I walked into the dark room my chest thumping against my skin.
“Pack your things, you have leaving today.” Madam Claudia spoke. “What?” I gasped. The man in the chair had his back to me but I cold feel the cold aura the was coming from him. I’ve been bought? “Don’t let me repeat myself Astrid, pack your things.” Madam Claudia answered. “Ye…yes ma’m.” I stuttered turning my back to them and walking out of the room. I got across the hall without much hassle from Renee and her friends but my happiness was short lived. I pushed open the bar door to the room, and entered. The bar doors were remade last moon when one of the girls was caught bent over by a guard in her room while her roommates stood outside waiting. I had never seen madam Claudia as angry as she was that day. She roared and turned to her wolf form, slashing the man from behind. His dead body dropped on the girl, blood and skin splattered everywhere. Well that was a warning to all of us. And we never heard of the girl again as she was dragged out naked from the room. Nobody dared to asked what her fate was with madam Claudia. “What was that about?” Renee asked, immediately I stepped into the room. “What?” I asked, avoiding her eyes. “Don’t act dumb with me bitch, why were you called to the dark room?” Renee sneered. “I’m leaving today…….” I whispered, looking down at my shoes. “What!?” She screamed. “You got selected?” One of her friends asked wide eyed. I nodded. “By who?” The girl asked again. “I….don’t know.” I said, still looking at my shoes. My big toe stuck out from my left boot. The shoe was old and worn out. “What the hell do you mean by that? Renee asked, finally getting her tongue. “I don’t know…… madam Claudia just asked me to pack my bags and that’s all the information I got.” “Could it be Alpha Kael?” The girl who had spoken earlier, asked. My eyes widened at the new information. He was the one seated in the office when I entered, every other alpha’s and Beta’s were long gone. Renee snorted, “and why would he pick her?” “Why else will she be called to the dark room while he was there with madam Claudia?” They argued. The possibility of me leaving here was far fetched but me leaving here with Alpha Kael was a more disturbing news. “Um……please I need to start packing, madam Claudia will be here anytime soon.” I said raising my voice above their arguments. They quieted down instantly, snapping their heads up me. One of the girls sneered. “The goddess really loves you today bitch,” Renee snorted pushing me to the ground. I hit my ass the hard floor, I whimpered. “They got the garbage out of my way.” She spat. They four of them walked over me and out of the room. Tears threatened to fall for my eyes but I held it in, if I was leaving this place my new home may be worse than this and nobody would give a damn about my tears. I stood up from the floor, dusting the dirt away from my skirt. I walked up to my corner of the room, I looked around. The room was empty, the little traces of Aria and Ruby were gone, Renee’s dresses were scattered across her bed, making it look disorganized. I sighed, at least I wasn’t going to spend the night alone without them here. I folded my clothes into a small box, went to the bathroom picked up my towel and toothbrush. The little dresser that we all used stood at the corner of the room, I opened my side of the box, I picked out my chain necklace that I’ve had since I knew myself. It has a little sapphire pendant and the only thing of value I ever had. I was lucky enough that Renee never got to see it, it would have belonged to her now. I sighed, my eyes caught a glint of Aria’s brush, it was a sliver brush, with stones that rounded the edges, behind it was here initials “AD” written in a very sophisticated handwriting. Never really got to ask her what the “D” in her name was. I placed it in my bag, putting the necklace around my neck and wrapping my shawl over my neck and shoulders. With one last look around the room that has house me for months, I took in a deep breath and walked out. A carriage was already packed outside, madam Claudia stood alongside Kael, they were talking about something so I stood silently behind them waiting for them to finish. “Astrid, come forward,” madam Claudia called after she saw me. I walked up to them. “This is Alpha Kael your new owner, try to behave right.” She said, introducing me to the man. I didn’t dare to look up at him, we were never allowed to look at any Alpha’s in their face it was considered disrespectful. I nodded. “Be good,” madam Claudia tapped my back, giving me a tight smile, that was the only form of care she had shown towards me after her one of her dogs tried raping me. I walked up to the carriage lifting myself into it, I gripped my box tightly. The man finally finished talking and came around the carriage and entered. I could hear the whispers of the girls as the poked their heads out of the broken window glasses and watched as the carriage began to move. I shifted to the far end of the carriage, occupying as little space as I could. The man sat across from me his eyes, steadily burning holes in my back. “You may need to rest, we have a long journey ahead of us.” He grunted. His voice was thick, laced with annoyance like he was running a silly errand for someone. I didn’t expect him to be happy and bubbly but I just had a tiny bit of hope at the back of my mind that I might end up with someone nice. Well that tiny light just went off. I nodded, relaxing more into the chair, it was soft and comfortable. The interior of the carriage screamed wealth and power, it was designed with red and gold. I slowly lifted my face, stealing a glance at the man that sat across from me, his head was laid back and his eyes were closed. I couldn’t tell if he was sleeping or not but I enjoyed the silence, this might be the last time I ever experienced peace like this. I sighed looking out the window, the city was gradually disappearing behind us. I could have sworn that I saw wolves running in the woods along side our carriage but the trees were too thick and dark to see through, so maybe it was my brain playing tricks on me. My stomach rumbled, I clutched my stomach wincing. “We need to get you fed and properly dressed before we reach.” He spoke, making me jump. I turned and looked at him, his eyes were still closed. “I’m not really hungry.” I said, just as my stomach betrayed me and rumbled again. He scoffed in response. I turned away from him embarrassed, looking back out the window. The carriage was a real luxury but we both knew that he could outrun the horses in his wolf form and I was sure madam Claudia had explained my predicament to him. I sighed for the one hundredth time today, if I was taunted about not transforming into my wolf form at the house of the lost, then where we were headed wouldn’t be any difference. I rested my head on the window plane, and drifted off to sleep.I don’t know how long I was asleep but the carriage came to an abrupt stop, causing me to bump my head against the window Frame. “Ow.” I jerked awake, rubbing my head. We arrived at a cozy inn as the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow. Alpha Kael opened his eyes, his gaze piercing through me. "We'll rest here for the night," he said, his deep voice stirring me awake from my half-sleep. I rubbed my eyes, taking in the rustic inn's wooden sign: "Moonlight Haven." The carriage door swung open, and Kael stepped out, offering his hand. I hesitated before taking it, his grip firm but not ungentle. Inside, the inn was warm and inviting. A fire crackled, casting flickering shadows. Kael led me to a private dining room. A feast awaited: roasted meats, steaming vegetables and fresh bread. "You're malnourished," he observed bluntly. "Eat," he commanded, his tone tight. "We leave early." I took a spoonful of food into my mouth, still very cautious of his presence in the room
As the gate swung open, I caught my breath. The Red Moon Territory's grandeur stunned me. Towering spires and majestic architecture stretched toward the sky. Alpha Kael descended from the carriage, his movements fluid. "Out," he ordered. I followed, smoothing my dress. A sea of faces awaited. Wolves of all ages, dressed in finery, lined the courtyard. Their curious gazes settled on me. Alpha Kael's stern expression remained unchanged. "Stay by my side." I nodded, falling into step beside him. As we entered the grand hall, whispers erupted. "The new one." "From the House of the Lost." "Alpha Kael's acquisition." My cheeks flushed. At the hall's center, an imposing figure stood: an older wolf with piercing blue eyes. "Alpha Elijah," Kael said, bowing slightly. Alpha Elijah's gaze swept over me. "Welcome, Astrid. You're a rare find." His words sent shivers down my spine. "Dominique, your generosity is renowned," Elijah continued. "Sharing your... acquisition with
As I soaked in the warm bath, Maya's words lingered in my mind. "Different." What did that mean? And what lay ahead tonight? The water's warmth seeped into my muscles, relaxing my tense body. Maya chatted softly, her voice distracting me from my worries. "You'll love the dress we picked out for tonight. It's one of the finest in the territory." I nodded, giving her small smile. As I finished bathing, Maya helped me into the a robe. The cotton fabric hugged my body in the most comfortable snuggle, shimmering in the candlelight. Sophia entered the room, giving me a bored look. “You need to eat before we take you out there.” “ I’ll get someone to arrange something quickly,” Maya said, tuning out of the room. Megan scoffed, sitting on the bed with her legs crossed. “Sit, let’s do something about your hair,” Sophia commanded. I slowly walked over to the vanity, pushing back the chair adorned with red velvet and gold just like the one in the carriage. I took a seat and
We walked through the dark hallway in silence, following the noise and chatter from where I presumed was the grand hall. Each step I took made my throat tighten, the food in my stomach kept threatening to come back up to my mouth. I rubbed my free hand around my throat, gulping. We arrived at the stairs, I could see the hall from were I stood. It was packed. The were three very large and very long tables positioned in the hall. The noise instinctively died down as they sensed my presence in the room, a thousand eyes turned in my direction. “Come on,” Sophia urged, walking in front of me. I took a step down the huge staircase, I felt like a toy on display. Laughing inwardly, I rolled my eyes, well that wouldn’t be a first. I finally got to the center of the stairs, everyone’s features were visible now. Their eyes silently cursing me, glowed in yellow and blue, the women looked at me in anger and jealousy while the men looked at me in irritation and disgust. Some of them w
The hall emptied quickly, pack members hurrying to the courtyard. I followed, my heart racing with anticipation. Vivian's gaze lingered on me before she turned to leave. Alpha Elijah and Dominique flanked her, their faces stern. Sophia, Alice, and the red-gowned woman remained on the stage, their eyes fixed on Kael. He stood, his eyes looking everywhere but me. As I exited the hall, the cool night air enveloped me. The courtyard was packed, pack members gathering around the center. The sky above transformed, turning pitch black, thunder rumbled and bright light flashed through the sky, illuminating the yard. Everyone gasp, huddling against each other. Stars disappeared, replaced by an eerie darkness. A collective murmur spread through the crowd. The air thickened with tension. I stood at the edge of the crowd, unsure what to do. Alice appeared beside me, her eyes serious. "Astrid," she whispered, "come with me." I followed her, weaving through the sile
A bright stream of moon shone into the room, my head felt really heavy, and the bed was a little harder, groaning I squinted my eyes a strong scent hitting my nostrils. My eyes immediately shut open, scanning the room. It was empty, and unfamiliar. “Hello?” I called out “Is anybody here?” No response, I scrambled to get out of the bed, but my knees were still weak and I fell to the floor, “shit!” I cursed, as my body collided with the floor in the thud. Sighing I struggled to get back up on my feet, my whole body was a wreck and my mind was foggy, “Where am i?” I said, looked around the room. Another wave of heat rolls off my body when the same scent hit me again. It clouded my whole sense and my breathing became ragged. Finally letting go of the sheets I gripped tightly, I hoisted myself up with the help of the bed frame, following the scent. “Is someone here?” I asked, shiver running down my spine, walking towards the dark corner of the room. Just then a tall h
His hands trailed down my back, I stood stiff, drowning out the whatever feelings were bubbling up inside. “Mine” he growled, his breaths skimmed across my neck. I gasped, as he suddenly pinched my nipples without warning, using his large hand to grab my waist keeping my feet firmly on that spot. “You will bear my mark, and carry my cubs,” he whispered. I stood motionless, staring at the empty space in front of me. “Get your ass in the bed and lift it in the air like a good little mouse you are,” he hisses into my ear. The demand makes me even more wet which I hated myself for, turning around I compiled to him, laying down on my stomach and pushing my knees up until it touched my breast. “Good little mouse,” he moaned, his voice vibrates through my body. With the exposed position, the scent of my arousal spread the room, I knew I was a pool of wetness that I couldn’t control it dripped down my inner thighs. He hummed in approved, tearing off his shirt and pulling dow
I woke up to the warmth of my bed, groggily opening my eyes to find myself in my own room. The events of the previous night felt like a dream, but the soreness between my legs and the memories etched in my mind told me otherwise. I slowly sat up, rubbing my temples to ease the throbbing headache. My eyes scanned the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. It was mid day already, the sun shone bright into the room. How did I even get here? A soft knock on the door broke the silence. "Astrid, are you awake?" Maya's gentle voice called out. I recognized the voice of my personal maid. "Yes, I'm awake," I replied, my voice hoarse from crying. The door creaked open, and Maya entered with a tray of steaming hot food. "I brought your breakfast, milady," she said, setting the tray down on my bedside table. My stomach growled at the aroma of freshly baked bread and roasted meats. Maya helped me sit up and fluffed my pillows. "Thank you, Maya," I managed to say, trying to hide my
