Caleb’s Point of View
It felt like torture knowing waiting to see my mate. Even my wolf was pouting because we had to leave her side. I know that Hannah will take care of her though. Hannah was once a slave. Theo and I met her when she was younger. Theo would not leave her side until I had secured her purchase. Since that day Hannah has been like a little sister to both Theo and I. We were there with her when she first shifted, took her on her first run. We ensured that she excelled in school and that she did not want for anything. Hannah lived at our manor house.
“So, when will the mating ceremony be?” I forgot that Theo was in the room.
“I am not sure. She still has not accepted that I am her mate. I know that Hannah adjusted well, but I think it is going to take Daphne a bit of time. Daphne was abused by her own parents; she has no value of her own self-worth. I pr
Daphne’s Point of ViewCaleb got me a gift. No one besides Luna Alma has ever gotten me a gift before. My sister use to sneak me books, food, and occasionally some little treat but I never considered those gifts. I have lived through countless birthdays, and holidays with no one even acknowledging me unless it was to bark orders. My hands are shaking as I am trying to take the bow off the velvet box. The box is very soft in my hands. I am stunned when I finally open the box.Inside the soft velvet box is the most charming necklace I have ever seen. There are tiny diamonds lining the rose gold chain which is very fine. All of them lead down to a pristine teardrop shaped diamond pendant in the center. Oh Moon Goddess surely this is not meant for me. I am clumsy, I know I will break it. When I tell Caleb that I could not possibly accept this he acts heart broken. I try explaining to him that I am worried about br
Calebās Point of ViewI can not let her see how angry I am right now. How much I want to tear her old pack apart. When Daphne stopped and could not take a step towards the front door, rage hot blinding rage exploded within me. The only thing stopping me from turning this ball into a massacre is the fact that I know that my mate needs to have faith, and trust in me. I do not know how Daphne will react if she sees the monster I can truly become. Instead of pulling her, or trying to coax her towards the front door, I simply swoop her up in my arms.Cradling her in my arms, I almost turn around and took her back upstairs. Simply touching her makes my pants fit tighter. She is light, too light as if she has not been fed properly. My heartbeat is racing, it is taking all my restraint not to kiss her. I carry her right through the front door. It is important to me that she knows that when times get hard, I will not abandon her. I will help her through everything in this life.
Daphneās Point of ViewCaleb pulls me into his side as we walk into the ball. He is so warm and feeling his hand around my waist is sparking a fire within me. I do not get to dwell on the feeling too long because I am too distracted by everything, I see walking in. There are people everywhere, some I recognize but most I have no idea who they are. Women are parading everywhere in dresses made of every color in the rainbow. Hair pins, jewelry, and beads catch the multitude of lights around the room casting their own glow across the floor. The men are just as colorful as well in suits, looking dapper. People are talking in small crowds, some are dancing, some are eating but everyone seems happy. Thankfully, I do not see my father or mother, and that puts me at ease a little. The decorations around the meeting hall are beautiful. Soft autumn touches celebrating the harvest. The music is beautiful, consisting of low melodies met for lovers. I simply can not stop looking arou
Caleb’s Point of ViewAlthough I did not want to stop kissing Daphne, I was appreciative that Theo reminded us that we were in the middle of a large social gathering. Daphne’s boldness when I told her that I wanted to kiss her was a pleasant surprise. I tried to be gentle, but the moment I touched her lips an inferno erupted in my core. Everyone melted away and it was if Daphne and I were on our own private island. Her lips tasted of honey, sweet delectable and they were so soft. I tried to be gentle kissing her, I knew it was probably her first kiss. The moment she moaned in my mouth though I was lost. I could not help slipping my tongue into her mouth to explore her farther. Her tongue dancing with mine was pure ecstasy.“So, has she accepted that you two are mates now?” Theo’s question snaps me back into reality.“I think that she is considering the pos
Caleb’s Point of ViewI really hated leaving my mate. She was vulnerable right now and I wanted to stay and comfort her some more. I know that she is going to sleep for a while, she unloaded a lot of emotional baggage that she has kept locked away for a long time. That kind of emotional release tends to be exhausting both physically and mentally. I made sure that she was secure in the bed before I headed out assess the damage of tonight.Theo let me know that he is outside the manor house by the back door. I take the back stairs down, retracing my steps from this morning. Thinking about this morning makes me realize just how much my life has also changed in such a short period of time. Heading towards the woods this morning I was fearful of becoming a feral wolf, almost sure that the Moon Goddess had forgotten to create a mate for me. Now here I am with my mate upstairs, ready to wage war on those that have hu
Daphne’s Point of ViewThe first thing I noticed when I woke up was a strange arm around me. My breath froze in my lungs, I refused to move until I could piece together what was going on. Then yesterday came flooding back to me Everything all at once, being sold, learning that Caleb thinks I am his mate, going to the ball, and then breaking down in front of Caleb. Remembering the last part of the night makes my face flame in embarrassment.Turning my head slightly I can see that it is Caleb’s arm around me, and he is still asleep. Taking advantage of the moment, I watch the steady rise and fall of his chest. His face is so relaxed he almost appears boyish. Caleb was truly a gentleman; he had tucked me into the bed under the covers and he slept on top of the covers. I appreciate his thoughtfulness.A few stray hairs have fallen over his forehead, and I have the strange want to bru
Caleb’s Point of ViewHearing Daphne still question whether we were mates made me want to prove it to her in all the wrong ways. I never intended for things to go so far, but I was lost the moment that she pressed herself up against me. I tried to be gentle, kissing her softly, trying not to rush the moment. I could smell her excitement. I felt her breath quicken, and I could feel her nipples harden into pebbles against my chest. I gave her an opportunity to stop when I flipped her on top of me. To my surprise my actions made her bolder and she ground her sweet delicate folds against me. My wolf howled in pleasure at her moans, pleased with her excitement, and wetness. Daphne had only been wearing panties, and a tee-shirt so I could feel how wet her flower was through my basketball shorts. Seeing the ache on her face, knowing that she needed to find release I did the only thing I could think of that would tip her over the edge without
Daphne’s Point of ViewAs I was getting out of the shower, I could hear Hannah’s bubbly voice calling my name. I poked my head out of the bathroom and let her know that I was only going to be a moment. I hurried and dried off and threw my clothes on before tying my hair up in a ponytail. Today I was finally leaving, and surprisingly I had mixed emotions about it. I was happy to be leaving here, that I was no longer a slave. On the other hand, this place is all I have ever known. I am a little anxious about going to a place that is completely brand new. I truly wonder what my future holds.“Are you ready to see your new home?” Hannah is already bouncing around the room, a wide smile capturing her face. Her energy is contagious, and I find myself getting excited about it as well. “I can not wait for you to see the house; I think you are going to love it. Oh, and I can show you around our
Alma’s words had successfully shocked both Scarlett and I into silence for a long moment. Hawk was not just the Alpha’s son but was also the next in line to take over his pack.“How sure is he that this witch is his destined mate?” Scarlett finally gasped out, breaking the tense silence we had been locked in.“He is sure enough that he would lay his own life down for hers.” Alma practically whispers back. I can see that this is sitting heavy on her heart and mind.Seeing her obvious discomfort spurred me into action. “Well then I hope to be celebrating their mating ceremony soon. As I said before Luna Alma you will find that we have no issues with Viola, or your pack. I am actually hoping that this will help strengthen our bonds, and we would welcome her with open arms here.”A smile broke out upon Alma’s face at my words. “Luna Daphne you cannot possibly fathom how much I appreciate your kind wo
Daphneās Point of View It did not take me long to finish getting ready after Caleb left. I took a few long breaths to calm my inflamed face before I left our room. Caleb has my heart pounding. As the Luna of my pack, and with us still entertaining guests then I cannot be waltzing around like a lovesick puppy, filled with lust. Once I felt the blood leave my face, and my pulse slow I knew it was time to leave the room. Surprisingly I felt rather hungry this morning but thinking about the activities of the previous night it should not have been a surprise that I have worked up an appetite. With the ghost of last night replaying through my mind, and a huge smile on my face I happily left the bedroom and headed downstairs to have breakfast. I barely made it out of the room before my arm was grabbed and I was yanked into the study. āWhat the hell Scarlett that hurt.ā I whisper yell at my sister as she finally relents and releases my arm. ā
Caleb’s Point of ViewI know that I must get up from the bed but laying here with Daphne sleeping soundly splayed across my chest I do not want to move. Last night was amazing. I did not expect Daphne to be ready for intimacy on that level yet, but when she bucked her hips up, I was lost in the void of lust. I had missed my mate severely, so it was a huge relief to both myself and my wolf spirit. I felt like our bond was stronger than it was yesterday. I bent my head and softly kissed the top of hers, sending up another thank you to the Moon Goddess for blessing me with her.“Mmmm I do not want to get up yet.” Daphne’s sleepy voice called out.“I know my love, but there is a lot to get done today. On the bright side almost, everyone will be leaving after today so that we can start to untangle some of the mysteries we have around here.” I am not sure if I said this more to reassure her, or if I was trying in va
Caleb’s Point of ViewI lay awake for hours, praying that sleep will eventually come. Daphne is splayed across my chest with her head nestled into my shoulder. I love holding her like this, and normally I would be out like a light. This is the exact kind of contact that I was craving while she mourned the loss of our child. Tonight, though I am racked with worry, and fear. What if Daphne is right? What if somewhere along the lines in our pack, our wolves mated with witches or witch hybrids? What if a witch cursed our pack? I hate not knowing exactly what is going on. Usually in situations where I do not have the facts, I can turn to Theo, and he can discover what exactly is going on. It seems as if Theo is as stumped as the rest of us, and that alone is making everything uneasy for me.Scarlett’s admission is also troubling me. If Alma was able to find a witch does that mean that they are more common than I previously thought? I pers
Daphne’s Point of ViewCaleb got Clint settled into what was supposed to be our nursery. Luckily, there was an attached bathroom as well, so Clint would have total privacy. I was still flabbergasted by everything that was currently transpiring. This week seems to be tossing us mystery after mystery. My brain could not stop trying to fit all the pieces together. Somehow, I had a feeling that a few things were connected. “I feel like I can see the gears turning in your brain already.” Caleb’s voice startled me out of my thoughts. I turned to see that he had come back.“Did Clint need anything? I feel bad because I do not remember asking him if he had already eaten.” I tell him.“I ran down and grabbed him a few sandwiches, fresh fruit, and made sure he had plenty of water to drink as well. He will be fine. This whole story seems crazy.” Caleb pulls me gently into his chest.&ldqu
Caleb’s Point of ViewAlpha Clint’s words stunned me. How could Axle not be his son? The man was softly sobbing in my office chair with his head in his hands. Daphne I could see was shocked as well and still standing by the door. I swiftly went behind my desk and pulled out my Brandy and three tumblers, pouring us each a glass. I then grabbed the tissues and nudged Clint’s arm with them. He gladly accepted my offer and when he was done wiping his face, I handed him the glass of Brandy.“Now that you are a bit calmer Clint, I am going to need a deeper explanation. I have met Axle before, and the man that is here appears to be him.” In truth it had been a little while since I had seen Axle, but overall, his looks have not changed much since then.“I noticed the change shortly after Axle took the reigns as Alpha of our pack. At first, he was my son, dutiful in his leadership, proud of our pack and strong. Then he
Daphne’s Point of ViewWalking out into the back courtyard my breath was taken away. The decorations were amazing. There were five small tables set up with navy tablecloths, and simple mason jar candle lights in the middle surrounded by a small wreath of flowers. Fairy lights were draped elegantly over the pergola, and over a few of the rose bushes. The sound of a violin caught me off guard and I looked quickly towards the back of the garden path to find a few of our teenage wolves tuning orchestra instruments.“I asked Brandon to gather a few members of the orchestra from school to provide some light background music.” Caleb leans close to me and whispers in my ear.The courtyard looks like something out of a movie. I had always admired the beauty it held during the daylight, but tonight it was a shining star. “This looks better than anything I could have imagined.” I whisper still in awe. Caleb put his arm gently
Caleb’s Point of ViewI had hoped that Daphne and I could spend a few minuets alone, just holding each other, but as soon as I walked in the door, she said that she needed to talk. From the look of her furrowed brow, I could tell that she felt that it was important, but I still inwardly sigh because I was hoping after the meeting that I would get a small break. Unfortunately, it seems like I will have no such luck today. I do however pull her into my chest, I just need a moment of feeling her next to me even if the relief is temporary.“Alright my little one what is going on?” I finally ask her. She then proceeds to tell me about the visit that she had with Anita, and Carolyn and the cryptic message left by her nasty mother. “So, the only reason why she came was because Scarlett is supposedly in danger?” The message seems vague at best, and a quick analysis of the situation leads me to believe that it is baloney.&l
Daphne’s Point of ViewWith everything that has happened within the last year I feel like nothing should be able to surprise me anymore. Carolyn telling me that my mother sent a warning was a huge surprise though. I quickly tried to cover my shock because I did not want Carolyn to think that I was viewing her any differently. The young girl already admitted that she had issues with people questioning her gift. I have no doubt in my mind that Carolyn is speaking the truth. For one she never met my mother, and I highly doubt that she would know her name. The second reason is the last set of words my mother said to her about Scarlett being in danger. If I were the one in danger my mother never would have shown herself; however, Scarlett was the diamond in my mother’s eyes. There is nothing that my mother would not do to save her favorite child.“Thank you so much for delivering that message to me Carolyn. I want you to know that I think
