Flashback!

Flashback continued:

Shadow’s POV:

        “Hawk, what the hell man?  Didn’t I tell you to keep that bitch out of the pack house. She is to remain in the house near the borders.” Ji’lahni sneered as a crossbow appeared in her hand. “I’m sorry Luna we were taking a walk, she said she smelled her mate and took off this way.”  He said, looking innocent. I unwrapped her  from around me and stepped away. I saw the anger then hurt cross her face. She turned to face the Luna. “I really don’t understand why I must remain locked away, when the doc has cleared me and says that I am no longer a danger to anyone. Whatever the witch was injecting into me, is no longer in my system. We don’t live by your human laws; everyone understands how the supernatural world is and agree that I should not still be held like a prisoner in my own pack.” Scarlett said, facing the girls with her head held high.

      “Bitch, I don’t give a shit about nothing you just said, the only reason why I haven’t put a bullet in your head is because of Shadow. We need him to help find my pregnant cousin and our boys. But I promise you, once we find her, you better prey, I don’t see your face walking around like you did nothing wrong. I don’t give a shit about no injections or any of that other bullshit you talking about. You kidnapped my babies, brought a witch into this pack, which almost got momma Teri and my babies killed. Everyone else can forgive and forget the shit you’ve done, but that doesn’t fly with me or my family, I don’t a fuck about me being human. I could be a T rex, a shark, or a fucking Pokemon, bitch I will never trust you, hell I didn’t trust your ass the first time you rose from the dead. Even when you were trying to play the innocent scared zombie vampire bitch. I would be stupid to trust you at any time much less this time. Do I look like boo, boo, the fool to you? I’m not. Now get the fuck out, before I cancel your ass and I put that on every letter in the fucking alphabet.” The Luna said, as she and Lynn approached Scarlett, with their guns raised. The Luna was breathing hard trying to hold in her pain, and anger after reciting everything that she and her cousins have been through.

       Scarlett immediately hid behind me. I really didn’t care about any of this. I needed to find Shawna and wasting time arguing isn’t helping. I looked over at Ji’lahni, who was waiting for Scarlett to make the wrong move. I approached the alpha. “I want to leave as soon as possible if that can be arranged.”  I asked the alpha and he nodded. “Meet me in my office so we can debrief once you have showered and rest, we will go over the map so we can get an idea of where we will search. The witches are working to find the rift again to search for Mina and Blaze.”  He said, as he pulled Ji’lahni into his arm. I frowned, Looking at him strangely. “Oh! You are unaware of what happened once we made it to the entrance. I will fill you in on everything once you return to my office. Please take your mate back to the house.” He said and I nodded, turning to Scarlett waiting for her to walk out ahead of me, “Hey wait up Shadow.” I heard Hawk yelled, once we were out of the pack house.

        “Go ahead and go back to the house I will be there shortly.” I said and Scarlett nodded nervously kissing my lips before leaving quickly. “I wanted to talk to you about your mate. I am happy to watch her for you while you look for Shawna but what will you do with her after you find Shawna, you know you won’t be able to bring her back here if Scarlett is still here.”  Hawk said, pointing out the obvious. I knew that but I haven’t gotten that far yet. “I don’t know, I don’t want to just abandon Scarlett.  She saved my life once she got her memories back. But I know that she and Shawna can’t live in the same place either.” I said sighing in frustration. “What are you talking about? Scarlett didn’t save you.” Hawk said looking at me in confusion.

          “What do you mean, she gave me her blood.” I said looking at him like he had lost his mind. “Yea she did give you her blood, but your body rejected the blood. The doc thinks it’s because she is a vampire/wolf. You actually die after throwing up Scarlett’s blood. It was Shawna who actually saved you. Once you died, she was so devastated that she let our this ear piercing screamed that so loud that all the crossbred animals started bleeding out of their ears, then just died. She even had the vampires on the ground, she had us holding our ears and shifting back into our human form. The all of a sudden she released some kind of purple fire, that she used to close your wounds and restart your heart. But once you woke up you called out for Scarlett’s name and not hers. I think that truly broke her heart. I tried to explain to her that you were just out of it, but she wasn’t listening and that’s when the black dragon grabbed her. There was nothing we could do so me and Scarlett just got you out of there.”  Hearing hawk’s version of events knocked the air out of my lungs. “Shawna is the one who saved me, now she is out there thinking that I choose Scarlett and not her and my pups.” I said more to myself than to Hawk. I needed to find Shawna and make this right.

End of Flashback:

      "Shadow, some of the women here have been telling me of the things that happened during the time I was gone. They also told me how you started sleeping with that human woman. That you were only sleeping with her as a distraction from the pain of losing me. When you didn’t go rogue or die that should have told you something. Why didn’t you look for me?” Scarlett asked as she cried. I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. I didn’t feel like walking down that path because I didn’t have time. I needed to get back out there to search for Shawna,

          “I saw you die I felt the mates bond snapped. I did question it when I didn’t go rogue or died . I even went to the doc, even though he couldn’t explain it either. I was a shell of myself for years. Until I met Shawna, I first I didn’t want anything to do with her, but she was determined, she brought me back to myself. She was never a distraction.” I said in all honesty. “Are you going to reject me? Do you not love me anymore?”  she asked as tears flowed down her face it tore me up to see her hurt, but I wouldn’t lie to her. “I honestly haven’t thought about anything beyond getting Shawna back home safe and making sure my boys are born safely. I will always care about you Scarlett.”  I said, turning back to finish packing my bags. “Well why don’t you stay so we can rekindle our love. They already have half the pack searching for her. I’m sure they can handle things without you. When she gets back, we can have a meeting with her to talk about what’s best for the boys. I have never takin care of babies before.  I’m sure I can learn from one of the she-wolves here, who could teach me everything I need to know. It’s not an ideal situation, but I’m confidant that she would understand that we only want what’s best for the boys.  I have always  dreamt of us having pups of our own. But maybe the Moon goddess did this to bring us closer once I came back to you.” she said, pacing excitedly.

          I stepped in front of her to gain her attention. “Scarlett, I understand all this is confusing to you. But never say or imply that we will somehow be raising me and Shawna’s boys together. Although you weren’t in control of your thoughts and body you still did some horrible things which I am working through. But there is no way that Shawna or her family will ever let you anywhere near my boys, and I can’t say that I blame them.” I said, turning back to the bags. “Shadow how is that fair to me. I have just as much right to be a part of their lives as she does, I’m your mate not her. I’m trying really hard to get back to normal but how can I do that if everyone keeps throwing my past in my face, and now you are saying I won’t even be able to be part of your children’s lives. So, am I supposed to sit back and watch you and her act like a happy little family? I won’t be able to do that Shadow we are mates it would kill me seeing you and her act like a happy family.”  Scarlett said in anger now, her eyes were changing to their vampire red further reminding me of how much she has change. “Look we will talk when I get back. I don’t have time to deal with this now. The more time we waste the more chances that Shawna could go into labor out there alone with me or her family’s support.” I said walking past her and out the door.

Mina’s POV:

     Me and Onyx, have been running for what seems like forever before we find another cave. We had manage to find water that didn’t look like colorful milk. I refused to put that shit in my body, because I don’t need for my body to start glowing on top of everything else we got going on. Nope, no thank you, I’m good on that. Once we found some actual water which I planned to boil the fuck out of. We found leaves and tree branches that we used to start a fire and made a bed that was better than sleeping on a fucking rock. I also took the time to get my ass in the water and wash the best I could, with just water. I just needed to get my ass in that water, to feel somewhat clean, we all know you need more than just water.  I needed a washcloth and some soap on this body, but I had to do what I had to do.

        Blaze had been really quiet since I woke up, which was really starting to irritate me.  I don’t know why he walking around acting like he’s mad at me, I hope it’s not because he was stuck here with her. After he cleaned the meat, I cooked it without seasoning. Yea, yall already know I made a stink face every time I looked at the unseasoned meat. Once we were eating, I finally got fed up with his foolery. “Ok, what the fuck is your problem with me? Because you getting on my fucking nerves with this silent bob bullshit you got going on.” I asked angrily.
