CHAPTER 35 – Replacement

Lisa's POV

Jonas parks the car in the driveway once we make our way into the compound. I let out a huge sigh of relief, trying to calm my nerves. My whole body was trembling. Jonas gives me all the time I need before helping me out of the car. As soon as we made our way inside the house, we were swarmed by concerned council members asking if we were feeling alright. Deep down, I knew they weren't concerned about me at all; they all wanted to know about the well-being of the next Delta of the country.

Maybe I was wrong and my assumptions weren't correct. Kayden was the last person to speak, and he was looking at me in the eyes when he asked Jonas if we were both alright. That meant he had some concern for me. He was standing in the middle of the group, with Klaus next to him.

"How many rebels were there?" Kayden directed his question at Jonas while his eyes were still trained on me.

"I'd say three tops."

"I'll send out
