Alpha Leo's POV. “I don't understand, you have a sister and I don't know about her, how is that possible?” Zeo asks me “You see, you should've gotten that gift.” Freya tells me and at this moment I'm thinking I should've listened to her and Lena. “Shut Up Freya.” I tell her and as I look at both her ans Lena, it's clear that's they're holding back their laugh. “Can we all just go inside and I can explain.” I tell Zeo. “Fine, let's do that. Come on kids, let's go in.” Zeo tells the kids and they take his hands as he leads them into the house. I messed up, big time, I mean I was expecting anger from him but the look in his eyes all I saw was disappointment and hurt. “It's going to be fine, just explain everything to him, it's Zeo, he'll forgive you.” Lena tells me. “Say sorry and he'll forgive you boss man.” Karla tells me. “Thank you so much for the advice sweet girl.” I tell her and then I ruffle her hair and she laughs
Alpha Leo's POV. “Ok, so let me see if I've got this right, whoever it is that's behind this, isn't someone that you've pissed off in the past, it's actually a member of your pack?” Zoey asks. “That is correct.” I tell her. “Wow, that's just, wow.” She says and I'm very grateful that in this moment she doesn't have more to say. “So who do you think it could be?” Lena asks. “I have no idea.” I tell her. “So you're saying you don't have any disgruntled employees or someone that you might've offended?” Lena asks. “No, Zeo and I are barely at the office, we always work from home, we just go in for the monthly board meetings and just stop in from time to time, how would I have possibly upset someone when I'm never there.” I tell her. “Ok, so if we are to believe that you are this loved Alpha. Then could it be possible that whoever got those pages isn't doing it of his own free will? Maybe they are being blackmailed or something
Alpha Leo's POV. The drive back to the house just reminds me more of how this once joyful pack has turned into a wasteland, no sign of life except for the weeds and the trees, the only time people actually come out is every two weeks to get their groceries from the truck that delivers it and then they all run back to their houses. “How's the clinic?” I ask Zeo. “Still much of the same, no one's been admitted but still they're not getting better.” He tells me. “Well hopefully before the week runs out we will have the cure and all this will be behind us and we can get on the road to healing.” I tell him. We get to the house, I park the car and we both get down. There used to be guards at the front of the double doors but I had to put a stop to that because of the disease, I won't make them guard me if there's a risk that they will get sick. I can protect myself. We get into the house and Elijah is in the living room waiting for us. “A
Alpha Leo's POV. I don't even know when I start laughing, but I can't control it, fate must be playing a very sick joke on me, because how much can a guy take before he just gives up and runs mad? No really I want to know. Because first I was cursed with a hateful father and then fate saw it fit to take my mother away from me, then I was blessed with a mate, that's Scarlett but then she leaves me to marry another man. Then I find another mate in Selene and then Scarlett comes back and I do not know it at the time but I make the wrong decision of choosing Scarlett and rejecting Selene. My marriage to Scarlett is horrible and then my pack is cursed with an incurable disease. Now the only person that can help with a cure is Selene, the same woman I rejected six years ago and she returns with my kids, who don't know that I'm their father and now I find out that Selene was the right choice all along and one stupid decision has derailed my life. But that's not all
Lena's POV. After the guys leave, the three of us remain at the table and Zoey and Freya have been getting on just like I thought they would. “You know I really wish you caught her throwing Leo around on video, it would add to my ammo when I'm making fun of him.” Zoey tells Freya. “Yea that would've been nice, to have something over him, get him to do whatever we want.” Freya says. The next thing I know, I hear the sound of little feet running towards the dinning room. “Here they come.” Zoey says and Freya looks confused. “Mama!” Karla screams as she launches herself at me and I carry her up and sit her on my lap. Lian decides that the table is now his chair and he climbs up and sits down at the middle if the table, I'm not going to complain, at least he's sitting. “Are you done with your meeting? Can we have our gifts now?” Luke asks me. “Yea, boss man said he got us gifts too.” Liam tells me. “Ok, calm down. The
Alpha Leo's POV. “I'll drop you off at the office first, you know what you need to do right?” I asked him. “Yes, I'll ask the secretary for the delivery logs from the past six months and also check the CCTV feeds.” He tells me. “Good then I'll head to the courier's office, when I get the information that I need then I'll head back and help you out in the office.” I tell him. “Ok, that sounds like a plan.” He says and a few minutes later we arrive at the building and he gets down and I just stay there for a few minutes staring at that building and what it means, it shows what Zeo and I have accomplished after years of hardwork and now someone in that building is trying to bring everything down. I put in the address for the courier company and the GPS says that it's just fifteen minutes away. So I look at the directions and drive there. I park my car and get down, the office is on the second floor of a high rise building, so instead of taking the ele
Alpha Leo's POV. “That is my signature Mr. Andrews but I assure you, I did not sign for that package, I haven't been to the office in months, my second in command has been running things.” I tell him. “Is it possible that he was the one that put down your signature for the package?” He asks me. “No, that's impossible. Do you know who delivered the package. Is it possible to ask him who he gave it to?” I ask him. “Yes, I guess we can do that.” He says ans then he types on his computer, then he presses his intercom. “Jessica, please send Luke to my office.” He says. “He should be here soon.” He tells me. A few minutes later, there's a knock and a young boy, who shouldn't be more than eighteen or nineteen steps in. “You wanted to see me Mr. Andrews?” He asks. “Yes, Luke. I want you to look at this gentleman here, have you seen him anywhere before?” Andrews asks Luke. “No, I don't think that I have.” Luke answers.
Lena's POV. “Well….” “Well what?” Zoey asks me. That's the thing with our relationship, we know each other so well that we can tell when the other is hiding something or lying. “When we went to the club and Zoey left to get the key, something happened between Leo and I.” I tell her and she has this crazed look on her face. “No, Lena, tell me you didn't?” She asks me. “No, it's not like you're thinking. We were dancing and we had a moment, everything around us seemed to disappear and it was electric and we almost kissed but we didn't and that was it, nothing else happened.” I tell her and she stares at me like she's trying to decipher whether I'm lying or telling the truth. “Ok, but you shouldn't have gotten yourself in a situation like that.” She tells me. “I know that Zoey, I know but it was like I couldn't control it.” I tell her. “Ok, I won't claim to understand this mate bond. But sissy, he's with Scarlett, he chose her you have to
Alpha Leo's POV. We lock the four other men in a room we found in the warehouse, turns out they're human and not wolves so we made sure to take away their guns. Lex is tied to a chair, with ropes and chains and we injected him with a heavy dose of wolfsbane so even when he wakes up, he'll be too weak to escape. “Are you ready to do this?” I asked Freya. “Yea, find out where the pages are it should be easy, I don't think I will dive that deep and even if I have to, it will be more painful for him than for me.” She says. She steps behind Lex and places both hands on his head, she closes her eyes and she starts chanting. “What do you think he was doing here?” I asked Zeo. “I have no idea, but whatever it was I have a strong feeling that it wasn't good.” He says. “What do you mean?” I asked him. “Well, this particular dock is known for being used for illegal activities, the cartel's and the mafia run their goods th
Alpha Leo's POV. I look at the map to see where he is. “That's down by the docks, there's nothing there but warehouses.” I tell Freya. “Well, that's where he is now, the spell doesn't work like a GPS, if he leaves there, we are going to have to do another location spell again. So we need to get there now.” She tells us. “Alright then, lets go.” I tell her. “Wait, wait, wait, just wait.” Lena says as she holds up her hands. “You're about to walk into a situation that you know nothing about. What if he's not alone, what if he has his men with him, there's only three of you.” She tells us and she has a point. “I know that Lena, but we don't have a choice, more than half of the pack is sick and the ones that aren't, they won't leave their homes. We have to do this by ourselves. We'll be fine, I mean only Freya can take care of all of them with a flick of her wrist.” I tell her. “That is true.” Freya tells her. “Ok, but
Alpha Leo's POV. Zeo texted that they were on their way back and that something was wrong with Freya but he didn't go into details. So I grabbed the map I needed and here I was, waiting for them at the front door. A few minutes later, I hear his truck pull up and I open the front door. Freya looks like she's seen a ghost as she leans on Zeo and he walks her into the house. I go to the kitchen and grab a bottle if water for her then I meet them back in the living room. “Here, drink this.” I tell her as I hand her the bottle. She opens it up and takes a few sips. “You feel better?” I ask her. “A little.” She says. I take a seat next to her. “What happened back there? Were you able to get the signature?” I asked her. “Yes, I was and that's the problem.” She says. “I don't understand, what do you mean?” I ask her. “The witch's signature that was left there is one I recognise, it's one that I'm very familiar with. It belongs to my aunt Dahlia.” She tells me
Freya's POV. The pack is so quiet but Lena and Leo were right, it is beautiful. “So no one comes outside because of the disease?” I ask Zeo as he drives. “Yea, we don't know exactly how the disease spreads and why some people are sick and some aren't. So everyone just stays in. Every week, a truck delivers groceries and also another truck comes in to pick up the trash. They're humans so there's no chance of them getting infected.” He tells me. “That's really sad.” I tell him as I look out my window. “Yes it is and it's also hard to look at, this pack was so full of life and for it to be like this now, it's hard to watch.” He tells me. “What about you, did you have any family that was infected?” I ask him. “No, I lost my parents at a young age, they had my sister and I late in life, so they lived a full life. My sister is married, her husband is an Alpha of a pack back in Jersey. So thankfully she wasn't here when it hit.”
Alpha Leo's POV. I left the dining room but I didn't leave the house, I went to the patio to tell the kids goodbye and when Zeo came over, I left and that's when I heard her, it's not like I was purposely listening in or anything like that. The house was quiet and voices carried, so I heard what she said, she loves me but she doesn't trust me. That might discourage some people but not me, I have a smile on my face and a spring in my step as I walk to my car. Here I thought that all feelings she had from me had been stripped away after I rejected her but I was wrong. She loves me now all I need to do is prove to her that she can trust me with her heart again. I get to the house and I park my car, the pack is so quiet that if not from the sounds coming from the birds you would think that it was a graveyard. I put off the lockdown mode and walk into the house. I packed breakfast in a Tupperware from Lena's house because I'm pretty sure I have nothing in my kitc
Alpha Leo's POV. I can tell that she's nervous around me after what I said last night, but I can't tell if the nerves are good or bad. I meant what I said, I am going to win her back and it starts today, anytime that isn't spent looking for Lex, I'm dedicating that time to her. “Well, I'm going to check in on Elijah and find out if he had turned up anything. Then we'll need to head back to the house to get that map for Freya, plus I need to feed Scarlett.” I tell them. “You really put her down in the dungeon?” Zeo asks. “Yes and I also put the house in lockdown, she's not going anywhere.” I tell him. “I'm also going to need to go to the site where the spell was cast.” Freya says. “Why? If it's for the sludge that was running underneath the grounds, I already have a sample back at my lab.” I tell her. “No, it's not that. Usually when a witch or a warlock casts a spell, they leave their own signature behind. Not a little of witches can t
Lena's POV. After Leo's declaration last night, he kisses me on my cheek and left the house. I didn't plan on saying anything back to him but even if I wanted to, I couldn't, his words shocked me that I couldn't even form any words if I tried. The truth of the matter is I'm tired of being angry, it takes up a whole lot of energy and if you ask me, I've forgiven him, I mean I was ready to be friends with him for the sake of the kids, but to get back together with him and have a relationship. I'm not sure that I can do that, I mean I still love him I won't deny that, the problem here is trust, do I trust him with my heart? And the answer to that question is no, I do not. I mean last time he shattered my heart so badly that it took me years to put back together and it was never really the same. I toss and turn in bed, sleep eluding me because of the different scenarios that I keep on playing in my head. The first one being, if I never came back here to find a cure h
Alpha Leo's POV. “How are we going to do that, you're the one that said he was a ghost.” Zoey says. “I know that, but now we have his name. I've sent it to Elijah so I'm sure he'll be able to turn up something.” I tell her. “There might be another way, I'm not sure about it but it might work.” Freya says. “What's that?” I asked her. “If you guys really are brothers, then you share the same blood. So I might be able to track him using your blood.” She says. “And it will work?” I ask. “I'm not a hundred percent sure but it should.” She tells me. “What do you need?” I ask her. “I need a map and your blood, that's it.” She tells me. “Ok, I think there's a map back at the house and if there isn't one there, we'll get one.” I tell her. “So what exactly is the plan when you find him?” Zeo asks. “I'm still working that out, but first priority is finding those pages so the girls can make a cure.” I tell h
Alpha Leo's POV. “So, the day we got back from New Orleans, after Zeo and I left, the man I hired to trail Scarlett met us in the house, he found the evidence that I needed. Turns out she's been having an affair, but that wasn't the shocking news, what shocked us was the fact that the man in the video, the man Scarlett was sleeping with, Elijah couldn't find him, he wasn't on any database, he was a ghost. But he did have one distinct feature which was the birthmark that he had on his back, a birthmark that was the same as mine, in the same spot. A birthmark that is unique to my family line, it turns out that I have a brother.” I tell them and now all three of them look shocked. “Wait, wait a minute, so your wife is cheating on you with a brother that you knew nothing about, is that right?” Freya asks me. “That is correct.” I tell her. “This story is so good, I won't lie, but I'm confused.” Zoey tells me. “So was I, but everything will soon make sen
