To say I was skeptical was an understatement when I saw a note on my window last night telling me to meet up at a diner because they had information about Isla.

She's been missing for about three weeks, and it's been hell without her. I felt like my life had lost all meaning without her.

Only six years that I got to truly spend with her, and I can't manage to stay away for long. Keeping the kids under control was another problem.

I had to tell them a lie. I couldn't just blatantly tell three six-year-olds that their mother was kidnapped and that the police had no clue where she was. It would have broken their hearts.

So I told them she had to travel overseas for impromptu work-related things. I told them that some kids were sick and only their mother could help them.

They felt bad that she didn't inform them before she was going, and I had to tell them that she couldn't have because everything happened out of the blue.
