I looked over the expression on her face. She was undoubtedly worried, her eyes were focused on mine as she waited for my answer.

As a response, I shook my head and moved away from her, "he's not what you think he is, he abandoned everything just for this cause, he is different".

Catherina frowned, "you put so much faith on a man that you know nothing about. A man that calls Tristan a brother and you expect me to trust him with the life of my daughter?"

"Catherina," I said and placed a hand on her shoulder, "your worry is understandable, but trust me, you don't have anything to worry about. Philip is different".

Catherina narrowed her eyes, "Asher, are you sure familiarity is not blurring your eyes and clouding your judgment?"
