...Darius POV...I didn't want to say anything to Wynter, but I didn't feel good about coming here. I know she really wants her questions answered, and I want nothing more than to help her. But I can't stop this nagging feeling in my mind that something horrible is going to happen.We made our way to the castle that the Council members presided over. We had rented a car at the airport and had to leave it at the border of the council territories. I can see death all around me. Wolves dismembered along the ground, and blood everywhere. I can hear the screams of horror and mayhem in the distance. The smell in the air is absolutely putrid. I could feel my nose raise from the horrible smell of blood and decay. My eyes are burning from the tears shed from each of the wolves that have lost their lives around me. I take a closer look at the bodies around me, noticing that they're not all wolves. Rather there seems to be vampires and witches mixed in.I don't understand what's going on. How did I get here? Where am I? I begin looking around, searching for clues that could answer my questions. Seeing no movement around me, I run towards the screams, hoping that I can help whoever's in trouble.Before I can get there, a sort of force pushes me backwards, nearly sending me through the air. ....Darius POV...To say I was worried would be an understatement compared to how I truly felt. The way Wynter reacted when she woke up from whatever she had seen was absolutely horrifying. I don't know exactly what happened, but the more she told me, the more concerned I grew. I wish there were someone we could talk to about all of this. I hate seeing her struggle.I was thankful when she finally fell asleep in my arms. She's been through a lot in such a short amount of time. I stroked her hair as I held her in my embrace, not wanting to leave her side. While she was sleeping earlier, I could feel her fear as if it was mine. It was a feeling I hoped she would never have to experience again. For now, I just wanted to be there for her. once she was asleep, I carefully picked her up and laid her gently on the bed.
