Lucinda's POV

I cried.

I cried for Arthur. I cried for a man who didn't care about me, who didn't care that I would still be fine after he had left me. But in the comfort of it all, Shadow was there, my very own Alpha mate.

When I cried he held me close. For the first time, I felt important. For the first time, I was important. I wasn't the second choice, nor was I the substitute option. I was the only true option.

"I am gonna kill him," Shadow growls, as he tries to stand up.

"Please don't go," I stop him.

"He hurt you, he humiliated you, he threw you out of Aquarius Waters, doesn't that deem him to be my enemy?" he inquires of.

"It does," I nod.

"Then it's final. We attack tonight," he states.

"You are gonna start a war Shadow." I try to reason with him. I am hurt, that much I can say, but should we hurt so many people because of Arthur?
