Chapter 7: Chasing Scars

Zavier looked at me with concern in his eyes. "Are you okay?" he asked, his voice soft.

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "Yeah," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I just need a minute."

Zavier nodded, giving me space. I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm my racing heart. But the panic wouldn't subside, and I felt like I was suffocating.

"I can't do this," I said suddenly, my voice shaking. "I can't keep this a secret anymore. Luna deserves to know the truth."

Zavier's expression hardened. "No," he said firmly. "We agreed that this would be our secret. We can't risk everything we've built for the pack."

"But it's not fair," I said, my voice rising. "Luna has a right to know that the child she thinks is hers isn't."

Zavier took a step closer to me, his eyes blazing. "You promised me that you wouldn't tell anyone," he said, his voice low. "Do you remember that?"

I nodded, feeling like a trapped animal. "I know, but-"

"But nothing," Zavier interrupted. "You made a promise, Sophia. And now you're going to keep it."

I felt tears spring to my eyes, my heart heavy with guilt and fear. I knew that Zavier was right, but the thought of deceiving Luna made me feel sick.

"I can't," I said finally, my voice breaking. "I can't live with this anymore. I have to tell her."

Zavier looked at me with anger in his eyes. "If you tell her, Sophia, there will be consequences. You know that, don't you?"

I nodded, feeling like I was about to break. "I know, but I can't keep living like this. It's tearing me apart."

Zavier sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Fine," he said finally, his voice low. "But if you're going to tell her, you have to do it alone. I can't be involved in this."

I nodded, feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. "Thank you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

Zavier gave me a hard look. "But remember, Sophia. Whatever happens, you're on your own."

I nodded, feeling the full weight of his words. But I knew that I had to do the right thing, no matter the cost.

As I left the cabin, I felt a sense of dread settle over me. I knew that what I was about to do would change everything. But I couldn't keep living a lie, not when Luna's happiness was at stake.

As I made my way to the packhouse, my heart racing, I couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. But I knew that I had to face the consequences, no matter what they were.Finally, I arrived at the packhouse, my heart pounding in my chest. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself, and made my way inside.

The packhouse was quiet, the only sounds the soft hum of the air conditioning and the distant chatter of the pack members outside. I made my way down the hallway, my feet heavy, until I reached Luna's office.

I knocked softly on the door, my heart in my throat. After a moment, the door opened, and Luna stood before me, her expression curious.

"Sophia," she said, her voice warm. "What brings you here?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my voice. "Luna," I said, my voice shaking. "I need to talk to you.

~~~~
Suddenly, a loud roar filled the air, shaking the entire room. The ground trembled beneath us, and I stumbled, trying to keep my balance.
"What was that?!" I shouted over the deafening noise.
"I don't know," Zavier replied, his eyes scanning the room. "Stay here. I'm going to check it out."
Before I could protest, he disappeared out of the room, leaving me alone and afraid.
I stood there for what felt like an eternity, the sound of the roar echoing in my ears. I could hear faint screams and shouting coming from somewhere in the distance, and I knew that something terrible was happening.
Finally, Zavier burst back into the room, his face contorted with fear.
"Sophia, we have to go," he said urgently, grabbing my hand. "Now!"
I didn't need to be told twice. I followed him out of the room, my heart racing. As we ran through the maze of hallways and corridors, I could hear the sound of chaos all around us.
When we finally emerged from the building, I could see the devastation that had been wrought upon the pack. Buildings were burning, people were running in every direction, and the stench of smoke and fear filled the air.
"What's happening?" I asked, my voice shaking.
"I don't know," Zavier replied, his eyes scanning the scene. "But we have to get out of here before it's too late."
We ran towards the docks, hoping to find a boat that could take us away from the danger. As we neared the water, we could see that the boats had all been destroyed or taken.
"We have to swim," Zavier said, looking at me with urgency.
I nodded, knowing that there was no other choice. We jumped into the water, the cold shock of it taking my breath away.
As we swam away from the burning docks, I could feel the panic rising within me. I didn't know what was happening, but I knew that it was something terrible.
As we reached the shore, I could see that the chaos had spread beyond the pack. The entire town was in ruins, buildings were burning, and people were screaming in terror.
"We have to find a way out of here," Zavier said, grabbing my hand. "There's a small plane at the airfield. We can take that and get out of here."
I nodded, following him as we ran towards the airfield. The sounds of destruction followed us, and I knew that we were lucky to be alive.
When we finally reached the airfield, we saw that the plane was still there, waiting for us. We climbed aboard, and Zavier started the engine, his face set with determination.
As we lifted off the ground, I looked out the window at the destruction below. My heart ached for the people and the pack that we had left behind.
"We have to go back," I said suddenly, turning to Zavier. "We can't leave them there."
Zavier looked at me, his eyes filled with sorrow. "It's too dangerous," he said. "We have to get to safety first. Then we can figure out what to do."
I knew he was right, but it didn't make the guilt and fear any less. As we flew away from the town, I could see the destruction spreading out in every direction.
I didn't know what the future held for us, but I knew that our lives would never be the same again. We had lost everything we knew and loved, and we were forced to flee for our lives.
As we flew towards an uncertain future, I held onto Zavier's hand tightly, knowing that we would need each other to survive.
Just as they thought they had evaded the werewolves, a group of them appeared in front of them, blocking their path. Sophia's heart sank as she saw the look of determination on their faces.
Zavier stepped forward, his body tense and ready for action. "Stay behind me," he said, his voice low and commanding. "I won't let them hurt you."
Sophia nodded, her eyes wide with fear as she clutched her stomach protectively. She knew that the Alpha would do everything in his power to protect her, but she couldn't help feeling vulnerable and exposed.
The werewolves began to advance, their eyes flashing with rage and bloodlust. Zavier growled, his eyes flashing with an intense golden light as he prepared to defend himself and Sophia.
The first werewolf lunged forward, its massive jaws snapping shut just inches from Zavier's throat. Zavier dodged to the side, his claws flashing as he slashed out at the creature's side.
The werewolf howled in pain, its body convulsing as it fell to the ground. But before Zavier could catch his breath, another werewolf lunged forward, its massive claws raking across his chest.
Zavier roared in pain, his body staggering as he fought to stay on his feet. Sophia gasped, her heart racing as she watched the Alpha struggle against the relentless assault of the werewolves.
But just when it seemed that all hope was lost, something miraculous happened. Sophia felt a sudden surge of energy within her, a power that she had never felt before. It was as if a wild and primal force had been awakened within her, filling her with a fierce and unrelenting strength.
As Sophia's body began to transition into that of a massive and powerful werewolf, she could feel the muscles rippling and bulging as the transformation took place. She was astounded when she glanced down at her hands and saw her razor-sharp claws and powerful jaws for the first time.
Sophia made a ferocious growling sound before launching herself forward in a bound, her body moving with a grace and strength that she had never before experienced. Her massive talons sliced through both flesh and bone with ease as she viciously attacked the werewolves, sending them reeling in their tracks.
Zavier stood in wonder as Sophia battled her opponent, his jaw dropping in shock at the sight of her morphing into a different being as she did so. He was aware of the fact that he had underestimated her and that he had never fully understood the scope of the power that she possessed.
They fought back together against the werewolves, their bodies moving in a coordinated dance of death and devastation as they did so. They were no match for them, and the werewolves quickly fell to the ground broken and dispersed after being defeated by them.
The exhilaration and excitement were making Sophia's body shake as she stood there panting. She was still in shock over the appearance of her new body as she glanced down at her hands. She had never before experienced feelings of being so vibrant, so powerful, and so free.
Zavier took a step forward, his eyes glistening with a mixture of admiration and satisfaction. He exclaimed, with a great deal of feeling in his tone, "You were amazing." "I had no idea..."
When he tried to continue, Sophia halted him with a fierce kiss, their lips meeting in an embrace that was wild and impassioned. They were gripping each other tightly, their bodies quivering as a result of the intensity of the feelings they were experiencing.
As they drove away, they were aware that their lives would never be the same again and that this was the beginning of the end. They had confronted death and danger together, and now that they were on the other side, they were in a stronger position.
But despite the fact that they were basking in the glory of their triumph, they were well aware that the perilous situation was far from over. They were surrounded by adversaries, so maintaining vigilance was absolutely necessary if they wanted to stay alive. They stood tall as a group, the strength and energy of the werewolves radiating from their bodies. They were the most feared warriors, guardians, and defenders of their people.
Almost immediately, Zavier assumed leadership, quickly rallying his pack, and giving them instructions to create a defensive perimeter around us. The werewolves encircled us, growling and baring their fangs as they came closer and closer. Their eyes shone brightly in the darkness.
As I witnessed the event take place, I desperately clung to Zavier and felt my heart racing. It was both terrifying and exhilarating to witness such a demonstration of raw power and strength for the first time because I had never seen anything like it before.
The power that the Alpha and his group commanded seemed to make the werewolves think twice before acting. After that, however, one of them charged forward with their fangs bared, and the others mimicked his actions.
The werewolves that attacked Zavier's group were met with a ferocious defense from his pack, which included snarling and clawing. However, there were far too many of them, and I could tell that Zavier's pack members were exhausted from the looks on their features.
At precisely the moment when it appeared that there was no longer any chance of success, I felt a surge of strength flow through me. It was as if a switch had been turned on, and all of a sudden, I was infused with a strength and agility that I had never felt before. It was as if a switch had been turned on.
I tore my eyes away from the conflict and glanced down at my hands, watching in awe as they started to glow with a mellow blue light. I then looked back up at the fight. I didn't give it much thought before raising my hands and unleashing a surge of energy that struck the werewolves square in the face and sent them reeling backward with a ferocious howl.
Zavier stared at me with wide eyes, as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing. His voice was filled with astonishment as he questioned her, "Sophia, what did you just do?"
I was still reeling from the sudden surge of strength when I shook my head in response. My voice was shaking as I uttered the words, "I don't know." "I just...did it."
Zavier continued to stare at me for a brief moment longer before turning his attention back to the fight at hand. The tone of his voice was firm as he stated, "We'll discuss this later." "Our top priority at this moment should be to make it out of here unscathed."
The pack led by Zavier battled back against the werewolves with renewed vigor, their strength and agility matching that of their adversaries. As they engaged in combat with their foes, I was astounded to see how fluidly and gracefully they moved, their bodies appearing to transform as they did so.
In spite of the fact that the fight was going on, I couldn't help but feel uneasy in the bottom of my stomach. I was aware that there was a limit to how long we could keep fighting and that the werewolves would ultimately triumph over us.
A lone scream could be heard in the distance just as it appeared that all possibilities had been exhausted. I had never encountered that sound before; it was a wail that managed to be both melancholy and imposing at the same time.
The werewolves halted their pursuit and turned their heads to look in the direction of the disturbance. I couldn't help but stare in awe as a humongous, pitch-black wolf exploded onto the scene, the light from another planet emanating from its eyes.
Zavier's pack took advantage of the momentary distraction to initiate a fierce counterattack, and the werewolves appeared to run away in fear when they saw the newcomer.
We barely had time to catch our breath before the last of the werewolves were vanquished, and we were left standing amidst the charred remains of the battlefield.
Zavier made his way over to me, beaming with satisfaction in his gaze. He exclaimed in awe, "Sophia, you were incredible," as his words were filled with awe. "I've never seen anything like it."
I stared at him while I was still in disbelief over what had just taken place. With my voice scarcely raised above a whisper, I questioned, "What was that howl?"
Zavier gave me a thoughtful glance before returning his attention to me. He spoke softly, but conveyed the message that "that was the Alpha of the Black Moon pack." He is considered to be among the most potent werewolves in the entire globe.
Yep last chapter for me. I hope this is a child writer just starting out because it doesn’t make sense and is all over the place. She went to talk to Luna but Zavier showed up and rescued her only. They’re in a plane but then fighting wolves. How??
