was quickly stopped when Ares claimed my lips, making sure I would taste myself on his tongue. Our position changed, without parting our lips. He lifted me in his arms, and I instantly wrapped my legs around his

Ares POV The moment Carson stepped inside, his eyes slowly wandered over my naked body. “Is this your plan? How is this going…” he stopped midsentence when he realized what the plan was. “How didn’t I come up with that sooner,” he mumbled more to himself than me. “Do you need help getting undressed?” I asked, pulling him back to the present. A small blush formed on his cheeks while he tauntingly slow started to remove his clothes. “We have to make sure she feels it right?” he asked with a hint of mischief in his eyes. Of course, this wasn’t going to be quick. I knew they were at it for hours to make sure I felt it when I wanted to kill Aegon. I groaned when he stood before me, naked. Who would have thought I would fall in love with another man? I closed the distance between us and brushed my fingers over his throat, while this need to choke him while fucking him senseless came into mind. My cock twitched because of the thought. I licked my lips before I pressed them on his

Ares POV “How much longer?” I roared for the millionth time. It has been two agonizing weeks. Jamie still hadn’t woken up, and the longer she stayed like this, the more I worried she would never wake up. “Alpha, I don’t know. The poison has left her system, and her wolf is fine. I don’t know why she won’t wake up,” her voice trembled with every word she spoke. “Isn’t there anything I can do?” I was desperate. This feeling was almost worse than the feeling I had when her soul was trapped in that world Hephaestus created. “You can try to reach her through the bond by pushing heightened emotions through it. Terrible fear, rage. As long as the emotion is strong enough, it could wake her up,” Matina said with care. I slowly nodded, and she left without another word. We hadn’t closed off our bond to Jamie, so she must feel our despair and fear. And seeing she wasn’t waking up, it wasn’t enough. “I know,” Gideon said, sounding smug. “Care to share?” There was a moment of silence whi

Carson POV I could feel myself becoming stronger with every passing second, but the pain remained. I knew it wasn’t my own that I felt. It was Jamie’s. My heart ached for her. All I wanted was to hold her in my arms. However, she only had eyes for our pups, and I can’t blame her. They looked so peaceful in her arms. As if nothing had happened. I softly brushed my finger over Nathaniel's cheek, letting the warmth of his skin seep into mine. “Do you want to hold him,” Jamie whispered. She didn’t have to say that twice. I picked up Nathaniel and let him rest against my chest. I hated that I was covered in blood, my own and Aegon’s. “Are you tired?” I asked Jamie when I noticed her eyes slowly closing. She only hummed in response before she fell asleep. I could feel her becoming weaker. The feeling alone made a tear stream down my face. Ares gently grabbed Kaitlin before he let Jamie rest against him. “We’re going to make it,” he whispered, but the fear in his eyes. The worry behi

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 87

Ares POV My breath hitched in the back of my throat when I saw what Jamie was about to do. I didn’t want her to drown in the darkness. She shouldn’t be the one that takes their lives. Aegon wasn’t strong enough to help Charlotte fight the command. He didn’t even respond to Jamie’s truthful words. He knew they made a mistake going down this path. A mistake that would cost both of their lives. “Jamie, let me do it,” I whispered when I stood beside her with our pups in my arms. “No, I made a promise, and I’m keeping myself to that,” she hissed while her eyes remained locked on Charlotte and Aegon. I didn’t know what she commanded next, but the change in the air told me enough. My eyes snapped to Charlotte, and before either of us knew what was about to happen, her claws formed on her free hand, and she pushed her claws through Aegon’s chest. Aegon cried out in agony while a stray tear moved down Charlotte’s cheek. Aegon had to release his grip on the hand she still had on her throa

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 86

Jamie POV Rage. All-consuming rage. My blood was boiling while my skin tightened. How dare she? It all happened in the blink of an eye; I was thrown against Carson while I felt something puncture my side. I coughed rapidly to get the air I desperately needed. The scent of my own blood surrounded me, and I knew I was injured. But I had to push forward. I pushed myself off Carson and let the same pull as before lead me to my pups. There was no escaping me at this point, and I would have back what was mine. I sprinted out of the room and headed into the forest. Before I even realized Ripley’s wolf running beside me. Ares and Carson’s concerned voices filled my mind, but still, I wouldn’t slow down my strides. “I need you to take out the witch. Otherwise, I can’t command Charlotte,” I told Ripley. Ripley lunged for Tara when Charlotte was about to step inside a car. Ares and Carson stood next to me before another breath could leave my lips. Tara screamed at the top of her lungs w

  • The Alpha's redemption   Chapter 85

Ares POV The turmoil in my mind slowly settled when all I could feel was rage and this primal need to protect what is mine. We were hiding in the shadows outside of Charlotte's packhouse, waiting for her warriors to leave. Still, we would be outnumbered, but our odds were better with fifty of her warriors gone. “They are here,” Jamie mumbled. Only when my gaze met hers did I notice the glimmer that moved over her eyes. It wasn't the same as I saw her wolf press forward, but something else. I took her hand in mine and gave it a reassuring squeeze. One that we both needed. The soft rustling around us made me freeze on the spot until Carson’s scent wafted around me. “We can use the tunnel. It’s unguarded. It doesn’t seem she knows we were coming here,” Carson whispered. No one spoke another word when we turned around and let Carson lead us to the underground tunnel. The same we used when we ran away from Hephaestus We still had to choose which of Charlotte’s pack houses we shoul

Ares POVIt took us longer than I wanted, but the moment we stepped over the border, Jamie’s voice echoed inside my mind.“Did you find them?”I wanted to tell her that we did, but we only had a lead. “We are going to Litochoro.”Carson was in charge of gathering the warriors while I made my way to the packhouse. I was in desperate need of holding my mate in my arms and when I heard her voice inside my mind seconds ago, I knew she needed me too.I quickly shifted back and rushed inside. When my gaze met hers, a small smile formed on her lips. After I put some clothes on, I made my way to her and wrapped my arms around her small frame.“Are you okay?” I whispered while I held her close.“The poison is… I had some trouble with my sight, but now that you’re here, I’m fine,” she said with a small smile that did nothing for the pain that roamed through her eyes.I didn’t know what to say, but I’m glad that my presence helps her wolf fight the poison.“We are leaving in fifteen minutes.
